well you have to know what you're practicing. There is a map to certain places you want to go...it depends if you want to to the shorter route or longer one. Then there is no sense of having buddha as our teacher if we dont know what he is teaching and ponder upon his words. Then what to we use to measure if we are heading the right directions.
I don't think we should get stuck on the words of the Buddha or the teaching. Just go practice to see the Dhamma. It is directly witnessing the Dhamma on our own and witness whether what Buddha said was true or not. Nake facts of nature is around us but the wisdom of the mind didn't penetrate that.. Getting stuck on conceptual idea and conventional term is a headache and a pain. Talking and talking but no practice is a waste of energy
Excellent Dhamma, audio is a bit distorted though. The Venerable Kukrit is saying that we should focus on the words of Lord Buddha and give this teaching greater priority than the words of monks and nuns who came later. None of these later teachers can teach as well as Lord Buddha. The teaching of Lord Buddha is profound and yet accessible. We should not think it is too hard to make progress in this life.

if anybody can just study on their own from the words of the pisulnee or pisu then we don't really need buddha.
