let me tell you something, once you have got your cartilage pierced you do not touch it or play with it because it'll form a bubble and get infected, i have had mine done for 3 days and have not touched it since.
i have 8 earrings currently , 6 that ive done by my self , when i did my cartilage the first time i did it in the same spot you did , but with a safety pin . then i liked it so much that i put one right above it in the upper corner both on my left ear . i also did one on the lower left and 2 on the lower right (not including the first pair i got done professionally) was about 2 years ago in the spring when i did my first one and ive had no infections on any of them (:
to be honest you shouldnt pierce any part of your body unless your a perfessional i got mine done it took up to 6weeks to heal though if your not using the right stuff to clean it and if your not cleaning it properly i'd take it out the 6th week after getting it done and clean it and put it back in do that everyday,
if it goes really manky and VERY infected i suggest you take it out let it heal up and mabey get it done after 2weeks by a perfessional.
Hahaha!! If you actually listen to the idiot spouting claires accessories type advice then you deserve an infection and your ear falling off. Infact I think it's best if you remove your ear now yourself, it'd be probs safer all round.
If you want REAL advice, actually use google or go to a proper piercer. Or you can take the advice of idiots, hey it's your call....good luck!
And it takes 12 weeks for a cartilage piercing to heal (recommended time) but if its clean and your not getting any pus you can change it as early as 6 weeks but if when you take the piercing stud out the stud is dirty, clean it, put it back in and wait i bit longer :) x good luck x
@MeetMyMonster Cartilage piercings take way longer than 12 weeks to heal, they take up to 2 years to fully heal and you deffinitely shouldn't be changing the jewellery as early as 6weeks unless it's really needed. but then you shouldn't be getting them gunned either...
@L0stf0rw0rds I didnt say anything about piercing it with a GUN never ever ever do that and thats funny the piercer told me 12 weeks.. so.. yeah im gonna listen to them not you xD
Your piercing looks fine :) it takes 48 hours for any piercing to settle even if it looks fine just five minutes after :) you should be twisting it three times a day (meaning 3 turns x2 times) but not when the piercing is dry! you need to get some piercing cleanser in there to keep it clean, otherwise when its dry it just moves bacteria into the piercing, whihc nobody wants also when its wet (shower) you can move it around but dont soak it in water (bath, swimming) for 2 weeks but looks gd
@MeetMyMonster Piercings can take a lot longer than 48 hours to settle down... Twisting doesn't help. At all. It just irritates it and makes it worse. And don't use 'piercing cleanser' - sea salt soaks with 1/4 tsp of sea salt to a mug of boiled (but cooled down) water. >_<
@L0stf0rw0rds Actually i meant as in for it to get over the initial shock.. twisiting is much better than moving backwards and fowards but you should only do it when its clean.. And by cleanser i mean either a cleanser antibiotic or salt solution because they are what you use to cleanse a piercing, and honey its actually 1/4 teaspoon to a egg cup more to a mug... but were practically saying the same thing in different ways...
It will take about a year to heal properly... don't twist it to clean it, push it forward and clean around the bar at the front and then push it back and clean around the bar on at the back. It does look normal but you shouldn't have done it yourself.
@peglegelizajackman Haha thats so weird thats almost exactly what my dad said lol!! But i did twist it all the time and i hardly ever cleaned it and it has healed perfectly, So i just guess i'm lucky :D
@marissasheaxx3 A good piercer would told you that you need to leave it alone and don't twist it cause by twisting it you could break the tissue inside trying to heal.
anyway if you get it with a gun it explain a lot of things... you can't say any advice about the after care piercing cause you don't even understand that guns are bad, especialy for the cartilage.
@PregnantWhaleOnE any person with piercings would know if you dont twist it twice a day when you first get it done the skin will heal around the piercing and you wont be able to take it out with out it hurting.
HAHAHAHA...I suppose that advice was given to you when you got pierced by a gun huh?
Seriously, don't twist them. It only irritates the fistula and creates scar tissue. Your skin will NEVER heal onto the bar. The resistance you feel while twisting it is the lymph (blood fluid stuff) that your body uses to help heal itself. If you twist the bar you are dragging the crusty bits of lymph throught the new hole and irritating it.
@skunkandwilbur lol actually yeah, what does that have to do with anything? & damn calm down, it's just piercings were talking about. no need to flip shits.
