I wonder what year this skit first aired. I'm guessing it's from 1980. But I don't know for sure. I know Brian Muehl played the role in this clip. And I know Brian left in mid-1984. Also, what episode was this from?

You can see the first sketch with Telly on the DVD set "Sesame Street: Forty Years of Sunny Days". That sketch appeared in Season 10.
Is it just the video quality - or does Telly have facial hair?

Not only is the sandwich now on the floor, it had also been in Telly's mouth earlier. So it can't really be properly served to anyone.

I think his voice is deeper than usual because Brian is attempting a French accent.
