I've read plenty of feminist literature and it is all very similar and follows one central theme. There is definitely a broad spectrum of feminist thought, but in my opinion and my experience with the scholarship, female complicity is not overlooked but treated as a symptom of a power relationship, in the same way that many black slaves told their masters that they love being slaves (the Aunt Jemima myth, if you're interested in googling that). When I started college in 1990 the university forced me to see a sociologist who taught me how not to rape women. Why? Because I was male and therefore did not know how not to rape a woman. Today women live longer than males and consume 2 our of 3 dollars spent on health care. Women have an office of health in every state government and federal government.

The history of this "fashion" comes from a time when women were supposed to look good so that they could be married (or purchased, if you want to be serious) so that they could be a servant to a man. Spousal rape did not become illegal in many US states until the late 20th century. In Sweden spousal rape didn't become illegal until 1965. It didn't become illegal in Germany until 1997.

@Kenshiroit Women do show interest in politics, but we also have to recognize another factor here, which is social conditioning. Women and men are treated in very specific ways in our culture. Men are much more encouraged to be political whereas women are not. Women internalize ideas about how they are "supposed" to behave in the same way that many African Americans advocated slavery--they were raised to think that way, and the people in power applauded them for those attitudes.

Feminism a history of perversions. I have no doubt that satan influenced this movement into the world to bring about further chaos in the end of times. In whole though, feminism is a gender egotistical view of the world that denies the whole and perverts the gender roles. Feminism is extremely sexist, double standard and hateful towards half the world, namely the male gender. It should be outlawed as a real thoughtful situation.

The only organized group that opposed the vote for women was a women's group. They opposed it because they didn't want to be drafted. And sure enough men still have the obligation of military service and women have no such obligation. We're all equal, but women are more equal.

The real reason that men earn more than women is because men are judged by their status and wealth, while women are not. As long as that continues men will endeavour to earn more, and will often have wives or girlfriends who are very happy about that. The arguments about equal pay are all based on the utterly demented Harmanesque viewpoint that women have the same collective desire for career progression as men

I suggest you read some Shelia Rowbotham, Bell Hooks, or Andrea Dworkin. The terms are not dehumanizing. Mysogynist and sexist are more like the word "racist" in that they identify prejudice so that prejudice can be made visible and held accountable. Do you think the term "racist" is dehumanizing?

I've read plenty of feminist literature and it is all very similar and follows one central theme. No matter what the problem, no matter how much control women had over it, no matter how complicit women were in the problem, no matter how much they benefited from that problem, EVERYTHING is men's fault. Men are the wellspring of all women's troubles.
When an ideology scapegoats an entire group like that they are engaging in hatred. Nazi's did it. Feminists do it.

There is definitely a broad spectrum of feminist thought, but in my opinion and my experience with the scholarship, female complicity is not overlooked but treated as a symptom of a power relationship, in the same way that many black slaves told their masters that they love being slaves (the Aunt Jemima myth, if you're interested in googling that). Not men, but patriarchy, is the problem. Men are of course the beneficiaries of female subjugation tho. :(

So what you are saying is that just because some (many) feminists wrote about their hatred of men doesn't mean all women hate men? And yet they subscribe to a political philosophy which blames men for everything.
Feminism believes in group rights and group offenses. That men, being part of the patriarchy and benefiting from it's privilege are guilty of oppressing women. Therefore, women who benefit from the hatred of feminism are guilty of being hatred themselves.

I would suggest that, as a man, you listen to what women have to say, as what they say about their lived experience will be a much more accurate depiction of their lived experience than your or my conjecture.
Women are treated as objects which must be held to extremely high standards, none of which include intellect or independence.

Women treat themselves as objects. No man makes a young girl run around in low rise jeans with a thong hanging about the back. No man makes a woman mutilate her body to get bigger boobs, thinner thighs, or a smaller nose. Women do these things because they know that beauty is power.
And since almost all women do these things at some level, then some men think of women as objects. They bring it on themselves. Perhaps they should bring something more to the table.

I've listened to the feminist point of view. I read their studies. Many of which are bold face lies that were eventually disproven.
When I started college in 1990 the university forced me to see a sociologist who taught me how not to rape women. Why? Because I was male and therefore did not know how not to rape a woman. That was discrimination. Imagine if a university force blacks to attended classes on how not to steal or sell drugs. It would be racism outright.

