I love Jonsi with all my heart but he's not the only member of the band, don't get me wrong, he's amazing but ALL of them are amazing. Kjarri sometimes makes me cry when he plays the piano.
I wish I could listen to all their music once without knowing the language. But still, people who don't speak icelandic don't know the difference between icelandic and vonlenska (hopelantic) :D

Sigur Ros, a band that stands among the giants of this era, with bands like Tool and NIN, although completely diffrent from those bands but unique in their own way.
Definitely, I've always felt the same way. They are all so different, but the fact that they are three of my favorite groups intertwines them in some way. They also share a very minimalist aura; long transitions that build up to these full and big sounding sections that close the song.
That last bit where Verity is recounting her experience of watching Jonsi perform, you can see how visibly moved she is. It wouldn't surprise me if she began crying after the take was done. Jonsi transforms into something altogether different while he's performing as opposed to when he's being interviewed. It's like he can simply be himself and do what he was put on this earth to do....comfortably. Interviewing is not comfortable for him.
Just beautiful! I love Jonsi's voice......I never thought I would , but it adds so much to the tone of the music that if he didn't sing, I would feel so cheated out of all the beauty the music can truly offer. He sings with such emotion, I can't help but get choked up EVERY time.
Iceland is the happiest nation in the world because they have Sigur Rós to claim as their own! :)
