It is our society that conditions us to be so and media and electronic gaming is no help. Considering that the military is consulted to create video games involved in war and death and the general focus on killing and death, one would determine that our culture is indeed a "death cult". And the more extreme elements of society think it's really just dandy that we venerate such things. We often hold in high esteem people and things that are unworthy of veneration.
@actioncomet That is the one law that I feel should be passed here....If you sit back and do nothing you are just as guilty as the person doing it....
Just came across this video. I have had first hand experience with something exactly like this. An elderly woman collapsed in a busy street not far from where I live. I saw her fall from 100 yards away & on the opposite side of the road. No one stopped to help her, not one. I kept thinking that someone would so didn't rush to her myself but by the time I had walked another 50 yards (maybe 15 secs) I realised no one was going to so I bolted over the road & checked her breathing, pulse,
(she was still breathing) & called an ambulance. Turned out she was diabetic & had just fainted, but it could just as easily have been something really serious like a stroke. I reckon that at least 50 people had the opportunity to help her well before I got there but it seems that no one gives a rats arse about some old lady.
I lost a lot of respect for my fellow man on that day & now whenever I hear someone repeat the platitude that people are "basically good", I tell them that story.
I certainly hope that you wake people up but I have to tell you, in the first video...no one called the police. When they interviewed that cop he said that he was pulling another car over when he saw the man in the street...no one called him

I can defend the first video. The woman on the left obviously runs inside to use the phone. Help was called for at the very beginning, which is why the police got there so fast. As for the other people, what do you expect them to do? They weren't paramedics, the best thing they could do was block traffic. Everyone knows not to move an injured person.
@MrDanielPida I think the point being made was they didn't even WALK OVER. I would go up and see if they are responsive. You don't need to lay hands on someone in order to administer care, etc. Also, all the people who walked away did not see the person calling the police. That's the other point.
If this woman was a WHITE person from the suburbs....she would have gotten Medical attention right away with NO PROBELM. We no longer have to sit in the Back of the Bus...naaa....Now we just DIE on HOSPITAL FLOORS!
.
Since she was Black and poor the white assholes let her die for an hour on the floor. But there is a day of reckoning comming white people.
.
I thank Allah that President Obama is going to take the rich white man's money and give it to poor black communities. Social Justice!
The Racist system is desgined to put Black Folk down to the Level of Animals and degrade them.
Obama is our man now. We DEMAND and will get BETTER Health Care, Higher Paying Jobs (no minimum wage slave jobs), More opportunity for our kids, Access to College Educations.
You have put us down and raped, killed, and enslaved us. NOW you are Letting us DIE on Hospital Floors.
Now our man is in the White House and we will TAKE what is ours NOW.
The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll whisper "no."
I am so saddened when I watch this video. I am a clinical nurse educator and was an ER nurse for many, many years. Though I have not seen apathy and neglect on this level, I have seen it every day on a much small scale. It erodes our souls and our meaning as a people when we allow it. Truly evil triumphs when good people do nothing.
thanks for the insightful vid. but right now in gaza the record is broken. over a thousand people, not just died but being killed for weeks now, and the world watches. yet no one cares. i'd appriciate if you guys could make a vid about that
This quote might be too heavy, but I liked it and thought of it when I watched your videos. Nice intention, guys.
"...we need first of all to have a clear conscience. Let us not think that because we are less brutal, less violent, less inhuman than our opponents we will carry the day....
....Brutality, violence, and inhumanity have an immense prestige that schoolbooks hide from children, that grown men do not admit, but that everyone bows before. For the opposite virtues to have as much prestige, they must be actively and constantly put into practice.
Anyone who is merely incapable of being as brutal, as violent, and as inhuman as someone else, but who does not practice the opposite virtues...
Usually, the case that goes a long with this is that of Kitty Genovese (1964), a women who was murdered in a NYC street while 30ish people watched from windows. This case raised many questions of the morality of the nonresponsive on lookers, but when questioned, many stated they assumed someone would/already had called the police. However, in your video, this may not apply bc of the small # of onlookers (hospital incident). Rather than bystander effect, it appears to be complete lack of interest
hey it's Casey, Katie's sister. The social responses to crimes and accidents like the ones shown are called either the "diffusion of responsibility" or the "bystander effect". Usually, the more people that witness a crime/accident, the less likely any one person is going to be to contact an authority. This isn't because people are immoral or heartless, but is more rational miscalculation, where these bystanders feel other onlookers will be more capable of helping.
sounds like an excuse. to think oneself incapable of being able to help in any way in circumstances similar to those shown is ridiculous. you may not be a doctor in either situation, but there are certainly more ways to help that do not require an advanced medical degree.
It is a tragic state of our world when we watch tapes of tragic, shocking treatment, or shall I say non-treatment of another human life in jeopardy, and the people in close proximity to them DO NOTHING.
Bravo for bringing this important video to the internet.

All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing
It is an offence in France and some other countries to do nothing.
Yon can be convicted and jailed for doing nothing.
