  • All the new Cadillac's look alot like this, a concept in 03, a production design in 2011...lol

  • CAN THEY PLEASE TRY MAKING THIS CAR AGAIN?!?!?!

  • @sw1000xg It didn;t take that long with trying. They weren't trying to make great cars like this for 40 years you silly nitwit. They only try recently and prove how stupid your kind are for underestimating American car makers. They CHOSE not to compete with Europe. They CHOSE to simply sell cheap cars to Americans, because they SAW they could make bigger profit doing so. It's not like they lack capability, but again you're too DIM in the head to understand that. lol

  • @sw1000xg The Sixteen shows that Americans can make cars just as nice as Europeans when we try to. But you numbskulls do not want to admit it. lol... :)

  • @TVRFan11 I already knew before I ever saw this Sixteen car. It's just they choose not to for some dumb reason, and it ticks me off.

  • is this car available to buy?

  • I WANT ONE SO BAD IT HURTS!!

  • do any of us americans say "flatten it" ? what the hell? lol

  • i say floor it

  • @sfsTrader Not me, i usually say "flat foot it" or "open it up"

  • This Is the type of car Cadillac should be making: cars that show everyone else what exactly is what, cars that make u go WOOOOOOW!

  • wtf why didnt he floor it

  • @hu0189743 I know right!

  • i heard that back then when cars were just invented. cadillacs used to cost more than a rolls royce.

  • @veilsidefun car prices were crazy back in the day. in the late 20's there was a car called the Locomobile that cost $10,000 when a ford cost $300.

  • "puff diddly.. puff dudley, or whatever he's called this week." class

  • Love it! A real Cadillac that isn't just a SAAB knockoff.

  • they really should have put this car into production

  • wtf!!! he smoke in that car???

  • Well I heard that the CTS and the CTS-V incorporated features of this concept car. And they got really good reviews. So cadillac is moving in the right direction. But still a long way to go if they want to overtake the Europeans.

  • @mudshovel289 All they would have to do to overtake and leave in the dust, if I may, is build this car. Unfortunately though the one in this video is probably the only one that will ever exist.

  • @counterclockwise123 ....He wouldn't be able to overtake. It's limited to 25 mph, to protect it from people like Clarkson that'd just thrash it.

  • @mudshovel289 "But still a long way to go if they want to overtake the Europeans."

I dunno. Some US cars are working with the Japs. The US has already overtaken europe with Hybrid cars.

Europe hasn't developed much lately, and with rising emission controls etc, all these expensive big engined NA cars they keep developing will be redundant.

Europe just tweaks stuff rather than develop alot. And I mean develop usefull stuff that benefits everyone, not just some toy for the rich.

  • @hawksleyart01 Well I was talking about luxury cars. For example Cadillac is the best luxury brand in America but its only good car that can actually challange the Europeans is the CTS-V. Their whole lineup needs to be like that. But unfortunately in our culture a huge Escalade with shiny rims is considered to be the pinnacle of luxury. This is why American automakers fell behind. They concentrated on making gigantic SUVs because that's what Americans wanted instead of sharp handling cars.

  • @mudshovel289 The US fell behind before SUVs became popular. Government controlled auto making in the 70's, two fuel crisis' resulting in lack of money is what made them fall behind.

  • Cadillac needs to make cars like that! As a company that largely made a name for itself as being a luxury brand, they should be competing with Rolls Royce, not BMW or Porsche or any other type of sporty car manufacturer.

  • @officereagle- I think they should, too. Overall, Cadillac should aim to do what it once did: lead the world in luxury. They must be the ones who set the standard. A good approach to take would be the one Mercedes-Benz does. Mercedes has relatively entry-level cars, a wide range of sporty cars, and top-level cars like the S-Class. Cadillac could set things up in a similar manner. At least their not moving downward in price, like Lincoln seems to be doing.

  • Just make this car! I love it to death

  • Only cadillac for me. Never another choice. I'd whip his ass for lighting up that cigar in my car.

