  • I wouldn't usually make an observation like this but I can definitely see a penis-shaped crater at 4:49.

  • 0:48 blew my mind.

  • Kinda hot

  • She has pretty eyes :)

  • "Smallest planet in our solar system"

    *cries for pluto*

  • @KaslarProductions pluto is a dwarf planet

  • So on Mercuty you celebrate new year's every 16 Mercury hours? (every 59 Earth days)?

  • She is beautiful...!

  • Mercury is being devowered by the Sun as we speak...bye bye... :(

  • wow after finishing this clip i've found this woman very beautiful :)

  • I still cant believe that New scientist (the youtubechannel) Gets almost as much views in a week than these videos get in a year

there videos are quite literally 15 seconds-2 minutes long

and give little explanation to no explanation in there videos

yet you explain everything in absolute detail that can be understood

  • @TechXMarine 10seconds to 2 minute vids are much more attractive to the ADD sociaty, which is most of the Internets population.

  • @TechXMarine To be fair, the NewScientist is also a globally published and respected science magazine, which frequently plugs the youtube content in the magazine, so it's perhaps inevitable

  • this videos kinda reminds me of the periodic table of videos

    on youtube

  • @ZOZW81 Same camera man. same college. so I see why you would think so. lol

  • I like the discussion and I also like her very much, more please of her, I don't care what symbol she talks about it'll be interesting to me

  • I've seen her before in their total solar eclipse episode. Maybe she's all about the heavenly bodies.

  • The amount of days passed after it's spinned round the sun three times would actually be 1 or 3 depending on which way it spins...

  • Sidereal Day? Or Solar Day?

  • 'Resonance'. excellent. It would be fun to collect some other examples.

  • Great videos. It is something I wanted to see long ago. Actually am I connected a lot with Mercury (word) but in my chart it is retrograde.

  • I read some info about mercury and venus, it said that venus is the hottest planet.(instead of mercury?) is it true?

  • Yes because Venus has an atmosphere that traps solar radiation (greenhouse effect) where as solar radiation simply bounces off of mercury...

  • Yes, because Venus has an extreme case of greenhouse effect.

  • Yes. Mercury doesn't have an atmosphere, since it is so small. Atmospheres are good at temperature stabilization, so Mercury's light side is very very hot, while the cold side is very, very cold.

Venus on the other hand, is just about the size of Earth, so it can hold a decent sized atmosphere. It has a lot of volcanic activity, which dumps huge quantities of carbon dioxide into the Venusian atmosphere. Since CO2 is a greenhouse gas, it traps in a lot of the heat from the sun.

  • you tube is unfortunately being ruined by these mindless jerks who drag there knuckles when they attemt to walk in an upright position.best to just watch the videos, lifes to short to waste your time and energy getting angry at these mindless fools..its just the "rise of the idiots"and unfortunetly we all have to share a planet with them and suffer there ignorance as best we can.

  • ive got to the point where i dont even read the comments about the vids anymore because it annoys me to read all the dumb comments people leave.on occasion when you see an interesting, thought provoking and intelligent comment if you even dare leave a comment in responce either agreeing or disagreeing you simply get loadsa replys calling you a retard or some other mindless name obviously typed by someone lacking the wit to even insult you with an original thought of there own.

  • i just had someone insult me then block me before i could reply. what a prick. i just had to share that because it pissed me off and i have nowhere else to direct my anger. grrrrrr!!!

  • let it out man, let it out.

  • hahaha, I feel your frustration, man.

I get more and more stressed by strangers on youtube and I didn't see this coming at all.

I never signed up for constant arguments lol

I just want to talk about videos.

  • lol

  • Nerds come out frequently to spin our heads with their inane announcements............

  • I haven't seen such a bad collection of comments for a long time..

  • that guy was talking so fast I dont think he actualy took a breath in that whole talk.

  • problem with this is it mainly states the "ovious" facts

  • Stating the oBvious even

  • Only if you have previously been told the facts. I learned a few things I didn't know.

  • I was taking the michael out of your spelling of 'oviuos' not actually making a point about the comment being obvious.

  • It wasn't my comment or spelling. I suppose I should have replied to DC88 rather than you.

  • is mercury like the urfs brother

  • no they consider venues to be earth twin due to its size, you may find image of venues that appear to have blue sky and white clouds but they are all false colour...

Venues is considered our twin due to its size and age only

  • Venus ....

  • That is Mars mate.

  • lol

  • in books and footage the colours are often altered to make them look moor like youd expect it to

  • That's only with Mars.

  • 'thought'

  • i fort Mercury was red 2 - I thought so too. Dickshit. You're not using a mobile phone now.

  • Maybe he is. Either way, it's no excuse for not typing properly.

  • This People Ent Dumass

The smallest planet in the Solar System is Mercury. For the longest time, the smallest planet was considered to be Pluto, but now Pluto isn't a planet any more, so we're back to Mercury.

    BooooooooYahhhhhhh you wankers

  • Pluto is no longer classed as a planet as it slowly orbits neptune.

