  • awesome thank you!

  • teenager in love?

  • Eric, I've seen your other videos, and I also saw the video with you playing that gorgeous slot head custom Ukulele of yours. Gorgeous instrument. Thank you for this video. I learned a lot, and your pleasant disposition makes the lesson even better. :)

  • Why your ukelele has a longer neck than the ones we see around the internet?

  • My first ukulele lesson!

  • Fantastic , Thanks

  • I just bought my first ukulele, a les paul electric uke. I am loving how straight forward your lessons are. Thanks you!

  • thankyou....

  • Hey, I'd love to learn how to play, is there a certain type of ukulele you'd recommed for a beginner?? :)

  • @ChelseaWithLove yea bec i wanna play them but there are different kidnds and i want a cheap one thats low pay but doesnt u know tune out everymin or is made bad

  • You're the Man!!

  • I can just picture everyone with their ukulele trying to figure it out, haha - thanks a lot! :)

  • Bless you!

  • This is great but a lot of people struggle figuring out awesome strumming like that.

  • Every time i watch these videos it like you guys try to show off and go to fast i dont learn anything i just watch and say wow wish i knew what they were doing

  • These are the chords used in hallelujah by leonard cohen, awesome beginner song :)

  • WICKED :)

  • you're very good:)

  • Haha I love this guy! Going to visit hawaii in college and I'm seeking your store out to browse your uke collections. I got my current one from you guys and It was awesome, you guys assembled it by hand, quality checked it and even put a de-humidifier in the case so it wouldn't warp since it was the dead of winter. If you're looking to buy a uke def go with Hawaii music supply.

  • im just a beginner and i found these videos extremely helpful

  • Thanks, this is exactly the sort of instruction I was looking for as a beginner to keep things going. Subscribed!

  • I am impressed.. want a ukelele, but still cant spell it :D

  • My youth leader who's good with guitars said the "Mohalo" model was a good first uke. What do you think?

  • I'm having more fun with my first ukelele than with my guitar XD

  • This Chord progression is used in so many songs. Those magic changes from grease. Surf. a lot of old stuff :).

  • This instrument seems much more flexible in right hand tehcnique than guitar/bass. BTW, your videos are much more helpful than Expert Village's

  • Ukulele is a beautiful and compact instrument.

  • i don't think i'll ever be able to get those strummin patterns down!!!!!!! ARGH!!! : )

    thanks man : )

  • why do u have the second string upwards in metall, and the rest in nylon?? can u only have metall strings on the ukulele??

  • ive been watching ur vids and i just want to say they have been very helpful!!!! :)

the only problem i have is, i tuned the ukulele, but now when i match your fingers to play the cords, it doesnt sound very well :(

any tips? and thanks in advance :D

  • Just picked up my first Uke, a Kala, I'm in love so far :D

  • this is so hard :( cant get my tuning quite right

  • Thanks alot! I had to sign in to tell you guys this! You've heard it before but, I just purchased my first uku and after watching this video (and a few of your others) I'm startig to figure it out! I like this one alot because it's simple to follow, the tabs shown are helpful!, the teacher seems like a cool/ patient guy and is relaxed and applicable!, and even noodling with some other positions I'm starting to hear cool 'licks'... so thanks for that!!

  • I just got my first Ukulele for Christmas, I'm very excited to learn!

  • You're a good teacher :]

  • I just got a uke today, and this lesson certainly helped a lot!

  • Awesome lesson!!! Thank you!!!!

  • ive been playing for about a year now and your videos got me started. thanks man.

  • is G7 supposed to be easy to finger?? i can't seem to do it right because the finger on the bottom string gets in the way of the finger on the second to top string. and i can't angle my hand the right way. xD it feels like it should be easier because i don't see anyone else having issues with it.

  • @maddiemaneater im having that problem right now XD

  • That's real easy to understand I started with this video and I am now playing concerts:D

  • Thank you

  • Thank you so much :D

  • im going to learn how to play.. lol so i will be watching you lol

  • bäm, you got it!

  • This will without a doubt sound offensive, but I don't mean it to be... Fat guys are the funniest. Sorry if that caused offense

  • @LethalViiper LOL, I know, right?!

I can't figure out why, but "fat" people seem like they are the happiest, funniest people.

  • @CowgirlPianist Only on the outside. Take it from a former fatty. I will never be fat again.

  • You are such an awsome guy!

  • you are a very jolly man

  • yeasssssssssssssssssssss

  • I enjoyed that. I need practice with my strumming.