Today women live longer than males and consume 2 our of 3 dollars spent on health care. Women have an office of health in every state government and federal government.
Women have offices promoting their interests in the dept. of education and labor and on and on. And yet boys have the highest drop out rates and only make up 42% of college enrollments.
This is equality?

The history of this "fashion" comes from a time when women were supposed to look good so that they could be married (or purchased, if you want to be serious) so that they could be a servant to a man. Spousal rape did not become illegal in many US states until the late 20th century. In Sweden spousal rape didn't become illegal until 1965. It didn't become illegal in Germany until 1997.

That's a completely unsubstantiable generalization, and in fact there is a lot of evidence to the contrary--that women work harder than men for the same financial reward. I completely agree that society is always slow to change, but that is precisely because of sexist attitudes that assume that a man has a RIGHT to have sex with his wife whether she consents or not.

Men tend to take more dangerous and hardworking jobs while women do not. Its not a generalization. Women on other hand tends to take more low paying jobs. If the girls can stand the training and the tough life of the army, I dont see any problem, if they dont (and not all guys can manage it either) they should not be allowed to stay.

@Kenshiroit Women do show interest in politics, but we also have to recognize another factor here, which is social conditioning. Women and men are treated in very specific ways in our culture. Men are much more encouraged to be political whereas women are not. Women internalize ideas about how they are "supposed" to behave in the same way that many African Americans advocated slavery--they were raised to think that way, and the people in power applauded them for those attitudes.

I also think usually women let men do the "dirthy work" and they tend to mistrust each other. BUT nothing prevents them to go in politics and take high offices. And nothing prevents them to vote female canditates. And I can see you failed to post the list of offices where women are denided.

Yes, spousal rape is a huge problem (sarcasm) Maybe the reason it wasn't considered rape is because marriage was an agreement between a man and woman that said, "I, the husband, will work my ass off to support you and our offspring and die to protect you and you the wife will grant me unlimited access to reproduction."

@gamenode the female draft is also a good idea, but on paper. If a soldier is unable to compete with the team, he/she may put the entire unit in danger. So hmm, if women should be drafted, only who have the psysical abilities to compete with they'r male comrades should be allowed in the front line. Other may do non combat task. But this is not a easely solvable problem. But I stand to my earlier comment, only who is capable, gender or color is irrilevant.

The marriage price did not make women property any more than the engagement ring (marriage price) makes women property today.
In fact, the marriage price was used to discriminate against men and force them to prove they were worthy of marriage. Far from being an imposition on women, it was what women wanted and demanded back then. It was discrimination against men!

The thing about jewelry is that trying to impress a woman with an object is a form of manipulation, like attracting a rabbit into a trap with bait. You are not recognizing the rabbit as an individual by offering the carrot--in fact, the carrot/jewel is something you are using in order to manipulate the person so you can exploit them for their bodies.

In order to say white male privilege is bullcrap, you have to say that women are legitimately that much less interested in holding seats of power, and furthermore that the history of women being forcibly kept out of those positions is merely coincidental and in no way carries over to women holding few seats in power today.

Privilege is invisible to those who have it, so you really need to do some serious self-reflection and reading and have an open mind if you want to see another perspective. Personally, when I think oppression might exist, I investigate it thoroughly because I want to be aware of it and fight against it. Just me.

White people also comprise a disproportionate percentage of those positions relative to the percentage of caucasian people in the country. Again, you can eithr say this is due to historical racism and the fact that powerful people have powerful sons, or Mexicans and blacks are just dumber and more passive...

Something being illegal has little to do with whether someone who is oppressed can do something about it. Lynching was illegal in the South. That doesn't mean anyone was prosecuted for it. Rape is illegal today, but seldom is anything done about it. (This is based on statistical conviction rates).

Yet when a member of the subordinate class is even SUSPECTED of rape they ARE lynched, and no one is brought to justice for the lynching, because the powerful class that controls the institution of justice is the one committing the crime in the first place.

@Kenshiroit So again with the case of prisons, a disproportionate number of minorities are in prison, while I think we can agree most white collar corporate criminals rarely serve much jail time, if any. There are two possible explanations for this. Either minorities are in fact "bad" people--which is racism in its purest form--or minorities are victims of historical racism that still manifests itself today, and causes economic hardship which all experts agree is the direct cause of crime.