  • what is the name of the music ?

  • Whats the song at 0:46?

  • These nit brits thinks everyone wants to own a prepubecent race car.. While they are test driving cars most people do not want to own the rip on cars people drive every day.. This attitude really destroys their credibility with me. Not every car is meant to corner like a bmw m series. Nor does the rest of the world drive hundred thousand dollar cars .... Some body bring these over played and oaver compensated boys back to middle class... And pass whats his name a brush!

  • @madmatt784 I don't know about you but i love there program and no not everyone can afford the cars the test but its cool to watch the cars and watch a frankly humorous program for an hour. your opinion matters very little to them probably . they do test some cheaper cars as well but why make a program about middle of the road cars all the time it would be boring people watch top gear for a insight to the world of amazing cars not what "madmatt784" considers credible

  • @artx4321 I was lucky. I grew up in the car industry.. I just cant tell you for me how old the next greratest car can be to watch. I have lived in Europe and my father had a itialian Car dealership 30 for years... For me nothing new has come down the pipe since the eighties.. High rate of horsepower verses weight will always build a fast car... Lets see some Hydrogen or new electric cars.... Something new please...

  • @madmatt784 well when enough viewers want it will come i suppose you have been spoilt for you considering your close affinity with this kind of car

  • Did he ever dive it flatout? I wanted to see that! ;(

  • Adam Sandler had this car in the movie "click"

  • They will never say anything positive about Cadillacs

  • It's like a better looking rolls royce. Amazing!

  • They said thats crap with a vette engine.

  • how fast can it go?

  • @0554joe A Cadillac isn't meant to be a speed freak, especially not this one. This car would have been for big corporate CEOs, really, for business meetings and plotting to take over the world. You know, that kind of thing.

  • Has anyone notice the whining noise? If my Cadillac made that noise, I'd want to change the ratio and not bother with 4 cylinder mode.

  • Comment removed

  • wow... smoking a cigar in a prototype concept car worth more than his life

    hes got balls

  • If every Cadillac was like this, Cadillac would be a better brand than AUDI AND BMW.

They need to make this and make it cost $110,000.

I just bought my mom an STS for christmas.

  • i cried the way he lit that cigar

  • @ActionBastard85 ah, come on! 20 mpg aint that bad!

  • Comment removed

  • @ActionBastard85 boo hoo go drive a prius

  • @Inv4derxXx I know right? I hadn't jacked off yet that day or something.

I drive a f150 4x4 lol, I do plan on getting the new Focus ST when it comes out though=)

  • pinche naco como se atreve a fumar en esa nave jajajajaja

  • an american car that COULD take on the bugatti veyron with its 1001 horsepower vs caddy's 1000!! MAKE IT PLEASE, CADILLAC, MAKE IT!!!

  • @jeepgayguy your very stupid!! veyron would kill this, this car is like 5 thousand pounds!!! a veyron is heavy to.. but not as much this .. and its much more aerodynamic... i already read up on the stats of this prototype.. 0-60 is 5.0 seconds!!! a cts-v would destroy it!!! let alone a buggati veyron... silly little boy you.

  • @heyybii i don't give a shit what you think, if cadillac can build this car to prove to the world that they are still on their game with ultra-power and luxury, i say GO, make it and let the rest try and catch up!

  • It wouldn't beat the bugatti obviously but they put it into production already about 2years ago

  • ARRAAARAGGGH! I wanna hear it run! Floor it damnit! Get the stig to run it. Loan it to Autocar, they'll give it a good run.

  • @mikeb1444 It's limited to 25mph because it's such a rare running prototype...thats why knowone will floor it. It prevents people like topgear from thrashing it and potentialy wrecking it.

  • @hawksleyart01

Would it kill 'em to at least rev it? They may as well put a small block in it and it will be like any luxo barge out there. If only this engine was available as a crate engine.

  • Typical, people always bash xomething they secretly like! And the guy drivin the car had hair from 1980 so what does he know about style??!!

