I don't like heating them very much but there's a soft brown layer between the shell & meat and you can separate them gently with a strong sharp knife... mine just came off in only five pieces, just shave the brown layer off the meat w/ a potato peeler :)
Nice vid..just wish to add,that coconut milk CAN be drunk straight away,there are dessert recepies,ice creams that can be made from raw cocomilk.its a great source of fat.it shouldnt taste bitter at all,it has normaly a nice creamy texture :)
i try to follow the video instructions.But i fail to separate the brown part from the coconut flesh. How did you do it? maybe ur burn it for sometime?? am i missing anything here?
12 o'clock at night and i have spent 30 minutes watching coconuts -.-

@Pandabearkt
This is correct you can do it without burning them , just cracking them open and then removig the brown tough skin with a sharp knife.

How long do you heat the coconut for?
MaxSafeheaD 3 years ago 2
Place the whole coconut in a 400º F oven for 3 minutes. Remove from the oven; hit hard with a hammer to break it open.
