  • Ah a Jewish temple! The perfect place for Peter Jewberg.

  • Those luggage carts look cool!

  • I've been in the Frankfurt airport and got lost, lulz.

  • Don't get laidover in guernsey there maybe I café next to a window view but mesh fixed seating is not what most people would like

  • Unless ur on Delta to Memphis. Packed like a tuna on a cracked bus to a raggdy hotel.I was VERY happy to leave.

  • I've been to the Hyatt at DFW airport, they are good... Usually if I have a long layover, I just explore the airport, because I'm an aviation nerd... either that or stay on the aircraft, if using the same aircraft for next flight.

  • Ironic how a German airport has a Synagogue.

  • JEW OF THE WORLD

  • jewish temple- sinagogh/ solel. LOL

  • The Hyatt at DFW is wonderful. My sister and I had to layover there one night and the staff was very courteous. And they had probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.

Another airport that has a great layover is Changi International in Singapore. There's a free movie theater, free internet and Xbox 360 usage, clean showers for only 8 dollars, an outdoor terrace, and the most amazing thing - bus tours of Singapore for transit passengers.

  • The safest seate are in the bak and the buisness and the first is in front. Also is a expensiver place unsafer.

  • what the fuck is this

  • ma come è possibile?, chi non vuol vederre è come vedesse l'altro

  • i really enjoy my layover!

i love eat, shop or just be seated with some snacks looking how the planes takes off or lands...

  • toronto pearson layovers are fun

  • Best airport to be stuck in:

Dubai International Airport, hands down the best airport in the world.

  • agreed, especially if you're flying with emirates, they won't make you stay in anything less than 4-star hotel and they'll pay for all of it.

  • this is in his book travel detective bible. it is really good.

  • singapore changi airport.. pool, gardens etc...

  • Hah, Wish I could say the same thing about Pearson, in Toronto. Not only the luggage carts are not "hands-fee, but you have to pay for them to use one!

What a pathetic money-grab form travelers, especially when someone does not speak the local languages or have no Canadian currency on them.

Frankfurt International rulez, I love that Airport!

  • Ive never been in an airport where the luggage carts are free

  • All airports in India have free luggage carts.....

  • US airports would be a disaster if the carts were free. Hundreds of them would clutter the terminal and the parking lots

  • Thats a bunch of bull. Carts are free at your local grocery store, yet you're still able to park your car, and somehow make your way to the door.

  • yur comparing airports to grocery stores? are you kidding?

  • and for a good reason, too. They do it just because they can get away with it. What are you going to to, shop around for an airport with better service?

  • like its the first industry to ever come up with that idea.

why do you think movie theatres dont allow you to bring your own snacks for movies, and then charge you 6 bucks for popcorn?

  • but they don't sell booze, thats why I always bring my own.

  • @krispykreme82603 There's actually a good reason for that - the majority of audiences see movies during the first two weeks. It's also during that first two weeks that production companies take a huge chunk of the ticket profits for themselves(usually 75%, but it's been as high as 90%). So in order to survive, theaters jack up concession prices. It's evil, but a necessary one, and there are plenty of suckers that will buy into it.

  • They charge the carts at the Kelowna Airport.

  • and all airports in india are filthy dirty with massive delays from what i hear :P

  • I know right? That Toronto Pearson charges $4.00 per cart...i was on my way to hong kong via flying on Cathay Pacific Terminal 3..grr

  • it is so stupid because most of the time people don't carry coins with them when the travel and the exchange machine doesn't work all the time and it takes for ever to find $4

  • ohlalala

  • i was at lax for a five hour layover last spring, and it was terrible, i couldn't go out of the gate area because of security, and the only two places to eat were burger king and starbucks. Burger king was extremely gross and starbucks never has good food. The gate area smelled terrible and there were two people throwing up in the restroom. It was also very dirty there too.

  • lol a lot better then

    watch?v=gEyFH-a-XoQ

  • Enjoy yourself fellow traveler :)

  • Yeah, right. Most of us bought our tickets as cheap as possible online, and are happy just to find a Burger King in the airport. If I could afford the fancy hotel, I'd probably be able to afford a direct flight.

  • Zurich is real good. Been to Frankfurt couple of times it's darn huge and hard to move around. Moscow Domodedovo was pretty nice, i liked Heathrow too.

  • Nothing better than shopping, sampling wine and cheese, or meditating in a Japanese garden, while lugging around a 40-pound piece of Samsonite.

  • Exactly. No one needs it.

However, a layover or cancelled flight is stressful enough.

So why not sample fancy cheeses and beverages?

  • layovers are not always fun specially in Paris CDG airport where I had 7 hours of layover (due to missed connect flight and a delay) the best airport for a layover is Zurich

  • cuz europe is the best ...

  • oh i have 2 lay over in frankfurt airport, hopefully not for 9 hrs

  • it is big, but not huge

  • It reminds me of Orlando!

  • orlando isnt that big

    or nice

  • I thought the airport was huge.

  • i've been through the Frankfurt airport. It most definately is HUGE!

  • It is. It seems like it's been under construction forever. When I first moved here in 2006 they had construction and now I'm moving back to the states and it's still. It is a nice airport, especially now that you can't smoke public places in it anymore (you could in 2006).

  • But not among 10 best airports on earth however there is a Munich Franz-Joseph Shtrauss airport wich one is 5th best airport in the world.

  • Dallas finally gets a mention! :)