  • I wish they would make this car, would really kick some Bugatti ass!

  • @patient451 they did review the caddy ctsV 2010, it spanked the Audi V8 with stig driving it. Said might as well get that Aussie wannabe GTO since it's cheaper... My question is why the fuck didn't they race the. Aussie car rather than the German car to show them what cheap cars are made of and get stomped by the American luxury muscle lol

  • Give them a 2010 CTS-V, and see what Hammond or Clarkson have to say about Cadillac then.

  • @patient451 this was originally aired about 8 years ago, early days of "new" top gear

  • @patient451 they did test it and in the long run they loved it

  • @patient451 Watch all parts: watch?v=rZseBpPufLI

  • @patient451 lmao cts-v lolll!!! i know ur kidding... its okay

  • @JoeCaliforniah not sure why that's funny, but okay.

  • @patient451 They already did that....

  • @PijnigeR I only saw them try out the original CTS, not the recent updated one that rolled out in 08. I don't have BBC America so I rely on what's on YouTube to get this stuff.

  • @patient451 Ah I see. They did a special in the US. They were driving the ZR1, Challenger and CTS-V. Quite the entertaining episode. If you want to see it, which you should, it's Series 12, Episode 2.

  • @patient451- I agree with Clarkson and the others on Top Gear- the Sixteen, big and excessive as it is, is just what Cadillac needs for a flagship. But as for the CTS-V... that is the first Cadillac in decades that really gets the pulse going. "Top Gear" did review the CTS-V a few years ago, and they did approve of it but said it was built a little too cheaply and the steering wheel was on the wrong side.

I, too, would like to see what they'd think of the newest CTS-V.

  • @patient451 The 2010 CTS-V wasn't even out when Top Gear made this video lol.

  • @patient451 thats why they havent done it yet. Because its a good american car, which offends the europeans

  • @patient451 they already did. and they like it.

  • @MeatballYaro2 So I've been told. I haven't seen that episode/segment of Top Gear, only the one where they drove the 05 CTS-V (in which Clarkson managed to find numerous things wrong with it) so I didn't know. But thanks.

  • I love Top Gear soundtracks!

  • We wouldn't say "flatten it". We'd say "punch it", or "step on it".

  • Too bad, they didn't make the car in the end. They are working on a newer car, but it has nothing on the looks (or engine) of this thing!

  • what season is this from

  • @AchievementsRock its actually from Series 2 Episode 10 (20 July 2003)

  • sooo cool i really want them to produse it

  • The good news is, I read in a British magazine about american cars that GM 's profits are soring again and they're wanting to take this project on again.

  • ugliest rear ever.

  • @liolp808 Actually it's pretty stylish. It's different from other cars so that's why it seems ugly to you, but it doesn't seem out of place, it's inline with the front, and also Cadillac's traditional vertical tail lights.

  • @liolp808 Then you've never seen a Rolls...

  • james may for president...

  • I wish gas prices were still low so we could have had more cars like this more cars would be more powerful. Instead now everyone's switching over to tiny cars, hybrids, EV's, and turbocharged I4's and V6's. All someone had to do was slap a few turbo's on this and it would spin the world the other way.

  • this is a very beautiful car =)

  • cadillac payes them alot of money to give it a good review.... american cars fail.

  • @ChsSami

    Guess work fails too!!

  • I saw this car at the nyc carshow years ago, it was only a prototype. It has been my favorite ever since I laid eyes on it.

  • can't believe hes smoking in that car I would kill him.

  • first ever review which my mouth is open in awe all the way through :D :O

  • puff diddly lmaoooooo!!!!!

  • The STS is a fine car and The Northstar V8 is very efficient for an 8 cylinder engine

  • This car and the Mayback Exelero both reminded me of those big, streamlined art-deco locomotives of the early 1900s. 20th Century Limited, etc.

They were so damn cool. Too bad they had no shot at production.

