I find it amusing that you talk about the "perceived" officer's ego, and not the professor's "perceived" ego.

I agree that police officers have a certain attitude, and perhaps the "risking of their lives" aspect of their job, entitles them to a "self-perceived" bit of leeway, but certainly not an excuse for being disrespectful or racist.

Yet professors of any race are never held to any standard, when they infect a higher percentage of the general population.
