He believed no man had the right to prevent another from following their True Will, even if the consequences could be described as evil. And he believed a man has the right to do whatever is necessary to follow his True Will

To over simplify, it is the definition of a spiritually evolved person to have a close relationship with his or her own conscience, with your own Higher Self. Among many other things, a man who knows his Higher Self doesnt need morality dictated to him. It comes from within. Such a man is not capable of evil because its no longer in his nature

In some ways, Crowley saw "God" as merely a projection of a human being's own Higher Self, which he called your Holy Guardian Angel. Only humans have a sense of what is "right and wrong". That's what eating the apple in the garden of Eden taught us. But churches place themselves as mediators, telling us to look for God in the sky and only they can point the way

Just like we have people of all political orientations who would like their views forced on others. Democracy is a clash of ideas. But is anyone forcing you to be a church-going Christian? @Rikkangel You really don't get it do you? It is illegal to by gay an married because of Christianity. For the first time since the civil war states are saying they will not regonize another state's right. Vermont, Hawaii allow gay marriage. Several other states have banned it, and in addition have enacted legislation blocking marriages that occur in other states. This is in clear violation of the law, but they've done it anyways. Check and balances indeed.

Accepting such statements blindly is just another fixed form of thinking. It merely means than when we do have to rely on a single human source for an account of history, its accuracy and objectivity must be at least questioned. But most of history does not rely on any solitary source. but many sources and proofs which confirm each other.

And in the absence of proof, a coherent & logical theory based on what is known. But where there is only educated theory its presented as such. History is compiled by historians, scholars, journalists, professors, archaeologists, etc. They are not "those of power". They're people like you and me who became professionals in those fields

As a student of history, no, I most certainly do not agree. No offense, but that's a cliche. History is not written or derived from any single source. There is no official authority of history dictating what is historical or not, except the facts as they are known. Historical narratives are derived from the evidence, from contemporary records, first and secondhand accounts, archaeological remains, etc.

But he believed he was the prophet of a new age and a new religion, Thelemism, which was to replace Christianity in the West. He believed the age of patriarchal religions had passed, as the age of matriarchal religions had passed before it. But Thelemism had nothing to do with Satan or any Christian theological figure whatsoever. He used mostly Egyptian symbolism

Evil is something only human beings are capable of. Evil is created by ignoring your own conscience, which is the voice of your Higher Self. Darkness is not a force. It is simply the absence of light. It is nothingness. And nothingness has only itself to offer - which is nothing.

@xXRobotZombieXx In fact, Crowley's practices had little to do with "worship" of deities at all. The gods were forces to be controlled and bent to his will, or who had lessons to impart. But not worshipped, in the traditional sense. But if you've ever read any of his writings, you'd know it had nothing to do with Satan or Lucifer or anything of the sort.

Not at all. Crowley was not a Satanist in any way. He was labeled as such by those who did not understand what he was about, and be loved the notoriety so he let people label him as they please. But his system of occultism, or "magick" as he called it, had nothing whatsoever to do with Satanism. It was about maximizing human potential and spiritual evolution. He didn't worship Satan

@xXRobotZombieXx Traditional Satanism involved those who believed they could gain by dealing with Satan, or cause demons to do their bidding, etc. They did indeed believe in Satan, which put their beliefs withing the realm of Christian theology.
There have also been those who conducted "Black Masses" more as a statement of freedom from Church indoctrination, etc. Like LaVey, Satan is seen as a symbol of freedom.

What you are calling Satanism is a particular organization's brand, and its later offshoots. They have little in common with what has historically been called the "lefthand path" of many religious ideologies.

Most don't get the irony, analogy, and the metaphor of what he is doing. He is basically making fun of this screwed up world. It is genius in it's own way. He never told anyone to kill themselves. If they did kill themselves then it was just natural selection. Parents just don't want to admit that their kids could be so stupid. It's all a joke and they even show it in this video.