  • The sound inside the car is ridiculous... annoying..

  • tell me how much and where i have to go... cause i $#@^%^ WANT ONE!!

  • god damn it fucking brits....whata waste. How can anyone call Americans snobs when Brits sound like this, even when attempting to shovel out some dumb witted compliment?

  • It's a car supermodel. Lol Auto sex

  • this is a simple and beautiful car.

  • Gorgeous. Just downright gorgeous.

Got to find a way to win the Mega Millions lottery though. :)

  • This is a beautiful machine. I so wish Cadillac would built it.

  • music at 0:22 anyone??

  • They make a good car then they scrap it :(

  • 0.46 - what music???

  • puff didly?? lol

  • puff diddly? wtf

  • Comment removed

  • This still looks better then all the other Cadillacs.

  • Jeremy was doing so well keeping his ignorant mouth shut until he made the American comment.

  • @CoreyForeside You're very good at showing off the fact that you have no sense of humour.

  • @ryder187mac I wouldn't care so much if his humor didn't consist of 99% American ridicule...

  • Comment removed

  • @CoreyForeside Dude, dont take it so seriously. There's no sin we commit the British aren't also guilty of. Think of them as the nexus of block housing white trash with a monarch, and just about the size of Alabama too, 'ello govna! They make some nice ass cars and some pretty good music, other than that its a small fuckin' drab rock with shit to do unless your in London. And they still don't have shit on us.

  • @ActionBastard85 Lol. High five.

  • @ActionBastard85 And don't forget their cars are unreliable.

  • @CoreyForeside Besides, Clarksons a funny old frump. Wasnt born before '57 my arse

  • @ryder187mac

coreforeside is right jeremy is always making comments about america and american cars

i really like hammond and may away better

  • @CoreyForeside it's the same story when American presenters stereotypically insult Europeans (or Eurotrash as the majority tend to call it nowadays) for having small girly underpowered cars, endless nazi jokes on VW and so on.

  • @Dragsteryourself Idk what American presenters you're talking about, but I'm sure they aren't (and aren't even close to being) the world's most famous car reviewer, as Jeremy Clarkson is. He has polluted the minds of so many of his viewers, making them also think that all Americans are rude and fat and all American cars are cheap and insufficient. That's funny considering that he's rude and fat. Maybe he's secretly an American. No, actually, he's just your average British dickhead.

  • @CoreyForeside "Jeremy Clarkson's Motorworld - Detroit"... there're 3 parts of that on Youtube. Watch it, and then come back telling me he ALWAYS is against American cars and Americans in general, go ahead, go look for it you crying asshole.

  • @Dragsteryourself That almost worked, except you forgot the fact that him making a good review of American cars one time doesn't make up for all the crap he's said. Please. And another thing, even in that presentation he was still making a rude-ass comment every 5 minutes, so...Anyway, I know he likes some American cars, it's just that he's too much of an asshole towards us Americans to admit it without some kick-in-the-gut insult.

  • @CoreyForeside boo fucking hoo. Have you noticed how he insults the british car industry? I presume you think thats because he doesnt like brits? No its because he prefers cars to be designed and built properly which is something most american cars cant even hope to claim.

  • @hunghuge12 Hm, I guess he insults the British Car Industry on such rare occasions that I've never noticed. You just can not compare him insulting anything else to how he insults Americans AND our cars. Of course a non-American would be on his side, such as yourself. You aren't on the bad end of the spectrum, like me, a Chicagoan-American.

  • @CoreyForeside Why not try watching things like the british leyland special? An entire programme dedicated to showing how poor the british motor industry was. Or the recent one where they take three british sports cars across their beautiful country.

Or how about just lightening up and taking it as the humour that it's obviously intended?

  • @hunghuge12 Sorry. None of those even come close to evening the playing field. I would lighten up, but I'm too busy thinking about how he's creating these stereotypes for everyone that watches Top Gear. He alone has probably made a lot of people as ignorant as his self, thinking that Americans and our cars can never be good enough, and that's going to be stuck in their minds, as they're too brainwashed to make their own accusations and do their own research before engraving these stereotypes.

