The song itself is pretty sad -- it's about a girl waiting for her beloved - who's away fighting. So seeing people smiling and goofing around would look VERY out of place.

a true communist is an optimist; some would say a naive optimist who does not understand how deeply greed and lust for power are rooted in the human psyche.

Taking the wealth from the wealthy and sharing it with the poor by force is not fair. If you worked for your wealth, than no one should be able to take it. Farmers, who's families have owned certain land for years being taken by the government is not fair. You can't force people to be the same, it just won't work.

The only problem is the same problem that has occurred in the tryouts to reach communism along history (since communism has never been a reality): the practice. You can be a communist politician and say "oh yeah, I'll be loyal to the ideology and try to reach its goal and I will never fuck with the people" but then once in power start killing a lot of people.

Its not the idea itself, but the practice.
