  • Your idea about starting a restaurant sounds very intriguing. What sort of food do you plan on serving? And how formal will the restaurant be (i.e., fancy restaurant versus fast-food place)?

  • MrCropper, I'm very sorry to hear about the health complications. But I'm glad it hasn't stopped you in your very worthy endeavors.

I see that in this video, everything is reflected like in a mirror, making the letters backward. ;-)

What do you think of how Warren Buffett's father was an advocate of the gold standard who wrote fan letters to Murray Rothbard, whereas Warren Buffett is a consistently statist apologist for Keynesianism and President Obama's policies?

  • It's strange what kind of effects you can have with charging people. In the book freakonomics they describe a school that decided to charge when people leave their kids after school for to long. Turns out the rate they were charging was lower than most baby sitters so the parents left them longer. When they went back to not charging the parents saw it as FREE babysitting now.

Money just has the effect of forcing people to think about what they are gaining and losing.

  • Is this a list of the most boring books imaginable?

  • @mathforphysics

I am surprised how unknown and insignificant the books MrCropper reads are. He surely loves reading, that is just reading for the sake of it. Also keep in mind that MrCropper likes to purchase 1-dollar books, so don't look for the crème de la crème of books.

  • Who killed Homer is a good book. Its about the demise of critical and classical thinking in America and the world.

  • Reversing the image is very easy. Just look for any video editing software for Mac...Steve Jobs died, did I mention...Would be great to hear an eulogy for him as well.

  • Normal heart problems are due to poisons that are normal in our diets, namely sugar, alcohol, excess carbohydrates and coffee. You have to cut them out of your diet.

They will wreck havoc on your metabolism with metabolic syndrome and glycation, and their end products like heart disease, high blood pressure, insulin resistance, wrinkling of the Skin, high cholesterol etc

  • Hope you do well.

  • I have that Buffet book as well.

  • 3:30 "by John McPhee"

...Famous for the 1974 nuclear-weapons and terrorism science-journalism book "The Curve of Binding Energy", which included an amusing and prophetic discussion of the security vulnerabilities of the then-new twin World Trade Center towers.

  • Love Buffett. Many don't recognize, the man invests insurance premiums, and no-one has followed (are we dumb?). The hundreds of Buffett biographies follow his stock strategies. While a good stock picker, that's not the key to Buffett's success at all. The reason his wagers play out is the concepts of book value, cash flow and profitability under good management. Buffett just extends these principles into wagers in the lowest risk investments. Low risk high return is at odds with much of finance.

  • @yankeewh1te *I should say, extends these principles with a unique personal qualitative flair or insight like: "Cherry Coke doesn't have taste memory, if you have orange juice for breakfast you're not gonna want it for lunch, coke isn't like that" [not verbatim] — "that's why I bought KO".

  • "Anchorage, the all American city"

Give me a one way ticket to Alaska!

Sorry to hear about the heart — you a coffeehead? Sometimes I'm amped on coffee and throwing heavy boxes around by the grace of this insane reality.

Glad to hear about the student, that's excellent news. Nothing beats fortitude. Keep at it Crop

  • You're back? :)
