I love the intro of this part. This cantata is like a really good book. It grabs your attention from the beginning, and keeps it there until the very end. <3
@edgeypoosisepic gerald barry? it's awful. i couldn't even bring myself to listen to it to study it, so i messed up my pres. :/ it's like a cat being attacked with a variety of musical instruments.
@DarkZekeX i'm not complaining, i'm just saying i don't like it and find it difficult to listen to. the same as any justin bieber song. and way to post two rediculously crap attempts at insults, fag.
@DarkZekeX i'm not crying, whinging, or complaining and i never was? and no, i have not. i'm not too keen on classical, and i don't see how that's relevant. your channel says your 24? seriously man, don't you have more important things to do than trying to act like a big tough guy on classical videos on youtube and failing terribly? you're such a fucking loser. and a bad troll.
@DarkZekeX yes, but that doesn't mean i have to be in love with classical. i listen to most styles of music, i like to try and have as diverse a taste in music as possible. i like vivaldi, some tchaikovsky, a little bit of mahler. i prefer jazz, rock, metal, grunge, folk, techno//d'n'b/all that electronic music, reggae, blues, a little bit of swing, indie/alt whatever that's called, and some pop stuff, to name but a few.
Anyone who can't appreciate a masterpiece by the greatest musician that ever lived probably should NOT be studying music. Stick to your basic arpegiated melodys with same old 4 chord progressions on the radio :P
i agree with you, people should know how to appreciate something they aren't used to, but you're an elitist dickhead-- knowledge should be it's own reward, so stop touting yours like you're hot shit; fuck you
@Octalin96 That honestly was not my intention i was just making jest as i was angered by the comments i'd read bellow. i apologise if it came across as elitist.
@reeceodaking Bach is nowhere near the greatest musician in my opinion, if you can't appreciate that others won't like the music you do, you shouldn't even be talking about music.
@reeceodaking I agree with you, but you shouldn't be forced to study a set list of pieces, there is alot of great music from the past half decade or so, not just our generic radio shite, Classical isn't the only genre that breaks away from the box, and its only your opinion that he is ''the greatest musician that ever lived''. Being forced to study a piece just because it is accredited with being the most profound piece ever written really counteracts what you are saying.
Wonderful performance of one of my favorite Bach canatas (in which I sung tenor in the choral movements back in college). I can also recommend a very fine 1-voice-to-a-part performance by Joshua Rifkin's Bach Ensemble which performs this chorus somewhat faster.
Is this the whole piece?