In the 1900 prisons were full of italians but when the italian minority became richer and joined the middle class, the number today of italians in prison compared to the last century is insignificant. @Kenshiroit I'm male, but women have more difficulty ascending political and business ranks than men do, for a lot of reasons (which is why I recommend reading womens' accounts). Again, there's a reason that women and whites are disproportionately representative of power positions. You can agree that this is because white males have historically held the most power in society, or you can say history doesn't affect us today and white men really are just better than everyone else...

@JTsmiley14 u r a guy? and so what? that doesent change nada in the argument im making. Anyways can you tell me, in witch fields women and minorities are not allowed into? I asked this before, but maybe u didnt see it. I covered already your questions about women and minorities, and I also told you in non white countryes the elite are native. White males are not better than anybody else, and they are not advantaged than anybody else.

@Kenshiroit I said I'm a guy because you presumed I was a woman, that's all. Women and minorities are allowed by law into fields, but that in no way translates to having equal access. It hasn't been illegal for a black or female to be president of the US in a looong time, so how come all presidents are white males? You can't deny that white males have traditionally held power in the US, so you have to either recognize that history plays a role in the present, or say it's a giant coincidence. :)

@JTsmiley14 there are many explanations on this, rather than make the hypothesis of wmp factual. It is not factual, it is a disputed theory in socilogist enviroments. For make that factual is dishonest. Black women, latinos ect are allowed in politics, but since us is a manly white country a member of any minority has to compete against xxx white candidates. Witch is also fair. They should not get any help bcuz of theyr skin color, but on merit alone.

@Kenshiroit In non-white countries the elite are generally not native. The entirety of Latin American countries are only just now starting to develop native or at least pro-native populations. Bolivia, for example, finally elected a member of the indigenous majority (Evo Morales) which is a departure from the Spanish-ancestral elites that have traditionally ruled. Same for Mexico, where many indigenous people are completely alienated. African and Middle Eastern countries until recently as well.

@JTsmiley14 all southamerican states have native elite. Like ie Cuba dont have a american president, neither Bolivia, nor Cile, nor Brazil. They are local. You mention indigenous local (indios or indians) thats true, but thats not a I mean (USA dont have a Apache president either) but native are local people who live and are born there, and they are all spanish/portughise speaking. Then all countryes more or less has minorities, in Italy there is no sicilian or tyrolese governement.

@gamenode That being said, men do suffer a lot under patriarchy in the sense that we are told to suppress our emotions and must engage in hypermasculine behavior centered around silly things like asserting dominance and competition, rather than those terrible "feminine" characteristics of cooperation, compassion, and empathy. Men and women both possess these "feminine" traits, but men are generally considered feminine (and hence, lesser individuals) if they exhude those traits.

And yet, after 200 years of feminist theory women still seek out the alpha male as the ideal mate. Every woman I know wants a man who makes more money than her, is more popular than her, and has more status than her. It's what women want. And because women control reproduction and always have it's what we strive for because to "cooperate" means you will be denied access to reproduction.
Feminism has sought to change none of this.

And yes i think the word "racist" is dehumanizing because it is mostly used when no racism is present but as a weapon against people who refuse to agree with someone's point of view.
The word misogynist is used whenever a man won't kowtow to whatever feminist BS happens to be spouted at the moment.
For instance, sexism is the belief in the superiority of ones sex. E. Stanton said, "Women are superior to men in every way". That's sexism. But we don't call feminists sexists do we

@gamenode Most feminists do not believe women are better than men. We believe that men and women live in a system that privileges men, as evidenced by women historically being considered property, and by women continuing to make less money than men for the same position and holding far fewer positions of power.
As a man, it was hard for me to come to terms with accepting the privilege I have, but I have a lot of advantages, both financially and not having to worry about being raped at night.

And do you really think those women who run around with low rise jeans and a thong hanging out are in fear of rape? Women who flash they bewbies for anyone with a camera, drink to unconsciousness, and flaunt their goodies for any and every man to see is in fear of rape?
Men have more to fear from the false accusation of rape because it is actually more common. And unlike rape it is almost never prosecuted.

Most feminists do believe they are better than men. Haven't you seen the commercials they play in the afternoon when kids get out of school? "Anything you can do I can do better!" That's the catch phrase telling boys that girls can do everything better than the do. This is female supremacy and it is older than E. Cady Stanton who said, "Women are superior to men in every way." Stanton was the progenitor of modern American feminism but perhaps you missed that in your reading?
