He also did Shake, Rattle and Roll, an amped up Big River and AC/DC's Back in Black. A blistering set! The vid of Betty is on YouTube. Cheers again, boys and girls!

  • xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • this is a classic rock song by a very classic rock band . pure class

  • I agree

  • Why are we all worried about what guitars they are using or who came up with the song, just enjoy the song, this is classic rock at it's best :P

  • The facts: Other than Bill Bartlett, the guys you see in this video had nothing to do with the recording of Black Betty. Bill's band Starstruck from Oxford, Ohio ( Bill, Tom Kurtz, David Goldflies, & Dave Fleeman) recorded the original track in Cleveland in 1975. after the band broke up, Bill went to NY where the producers edited the song, put a band around Bill and called it Ram Jam. By the way, Bill's inspiration for Black Betty was Bettie Page!

  • This man actually didnt make the lyrics to the song. The lyrics dates back to the 1800's, this song just gave them more...um..spice.

  • Comment removed

  • In fact, Bartlett did write verses 2&3. The core of the song is as you say, from way back in there.

  • Oh i didnt know that! Thanks for telling me.

  • @penn4644 Where's your source?

  • @whitesky0009 The source is stated in the comment. Besides, as a fan and friend, I was there. Bill B. went on to master piano boogie woogie and is now semi-retired.

  • Amazing they were a one hit wonder seeing as how this one fits perfectly into that era of music. Has shades of Kansas, Black Oak Arkansas, Golden Ear Ring and others...........thanks for the memory.

  • What is with the bassist?

  • Bill's guitar was originally a 1954 Gibson Les Paul gold top w/cream P 90 pickups. After years of extreme wear, he rebuilt it with a hand carved birds-eye maple top, 1974 Gibson Humbuckers, abalone inlays, and a headstock patterned similar to that on Joe Maphis' famous Mosrite doubleneck. He still has this guitar, but currently uses a tele style ax he made using Warmoth neck (birdseye) and body (curly maple top) with Joe Barden Danny Gatton designed pickups. See new video I mentioned before.

  • lead singer looks like my uncle haha

  • I see more often people on Les Paul's playing heavy metal and hard rock ^^

Zack Wylde is an exemple among thousands

  • i lov this song its so bad assssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • this lead guitar looks like he has been up for days tripping hahaha, ripping that guitar up I love it :)

  • BEst

  • 4 ever the best!!

  • Who is playing that wicked lead guitar? What model guitar is he playing? Anyone know?

  • I believe it is a les paul somebody please correct me if I am wrong

  • Yeah, it does look like a Gibson Les Paul. I think you're right.

  • Definitely a Gibson - at 3:40 you can see it stamped on the pickup covers.

  • Just cause he is using Gib pick ups doesn't make it a Gib. I don't think any Gib has had a different head stock...from the beginning..

  • It's a Les Paul body style, but the headstock looks different from a standard, custom or deluxe. It's either 4th model Im unaware of or it's a good copy of a gibson. Ibanez made some fantastic gGibson copies back in the 70s. So it's quite possible this is one of them.

  • take that back. I just noticed th Gibson stamped on the neck pickup at 0:23. I then noticed penn4644's explanation for the headstock.

  • this song is the shit!!! lol

  • made in the sevendies but still good today >:D

  • yep yep

  • how much longer are we going to have to wait for a "Ram Jam Behind the music"?

  • Still awesome