  • @CoreyForeside What you mustn't forget is that Top Gear has gone way past the time of it being an informative carshow. Nowadays it's more of an entertainmentshow than before so you don't really take him seriously. Having said that he does love some american cars. Ford GT, Corvette (Although he doesn't really like to admit), and the old 90's Jeep Grand Cherokee. You'd have to have the IQ of a peanut to be brainwashed by him. He is also harsh against the Euro carmakers aswell so it's not just US.

  • @jml8841 He insults the entire French car industry the same way he insults the US. Saying that all Peugeot, Renault and Citroens are cheaply made out of plastic and glued together instead of welded. So don't feel attacked, it's his opinion and if you don't like it then don't watch it.

  • @jml8841 He may like these cars and a whole lot of other American cars, but he will never leave it at that. What I mean is he'll always have plenty of negative things to say before he admits that he likes it. I remember that American road trip episode. He loved the Corvette, obviously. But, he was trying so hard not to admit it. Why? He must not want American cars to be good. He must love the fact that our cars "suck". Why? Is he afraid that our cars might become the standard of the world again?

  • @CoreyForeside As i said before it's an entertainment show so don't be so agitated. He admitted it freely that he liked the ZR1 during the US roadtrip. As for the standard of the world, that only applied to Cadillac and even they were overrated. I have nothing against the US car industry, i even own a US car even though i'm not living in the US. But don't get all patriotic on me, Top Gear is meant to be a joke so just approach it like that and nobody'll get their feelings hurt.

  • @jml8841 Sorry. The joke just isn't funny when you're the one it's about. It's the same as being picked on at school. You're actions are what matter, despite the intentions. He didn't freely admit that he liked it. He kept saying "facts, Jeremy, facts".

  • @jml8841

Clarkson does go on abit when it comes to America. I'm British and I see why some Americans would get offended.

It's like if he tests an American car and it's handling is tricky, he'll call it crap and write it off.

When he tests a european car where the handling is tricky, he'll say it's because of all the raw power it's got and the tricky handling makes it fun and lively.

He does find any excuse he can to try up america like the Lotus v Mustang race...why a Mustang???

  • @hawksleyart01

"When he tests a european car where the handling is tricky..."

Are you sure? When he tested the Vauxhall Vectra, it was much faster than the Ford Mondeo and Mazda, but he still liked the other two much better.

I think one important consideration is that there is a difference between a car that are designed to be agile and as a result are twitchy and unforgiving (which he seems to like), and cars that use a overly loose and luxurious setup or an inferior chassis/suspension

  • @ihaveadesk1 "difference between a car that are designed to be agile and as a result are twitchy and unforgiving (which he seems to like), and cars that use a overly loose and luxurious setup or an inferior chassis/suspension"

But surely, both can kill you!! At least the american set up is loose because it's built like that for it's US road type, where as if you loose control of a powerful european car because it has too much power for it's steering etc, then thats a manufacturers flaw.

  • @hawksleyart01

Yes, both can be dangerous, but the twitchy kind is fun and he seems to be biased towards it. The loose kind is boring, which he says is the worst thing a car can be.

  • @hawksleyart01

Well, provided the mustang lost, the way I look at it is that the mustang (rustang in my book) is a girls car. Every teenage girl in america wants a nustang convertable. I hate that. They don't do the car any justice by buying the v6 and a convertable. They are so fucking stupid!!!

  • @tjmick1992

Oh well, I guess it's different in every country. Proper car fans buy Mustangs in The UK.

Girls in the UK usually buy Peugeot hatchbacks, and VW fox, and Smart cars.

Weird how people are associated with types of cars.

  • Hahaha Puff Diddily.

  • not "flatten it."

    "floor it"

  • He's taking the piss... durr.

