I didn't buy the set of TV-movies because I thought the SHOW was better. But now I know it has all those great extras, and I WILL buy that set! (Even BEFORE I buy it -- right now -- it's ALREADY freshened my teeth and whitened my breath.....er, I mean
FRESHENED my breath, and WHITENED my teeth, of course! :::: : ) <Tenctonese Smilie
The reason that AN still has fans is because AN is / was THE best show of any genre EVER on TV! EVERYTHING about it was 20 stars out of 10! (If I ever win the lottery........ : ) Lewca!
I loved this show too and we really got ripped off big time. I worked for it to come back, and it really affected my life. I too love Eric, and am known to him and Ken Johnson. Will always be an ANER!
I was a fan of the 80's show. I really did'nt care for any of the comedic undertones of the show, however. I would love to see a modern remake but with a little more darkness and seriousness to it. The show however did deal with serious issues such as crime, immigration, teen sex and prejudice. I think I would like the show alot more if it had a more realistic feel.
Fox is notorious for not giving some shows a fair chance. They claimed that " Alien Nation " wasn't pulling in ratings, which is 24 - karat BS. Its fanbase would beg to differ with that. I frakkin' loved the show because of the commentary on race relations, the relationshis were great. Very character - driven.
@knoxvilleguy2 Character-driven -- right! I once read that the difference between "soap opera" and great literature is that soap opera emphasises the situations, whilst great literature emphasizes character! AN IS great "tele-literature"! P.S. When "The Game" first aired, I walked around like a zombie for about 2 months!
(But I was a happy zombie, underneath, because the show -- however chilling -- had a happy ending and was SUCH great drama! "Playhouse 60", like all of AN!
@UTAOUB - I think that AN had both great situations & characters. I wish Sci - Fi / " SyFy " would carry the re - runs ! After all, they still show eps of the original " V ". AN wasn't a " gadget of the week ", " alien monster threat / plot - device of the week " like so much science - fiction - Even the best science - fiction - often is.
Maybe NetFlix or hulu in the US has the episodes, it would be worth a look.
I recently purchased the box set of Alien Nation movies. They were awesome - the gag reels and extras were a great bonus.
I'm rather new to Alien Nation. Got hooked on it after seeing Gary Graham play Soval in ST Enterprise. A 30 year Star Trek fan, I can't believe I never watched this show before. It's ground breaking sci-fi at it's best!
Alien Nation and Babylon 5 rule! agree with knoxvilleguy, PumaSweat, and all the fans.

Fox should go to Hell!!!
Think of the shows they've cancelled with huge fan followings...
Alien Nation, Werewolf, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Firefly, Brisco County Jr,
Sarah Connor Chronicles, etc I can't even name them all.

Fox, in its infinite wisdom, never really gave this show a chance, despite the large fanbase it had.
It had a wonderful undercurrent commentary about racial relations & how America views immigrants.

I definitely agree with you. They REALLY didn't give this show a chance and I don't get why. Why did they cut it?? Does anyone know?

I loved this show, and would love to see these two actors work again. It doesn't even have to be Alien Nation.