  • the stings really dig into my fingers when i hold a chord leaving red indents :| does this always happen or am i pressing too hard??

  • it really depends what kind of strings you have

  • @Pollllypocket too hard, especially on ukulele, upgrade to aquila strings, they are soft and provide great sound. i love aquila strings.

  • Practice more. All day every day. If after a month your fingers are still mushy see a doctor.

  • that is the sign of a good days work lol

  • you have too develop your fingertips...for awhile it will hurt but after about a month you will get calluses and it will no longer hurt and youll be able to press down harder and more efficiently

  • that just means you have yet to build callues on your your finger tips after a while you'll get em and the red indents will dissapre

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!! My 3 yr old and 7yr old play the uke nicely and get better every day because of u. Thank u so much! This instument can be the gateway to other string instruments. It was for me but sadly I forgot the uke after I picked up my guitar. I was always sad about that. I won't let my gkids make same mistake! Thank you

  • Thank you soo much guys! I'm a average Mando/banjo/guitar player at best and live in the mtns of TN but since my wife bought me my littie soprano uke I have feel in love with it and the culture behind it. Thank you ...thank you for sharing with us; )

  • Wow! great video, thank you a whole lot.

Do you think that you could do a separate video tutorial of how to do the more intricate strumming patterns?

  • I'm getting a Ukelele for Christmas- I just clicked on this to see how easy chords are to play on them. Now I'm VERY happy. I've subscribed for future lessons.

  • I learn so much from you ukulele guys, you so kind so share your knowledge and you're always smiling.. love you.. thanks.

  • sorry it is a concert LANIKAI

  • I just bought a LANIKAI ukulele and it has nylon strings on it that sounds ok and I know having many guitars that the strings that come on them are not the best what strings would be the best to use in changing over what name brand and where to get them my music shop does not carry ukulele strings

  • try getting Aquila Nylgut strings, they're are one of the best out there and have a great sound. =]

  • supppppperbbb!!!!!!

    thankyou for this!

    love life - go vegan

  • Shut up

  • well your not allowed to tell someone to shut up for their own beleifs, BUT i dont think people should tell us how to live our lives.

but cant we just be happy? its a ukelele/ukulele for FREAKIN SAKE, happiest instrument in the world.

  • He can do whatever he wants, just dont tell me all about it while Im trying o watch a Uke video. I do agree with the first part of his comment though.

  • you read comments while watching a vid?

    just dont read them.

also your mums your best friend.

  • hey aaron thanks so much for these videos, u are a fantstic teacher, helping to spred the aloha spirit, stoked!

  • This is awesome for learning the chords- but what I really want help with is being confidant with strumming! I'll go check out some more of your videos.

  • i disagree with ketchup521. this is a very good lesson. it helps me alot. thanks fot the lesson aite. cheers!

  • Loving your lessons, man!

  • i bought a ukulele and i'm waiting for it to arrive. i think your videos are going to be really helpful to me. do you find that the smaller frets makes it harder to play than, say, a guitar?

  • E wat bra u think u can make 1 betta 1? I no tink so so keep ur mana'o 2 urself ah...

  • Not sure what your problem is but if you couldn't follow the lesson you're waaay too stupid to play the ukulele.

  • what kind of uke is that? looks to be a baritone but usually the baritones i see are the same tuning as the top strings of a guitar. but this one looks to have the tuning of a smaller uke.

  • can we use a pick to strum

  • If you do, alot of players will recomend you use a felt pick. I dont like them but thats what they use.

  • Now I want a ukulele!

How much are they compared to normal acoustic guitars?

  • $40-$300

  • I will buy one.

Do you play it? Compared to acoustic guitar, is it easier or harder to master properly?

  • yeah i do play the ukulele.

and the ukulele is sooo much

easier to play than the acoustic guitar.

  • please check out my free uke album!!

free download of my uke album at pinupforpeace(dot)com(forward slash)pillowface(dot)zip

  • nooo its the easeist thing in the wrold buddy

  • I just got my first ukulele for about £15 but want to upgrade to something a bit better! Maybe around £50-70. Or is it worth changing the strings and trying to improve the one i have cus im strapped for cash?!?!

    any suggestions?

  • stupid question, im a begginer. what fingers are you supposed to strum with? you make it look so easy

  • depends on the technique....but for begginers..use your pointers for strumming....if you need to alternate with a basic picking and strum pattern....the thumb is good....what ever you feel comfortable with...

  • wow. I was so not prepared for the ending. the man got skills

  • such a great player!

how he does that rolling type strum beats me
