Everyone thumbs this up so everyone can see it. In the new version, all you have to do is once he gets to the part about dragging magic lantern.fir file in, only take the file for your camera (exaple ml-550d-109) for the canon 550d and also put in autoexc.bin , FONTS.DAT , cropmrks, and rectilin.lut Green lantern automatically installs itself. Everything is on there basically, you can stop after 9:00

i did all wht u said.. but few things.. in the latest download link there is no "make_bootable.sh" so tht makes installation little confusing.. and with respect to my case , i did all wht u told but the display is not proper for videos... its all crashed out kind.. cant read a thing.. its like scratched out and distorted screen for video.. whtz the prob?? hw to fix it ??

I installed this a while back, then uninstalled it, then decided to install it again. For some reason, the March 13 firmware is the only thing that will work with my T2i now. I have tried time and time again installing the July 8 and August 22nd firmwares (separately of course) with no results. When I click "update" on the camera, the screen says "downloading" for about half a second, then goes black and I have to take the camera's battery out. I really would love this new firmware, please help!

@MediaUnlocked I honestly can't tell you what happened because I don't really know. So I backtracked all my steps and I had to do a mix between what's on your video and on someone else's. It's working now with magic lantern installed, the sept update. Now I'm going to test it out. My concern is will the memory cards only work for that camera now?

@MediaUnlocked Yeah I went through the steps on both cards, so far it's been working. But every once in a while it will glitch out and I have to shut it off and take the battery out.

Hey, I put the fir file on my card and was at the part where i needed to update from the 1.0.9 to magic lantern when i got stuck. It said i couldn't install magic lantern, but i don't really know why. I saw that it said bootdisk at one point but i turned off my camera because i got a little scared !!! Can you help me get magic lantern on my t2i? Itll really help me out, thanks!

Hey man, Thanks for the tutorial! Unfortunately for me it didn't work. I followed it to the "t" twice (except I used the july 08 build instead of the March one which you referred to in the video.) After finishing the steps, the camera didn't have ML on it. But when I updated the firmware ML came on it...until I turned the camera off then it was back to the old firmware again (unless I reupdated the firmware all over again.) Any tips on how to make it work? I dont want to update firmware too much

hey just tried to install jul 08 2011 version, however got 2 problems, first is that there are only 6 setting options available - audio, video, shoot, brack, focus, debug, however the version on the vid has loads more, what am I doing wrong? The other problem is that when i turn the camera on, ML doesn't show up, i have to go menu and update firmware each time to ML to load. Pls help

@TheNigelkwan The new Ml has changed since I made this video Its time I do a new update on installing ML. The first thing u should try to do is reinstalling it. If that does not work try an older version. Some times the newest version is a little buggy. Let me know if this helps.

Can you use your t2i normal like before installing? or do you need to have a magic lantern ready sd card to use your camera from day one after installing. In other words after installing Magic Lantern must you always have ML ready sd cards to use your cam?

Ok so i just reinstalled everything and the colors are all crazy. it says, "!!!auto exposure!!!" if i hit the focus button, i can see the image perfectly, but once i let go, it goes back to all of those different colors. ? o_O

@johnnybrazil01 I have use fce 4 before but now use fcp 6 now. Just look up how to use fcp it is very simular to fce 4. Is there is something specific you are wanting to learn I might be able to a tutorial on how to do it for you.
