Thank you so much for posting these videos, having taken devo close to 6 years ago, it's really cool to get a "refresher" from some one like D. Melton! Although, i wonder about the notion that it is a "problem" that beta-cells come from other beta cells, instead of stem cells. Even if this is the case is mature pancreas, I don't think it negates the possibility that science could still continue it's efforts to try and make beta cells from stem cells for treatment of diabetes. @westonp80 ...didn't the beta cell at some point come from a stem cell? And maybe it more of an issue of "instructing" the stem cell derived beta cell to now be the sole progenitor or all subsequent beta cells?
