The security guard that was killed was a jerk. At least to me. I was at the museum and leaned in with my foot on a ledge to read a thing on a monument (I'm leagally blind), and he freaked out at me on a crazy power trip instead of politely saying please don't have your foot there. Maybe (hopefully) he was nicer than what I saw of him, maybe he was having a bad day. You can imagine how CRAZY it was to see his picture after the shooting. True Hitler hated the Russian Communists, but he was still a Left Wing Socialist. He was despised by the Russian Communists for not taking his orders from Moscow. His form of Socialism included a super-patriotism that the Russian Communists did not like. Hitler's social policy was far left wing by today's standards.

Hate to break it to you, but you have a bit of a skewed vision of what the Right, and what Conservatives stand for. In it's simplest terms;

Left = the collective

Right = the individuals freedoms.

Hitler was all about the collective, albeit, the Aryan Collective, but the collective non the less.

If you are looking at a linear political alignment, and take it from 0% government on the right, to 100% government on the left, disregarding all "social ideology" Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, and the rest of the dictators fall on the left. I see the current American right, falling in the middle, with a manageable government, protecting the freedoms and rights of the individual. So, you see, in my view, there really is no difference between Stalin and Hitler. They are both Leftists.

Just like there are fundamentalist Christians as opposed to people who follow the teachings of Christ but aren't nutjobs,the same holds true for Muslims. The fundies(Jihadists) are the conservative nutjobs of Islam.
