  • imho very dangerous bike riding.

If I may : take better care of yourself :)

  • what a bell end !

  • Can you come up to Leeds and teach some of our cyclists to speed up a bit.

Or at least teach them how to find a higher gear than 2nd :)

  • How the hell do you overtake cars on a damn bicycle lmao? Only works for me if they're stationary, or slowing :L.

  • @wazztie16 6 raw eggs for breakfast ;)

By not going too far and only showing you the fast bits (not the fat man porno bits).

I can't keep up these speeds for a long distance, but have nice thick legs for a bit of power now and then.

  • Haha, fair enough, i do ride a bloody 20 tonne (feels like it) mountain bike i guess, that probably doesn't help. Always wanted a road bike, just worried because i have bad luck with punctures, the gel tubes do the trick on the current bike :).

  • @wazztie16 I don't want to jinx myself,.....

The tyres my bike came with were crap, puncture every 50 miles or so...or more!! Especially in bad weather. They really were useless.

I've had different sorts since, and yeah, do get punctures but no as many.

I'd recommend getting a road bike, they're good fun....and it's nice to not have to cart as much weight around :)

  • Yes, they llok like fun, i cycle to and from work and would much rather have one, saying that i plan to do more BHF rides, and enjoy the off-road aspect, so the mountain bike is doing the job atm :)

  • @thomase1 I now do have a road bike, i'm faster than before weeeeeeeeeeeeey :)

  • @PoliceMadAd hehe, nice one!! :) Need to tuck in behind lorries and get dragged along (not the safest thing, probably!) :)

  • @thomase1 Yeah, i love it, and the airzound, and my knog lights or whatever they are :L

  • Consider also that narrower tyres have less contact area to gain a puncture :p

Start worrying about it when you are cycling in lanes where they cut the bushes and leave the crud all over the road :p

Can still get good speed on an MTB though, don't assume a race frame is all you need :)

  • Never seen it that way, having less contact area, i've only just fixed my current bike though, and with learning to drive atm, no road bike for me yet, but i'll get one within the year, hopefully. Do you do any of the BHF bike rides?

  • Blimey, you were getting some good speed there! Nice when you can race traffic like that.

  • @jonredhornet yeah! that's why I quite like going around the ring road....the cars make good training tools ;)

  • how fast u were going?

  • @BrundukasLT Depends at which bit...my max speed today was 33mph...sooo, between about 20-30mph for the most part. Not too shabby...though I am helped that the bits are slightly down hill :)

  • ....exactly which part of the boy racer is in you? :-p

    Fnar fnar.

  • I think it was somewhere near the ring road. ;)

  • I've heard some people call that area a 'one way street' before.

Oh dear, I'll get my coat... :) Sorry Thomass.
