The Lake District is a great place to take some time out from day to day stress, the video represents the best of the Lake District, I particularly like the view of the hills and the wild life images.
This is the good thing about national parks, without them businesses would probably buy the land and build on them good thing government put them in place.
my perfect day at the lakes would be in a transit van on the swirls car park with paris hilton and janet jackson. we would have plenty of sex then head off to thirlmere to meet up with the whole MTV crew for a post sex analysis. with ted bovis (from heidi hi) acting as porno referee.
the beauty of the lakes, wild, caring unfoling hills, mountains jagged against the skyline, weather ever changing against our predictions. thats the lakes.
i love cumbria !!! and i am cumbrian :)
hope to meet you one day fellow walker of this finest land :)
Yo Pip I heed your experienced words very much but i tell you, once you lived in the South East for 30 years you'll pay anything for a home like you have....provided you can afford it, its horrible down here.
I'm sure you'd all love to live here but it is a heavily tourist orientated area and serves mostly tourists needs not locals. We have to fund extra homes council tax relief through our own, car parks (no concessions) street parking permits are needed for outside homes, policing etc. It's very pretty but very expensive and your working too much to enjoy the scenery most of the time! That said, the visitors we receive are generally lovely people and welcome any time.
yh trust me its very peaceful. very nice place to stay. i just came back from their. i went with my school to the castle head centre. and my first day i had to clmb the mountains near lake district. The airplanes are very loud though. but on the mountains there are very clean lakes. very nice place indeed
Call me strange but i love it when it rains in the english country side, don't know why but it just seems very peaceful to me, makes you foget about the chaos of everyday life, love the lakes so much, 5/5
Travelled alot around the uk and return to the Lake District each year. glad to see other poeple enjoying such a lovely place too. I hope to live there one day. great video
That is so beautiful and relaxing. I've been watching it at the end of a hard day at work and it clears all the stress away! Thanks. I'm heading there in October.....counting the days!
hi boberik the mountains there are just over 3000 ft but look huge esp.when ur 8-9 years old living there like i did :) 35 years ago.... I remember it like yesterday miss Cumbria so much..stuck in the USA :(
it says the rain has moved on. Still waiting for that to happen. And I couldn't go out riding last week because it was bloody chuckin it down. But make no mistake, I love it. Not the rain, the Lake District. And I love Perfect Day.
Well I s'pose it stops sometimes.... but not very often. Lol.
You haven't seen beauty until you've seen the lakes in rain as well as snow and sun: wrapped up warm in woolens and waterproofs or sat in front of a log fire drying off...beaut.
I've been there eighty separate weeks, rain was not a problem. Some weeks were poor weather admittedly, tho they were not the norm in my experience. And some weeks, maybe a Feb or a September were bliss!!
I used to go to the Lake District on many holidays with my family before my grandad passed away, its such a beautiful place. This song always reminds me of it & makes me cry ^^
Thankyou for posting this, you've brought back some lovely memories =]
I'm glad you liked it, and you're welcome. It's a magical place. The song used to be the theme for peter rabbit and friends; other than that it doesn't have any association with the Lakes...except to us ^_^
they're all taken around chapel stile, grasmere, windermere, langdale, coniston, hall dunnerdale, troutbeck, barrow etc...I couldn't be any more specific, sorry!
