  • Please explain to me why spirulina is an okay food. It is a Gram-Negative Bacteria. That means that not only is it hard to break down, but also it is has lipopolysaccharides, whitch act as an endotoxin, and can be deadly!

  • Well, I would like to hear what the uploader panmagic has to say on your comment. Hopefully he will take the time to respond.

That said, I've been taking spirulina tablets ever since a Registered Nutritionist recommended them to me. I was also sold on them after the famous Drs. Mehmet Oz and Michael Roizen started recommended "blue algae" supplements to those who don't want the risk of mercury contamination found in fish and fish oil. Blue-green algae is also more pure form of DHA than fish.

  • Thanks I am initiating a conversation about spirulina with him. But I talked with the doctor at cyanotech, and he didn't have anything other than studies to position that spirulina is okay. But he said that I do have good standing to make these arguments.
