  • are there any uses for this other the being cool and can u drink this cus it would be cool to drink it and wile u drink it it changes color that would be cool

  • i dont know if the KOH is safe to drink, but everything else is. also, i should add that it took some experimentation to get the right ratio of indicators, so that one does not overpower the other one at certain pH's.

  • As can be noted from the OH part, this is a strong base, drinking it could be the death of you.

    You shouldn't even handle it outside of a special vented laboratory chamber (acid cabinet we call it here, not sure what the proper English term is).

    but DON'T ever drink a solution that contains KOH! It would cause serious damage to your body, cause it's caustic!

  • youtube wouldnt let me put this in the description for some reason, so i will just put it here: this is what I used:

    8 grams KOH

    10 grams dextrose

    15 drops indigo carmine

    8 drops methylene blue

    all into 500 ml H2O

    After shaking, colors go from blue -> green -> yellow -> red.