  • the reason is because of its size, beside it does orbit the sun on it own.

and its now classed as a Dwarf Planet

  • lol it not the smallest pluto is

  • Pluto isn't a planet dip shit

  • Pluto is smaller, yes. But Pluto is now not classed as a planet. Thus Mercury is the smallest planet of the solar system. I mean Eris is bigger than pluto and that to is to small to be classed as a planet.

  • I thought pluto was smaller than Mercury. At least that's what I learned in school.

  • pluto was de-classified, so is no longer considered a planet.

  • Freddie

  • Interesting stuff! The girl is also cute too.;-)

    She knows her stuff.

  • don no man but this astronomy is so interesting... the guy talking about Mercury 2 days = 3 years and for moon 1 day = 1 year.. damn interesting.......

  • AGH WTF IS THAT!

  • Aw, she's a cutie :)

  • thats what I thought within the first second =D

  • @HytchJR i have ADD was just bairley able to watch this

  • At 1:40 she says you would be able to see the stars ' like what we saw when the men walked on the moon ? yes she says, but the Apollo Astronoauts said that they did not see any stars at all ? moon hoax is what they are saying.

  • @trebleclefts For the last goddamn time, CAMERA =/= REAL EYESIGHT. Even game developers have trouble grasping this concept.

Cameras have this problem where when it sees something bright, all the dimmer lights get even dimmer. Seeing as how stars are relatively dimmer than sunlight reflecting off the surface of the moon, what you get is you can't see the stars.

  • My old uni :)

  • y have u got an umbrella when its not even raining

lol was it just for that short gag at the end

  • Good point

  • I do hope you are joking...

  • You should read the Qur'an mate (maybe you have), its a scream!

If you want to find out where all the hatred comes from, read the Qur'an and hadiths from their own sources, it'll shock you (most Muslims are unaware of the meaning of the Qur'an as they just parrot it in a language that 99% don't understand and in a dialect that even the so-called "scholars" struggle with. Converts are given the few "tolerant" verses out of context to fool them.

Religion would be funny if it wasn't so dangerous.

  • haha so true =D

  • @dhimmiwit

now THAT's just being cruel... true but cruel :P

  • Quite interesting.

  • to explore space, you never know what is out there, there could be more creatures living out there

  • thats just what id expect some to say with the user name 'fannypenis'

  • Nice to meet you

  • lol

  • not with that attitued we wont lol

  • Oh dear then.....no hope for us lol

  • So we know what's there? To explore? Because we can? Maybe it'll be useful in the future when we leave this planet and make colonies on others.

  • Why dont u just stay at home and study your porno collection instead? maybe then you will find out somthing useful. lo0o0o0o0olo0olo0ol.

  • yeah, you are right. And the earth is flat!

  • Yay, Einstein!!!

  • Dude, you are a moron. A they didn't say "earth years". A year is the time it takes for a planet to make a complete orbit around the sun.

  • What, you would be the same age on earth as you would be on mercury, you would be 10 earth years old if you lived on mercury for 10 earth years or if you lived on earth for ten earth years... thats how time works...

  • thank you for the responses everyone!

  • Interesting and Educational thank you

  • interesting! :D

  • Very interesting info, thanks!

  • His picture frame faces away from the observer.

  • I'm in love with blondie...

  • you should have waaay more views

  • yeh, some adverts would do the trick :P

  • @iBO0M maybe the reason they dont is that perhaps many people watch it on sixty symbols site and maybe it doesnt count in

  • I love these planet videos, keep them coming!

  • Not really.... Lack of atmosphere would let the light escape and not keep in trapped so it would light would shine and the extra would just shine past the surface. No atmosphere would make the sky dark and show stars easy as long as you arent facing the suns total direction.... And if you didnt get burnt up in a few mins as well.

  • why is mercury not considered a dwarf planet????

  • Because it is considered Geologically active, pluto is a dwarf planet because it is basically a big ball of ice.

  • Because the arbitrary classification system we've come up with defines it as a planet. It got the first two parts down, being round due to gravity, orbits around the sun, but it sucked up all the solar detritus around it, and thus isn't a dwarf planet. Not that the planets care what we call them of course :/ They just chug around the sun regardless.

  • Ahhhh beat to the gun!

  • XD thx guys

  • And now we don't classify Pluto as a planet anymore ;)

  • because mercury has a correct orbit unlike dwarf planets like pluto

  • @jaymac9456 There's no such thing as a "correct" orbit. There's an extrasolar planet that orbits its parent star diagonally compared to the star's equator.

Pluto was "demoted" because it hadn't cleared its orbital path of objects (in this case, that would be Neptune [or other kuiper belt objects. I can't quite remember]). I'm guessing that's what you meant by "not having a correct orbit"

  • "If you lived on mercury you'd be much older than you are on earth " , i remember hearing the same thing when i was young about Pluto ,and i got it the wrong way and assumed that the human growth is actually controlled by the sun ,an so i kept thinking for more than five years that if you put someone away from sun he won't age at all XD

  • I'd be 87 years old lol

  • Great video. i learned a lot about mercury.

Also, the female scientist has the most beautiful blue eyes. Smart people are so damn attractive.

  • knowledge ftw
