it is not this easy, even more advanced tools and practice it takes more time than he had to show us on here. the "jiggling"...there's more to it than that. I would guess he opened up his pad lock and removed most of the pins. This can be done quite simply using only a screwdriver, it's a great way to get practice and to better understand the inner workings of a lock. If you want to try, purchase a mid grade dead bolt, remove two to three of the pins and reassemble it.

be warned, you will more than likely ruin at least one lock just in trying to remove the pins. However, you will learn a lot about the inner workings of a lock and how to pick them if you can successfully take it apart and put it back together. I started picking two pins, added another, and worked on three until I could master it and so forth and so on. practice makes perfect :-)

No this doesnt work on house locks. Go to howstuffworks for info on different locks. Plus, if youre smart youd get a deadbolt. This is america people. @MagicTeacher515 you might just be jiggling in the same place, you need to push each pin up out of the cylinder (there are about 4 or 5). so try going way back with the pick, pushing up, come out a little to the next pin, do the same, and so on.
