A Dual Rectifier is definitely going to be more sturdy and also would most likely sound different. The 333XL is like a Peavey JSX. There is a common issue were a connector burns on these amps, it is easily fixed by cutting out the connector and soldering the wires to the board. I've done this and gigged this amp at least 75 times this past year with no problems at all. The knobs are plastic which is something to keep in mind if you are particularly abusive with gear.
