I do have a question though. You said you a fan of bare foot horses, but when horses are on the road, wouldn't their hooves get warn down too quickly without shoes?
@ChrisWere100 That is a problem. In a situation where a horse is on pavement and/or wearing down their hooves extra fast, the hoof needs protection. They also need traction. Some carriage horses have iron shoes with rubber to give them protection and traction. I, however, don't believe that nailing iron shoes on a horse is healthy in any case, so I would propose a number of different boots that protect the horse's hoof and provide traction. (look up "Old Mac" or "Boa" horse boots)
I know ALLLL about horseshoes.... You throw them at pieces of metal :p
