Van Damme; Helio Gracie vs. Gene Lebell; K.Mifune vs.E. Ali Habibi; Bruce Lee vs. Huo Yuan Jia.

    BRAUN - OGRO COMBATE

    RJ - BRASIL

  • Rapazes,

no tempo em que o vale-tudo merecia ser chamado de vale-tudo, esse homem foi um gigante.

Fosse ele norte-americano ou europeu jamais ficaria desconhecido do grande público.

Euclides Pereira, a verdadeira lenda viva!

  • But i guess the UFC rules made Wanderlei soft and not dangerous anymore. Euclides would not be undefeated if he fought now days. So many good fighters now. Plus theres rules now so its all about points, skills, durability and so many rules. Anderson, Fedor, GSP, Royce, a prime Couture, Machida and a prime Sakuraba would beat him

  • WOW! Amazing. Only if he wuz younger he would fight better fighters now days. Now days people R much better fighters and bigger and stronger! I like to see Pereira fight Wanderlei Silva and Anderson Silva in an all out war Vale Tudo fight not UFC rules. Wanderlei would be the best p4p fighter in UFC with no rules. Even Anderson didnt want to fight Wand back in pride days cuz of no rules.

  • Ivan Gomes spent a year in Japan (1975-76), never being defeated, and winning 86 professional shootfights, by submission. In 1976, he submitted W. Ruska (Olympic and World Judo heavy-weight champion), although the referees did not consider that ang gave a decision to Ruska. Ivan Gomes and Carlson Gracie fought to a draw in 1963. Euclides Pereira defeated Carlson Gracie, by decision, in 1968. Euclides Pereira, Ivan Gomes, Carlson Gracie and Waldemar Santana were the top fighters of their days.

  • Some interpreted this as a victory for Ivan. According to a letter sent from Euclides to the Gracie Magazine, he saw it otherwise, since he never agreed on fighting with Ivan with no time limits, in the first place. Ivan being way heavier, it was much more demanding, physically, for Euclides. No newspaper of the fights they still fought each other ever announced Euclides as having been previously defeated. Both Euclides Pereria and Ivan Gomes were undefeated fighters in Brazilian vale-tudo.

  • The story with Ivan Gomes is not so simple. They fought for 5 (FIVE) times, to draws. Euclides was 30 kg. lighter than Ivan. It is like Sugar Ray Robinson fighting Muhammad Ali, try to figure that! In one of those fights (happened at Petrolina, 1967), they fought for 1h55', which was overtime, since the fight turned into a brawl between them. However, at some point, there were no lights at the open air ring, and the Officials called the fight out, although Ivan wanted to go on.

  • fuuuuuuck i can't believe i din't know abut this legend of a man

  • IVAN GOMES DEFEATED HIM
