No doubt there are better strat. players alexorangeblues, but not many I can tell you. This is presuming it's possible to rate one great player against another; at this level it's all down to taste. Seen your vids -- you are good, especially for one so young; you might eventually be great too if you can relax into a groove like this man.

Many thanks for all the responses! I tried out a few different effects and in the end settled for my digitech RP50 and programmed an overdrive patch. I used the pedal in simulated speaker cabinet mode and recorded live with my backing directly into the PC and then added a little delay and reverb.
