As an actor myself, one reson for that mistake is when the cross edit both scenes at the final stages. See in order to do that one scene it most likely took them a few hours at least, what you dont see is all the lighting equipment to each side of them to get the shot right. So in one full scene she had the purse and the next cut they forgot to add it back in. What you're really looking at is the same scene shot 3 times over and edited together to look like one scene...
