  • @nickrod666 Its a 427 cubic inch LS motor similar to a LS7. It also has a big turbo. This vid is from 2005. It would be way easier to build it now. It would still set you back 20 grand for the motor.

People who try to soup up front wheel drives are ricers. Im not saying front wheel drives cant be fast, im just saying it doesnt make any since to make them fast. I do like my american v8s though I think its time to ditch the pushrod design. Imagine a 700+ CI aluminum big block with Dohc and variable valve timing and lift.

    LS2 and L76 (G8) are 6.0 L or 364 ci. (400 and 361 hp)

    LS9, LSA, L92 and LS3 are 6.2 L or 376 ci. (638, 556, 403, and 426 & 436 hp)

    LS7 is 7.0 L or 427 ci. (505 hp)

  • no thats not the biggest u can fit in an f-body. the LSX block is the biggest u can fit with out fabrication. and btw 427 is the cubic inch displacement and has nothing to do with what you can fit into the car. there are several small blocks that you can bore and stroke to make 427 c.i.d. the LSX block is slightly bigger than a LS block and is made of iron. the cubic inch can go as high as 482.

  • Why 700 rwhp? Check out ststurbo website. Look for owner Rick. There are people pushing in excess of 700rwhp with LS-1,2,3,6,&7; modded internals. I have a stock internals Z06/LS6 pushing 610 rwhp with 9psi on methanol. My car drives stock but easily spins wheels at 80 mph with traction control turned off. So I never turn it off. The base turbo kit plus ball bearing turbos ($400) is capable of 15 psi easily 700+ rwhp on a forged motor with 9:1 C/R or similar. email Rick and see what he can do.

  • @4545bo4545 If this was at the 2005 Car Craft Nationals, the odds are that this car did NOT have an LS7 in it. The C6 Z06 wasn't even released until late in 2005, so LS7 crate motors weren't available until after that time.
