you have too develop your fingertips...for awhile it will hurt but after about a month you will get calluses and it will no longer hurt and youll be able to press down harder and more efficiently

I just bought a LANIKAI ukulele and it has nylon strings on it that sounds ok and I know having many guitars that the strings that come on them are not the best what strings would be the best to use in changing over what name brand and where to get them my music shop does not carry ukulele strings
He can do whatever he wants, just dont tell me all about it while Im trying o watch a Uke video. I do agree with the first part of his comment though.

what kind of uke is that? looks to be a baritone but usually the baritones i see are the same tuning as the top strings of a guitar. but this one looks to have the tuning of a smaller uke.
I just got my first ukulele for about £15 but want to upgrade to something a bit better! Maybe around £50-70. Or is it worth changing the strings and trying to improve the one i have cus im strapped for cash?!?!
depends on the technique....but for begginers..use your pointers for strumming....if you need to alternate with a basic picking and strum pattern....the thumb is good....what ever you feel comfortable with...