  • I want one NOW!!!!!!! I hope they will put this car on production... I hope.........

  • SMOKING IN THAT CAR!?!?!?!?!? HE SHULD DIE FOR THAT!

  • i think i figured it out on why there not making this car . i heard someone mention

"F%#@" top gear got a chance to drive and smoke in this car but i really don't remember any american's driving this car. so anyway maybe there not producing this car because it's not american made. or maybe i need to do my homework and see if it just has an cadillac emblem or is it really a british design. mmmmm

  • how fast can this car with 1000hp go?

its definately not faster than a veyron.

how about a lambo with 1/2 the hp?

it has roughlty the same pwr to wt.

  • @ASSHOLELA you clearly don't get this car

  • love cadillac, but, I dont like so much these modern overdone designs.

  • haha i love how every body from every country hates americans, its a good thing id hate myself if i was born in that shithole

  • British Queers

  • name of the music?

  • i find it funny the way we got a cadillac 16 to review but as far as i can tell, no ones been allowed to review one in the usa!

  • What an engine! Holy crap. If they build an S class rival, which they undoubtedly will in a few years, they should make this engine an option. Its just extraordinary.

  • if they produce this car, it will bring good name to cadillac because i been watching topgear and all i can hear from jeremy and hammond is complain, i mean come on, every review i see about cadillac is full of complain, there nothing good about it

  • I wasn't sure what I thought of this car when it first appeared on a magazine cover, btu it is so cool! As Kevin Costner heard in "Field of Dreams" >----> If you build it, they will come.

  • dam james looks young

  • lol puff diddley

  • @phmike69 I was thinking the same thing, that they wouldn't want their million dollar prototype stinking of cigar smoke, and God forbid he should actually use the ashtray. I looked more carefully; it was not lit. They burnt the tip outside of the car to make it look like he was actually smoking it.

  • I actually got to ride in this car at the american auto expo. Let me tell you, there is no other car that gives you the absolute sensation of winning a million dollars. This car did! Even though i am american i find cadys well awfull, but that thing got my dick hard.

  • nice

  • emagine if they took the limiter off. =D talk about tamahawk cruse missile

  • That would be a proper Caddilac. But GM is making one mistake after another. Selling Subarus as SAABs and SAABs as Caddilacs ... May the future correct me if Im wrong, but if it was not for the Pick up trucks for the domestic market and hopfully the Volt, GM would be out of the picture (and some Tax-payers money of course)

  • @el6milonguero dude wtf r u talking about. GM has many best selling cars on the market right now, Buick Enclave & LaCrosse, GMC Terrain, Acadia, & Sierra, Caddy CTS & SRX, Chevy Camaro, Malibu, Equinox, Traverse, Silverado

  • @pens71malkin sure. That explains all the bail outs by the government. Maybe they should build cars that people actually would want to buy.

  • @masatje im pretty sure they r building cars that people want to buy considering they have 12 Best-Sellers on the market dumbass

  • @pens71malkin perhaps best sellers on the US market but that is about it. Aside from Opel, GM does little on the international market by the looks of it. I'm a car enthusiast and I would struggle to find an American car in Europe. Because nobody needs one when you can buy Euroboxes. Japanese cars have spread all over the world, where as most American cars are confined to the US.

  • @masatje well i am sure that the Generals quality cars will eventually make its way across the pond. right now they r focusing on the americans and trying to win the rest of the dumbasses who say american cars r junk over. i wouldnt b surprised if they focused more on euro markets in the next few years.they have brought some great cars from foreign markets the past few years, opel isignia- buick regal, holden/vauxall vxr- pontiac g8 (r.i.p.). but i c what u r saying

  • @masatje umm they have

  • @pens71malkin Well, "the market" is actually bigger than 50-something states in north america. Many of those cars you listed, I have never even seen in real life. For example, Last week I drove 1000 km arcross two European countrys , I saw One De Lorian. One Chevy -57, two buicks from the fifties and one new chevy cruze ...
