what i fund funny about alliance tournament teams is you have 1 team always like

"we got 2 golems, 2 widows, a nightmare, and a command ship and lots of little destroyers"

and another team that's like

"we got a nighthawk, 2 drakes, some little ewar/af frigs, oh but we got a dominix!"

how do the point values add up...lol

each ship has a set amount of points. so the smaller ships free's up more points, therefore they can use golem's and widow's... make any sense? lol

theyre fast, and track frigates excellently, meaning that they can shred kitsunes/keres and frigates in general, as well as the fact they are very expendable and they do not cost many points to place on the field + with the use of 2 golems 2 widows and a vulture, i wouldnt be surprised if they were short of points

Unless blackops changed, he should really be carefull when saying its a tech 2 tank, when it isnt much better, if better at all than tech 1. The marauders get heavy res bonus, the blackops doesnt.

Seems like when fleets go after the big ships first and leave the smaller ones the fights are alot more explosive and deadly.

When they wipe out the smaller ships first then the big ships slug it out and it takes forever.

Announcer said "Golems don't necessarily do more damage than a Raven" or something like that. 8 launchers vs. 7. Plus that extra low slot for a ballistic control system and I think Golem can have a significant advantage. Looks to me like the Widows were set up for cap regen and transfer. If the Golems get solid cap transfer, they can probably get a dual Pith large shield booster setup to be cap stable. No way IVY gonna break that with what they fielded.

1. Raven has Rate of fire bonus, Navy Raven has more DPS than Golem, trust me, I fly a Golem.

Wow, that CoW setup was quite the weirdest one I've seen since the Navy Issue Osprey team from AT6. I like destroyers.

First time we've ever seen blackops ships in the alliance tournament (as far as I can remember). We tend to forget that as well as being stealth ships with covert jump portal generators, they're also T2 ewar BS (although the point was made that they don't get T2 resists).

Well i salute eve uni for the effort, you guys put up a good fight againts cow scum, but those 2 golems active tanking were invulnerable from the dps of the ravens :(

I still don't get it why they use destroyers, even though they are cheap...aren't they kinda ineffective versus these bigger ships?

its to get to the maximum amount of points, by filling spots and getting the max number of ships on the field. remember that the closer you are to the point limit of ships the less points you give away to the enemy.

yes, they are only good against frigates and assault ships, they are however cheap points wise and younger pilots can fly them....there have been electronic attack frigs and if you are going against large guns small ships are harder to hit

Well us Ivy League (AKA Eve Uni) guys just join in for fun, education and a chance to represent ourselves, so its pretty good just to be able to fight. We're certainly not leet PvPers and we don't pretend to be.

That's not entirely true, Eve-uni fighting style doesn't really fit the tourney, E-Uni's biggest advantage in most high-sec war, is that they can just bring more people to the fight than most other people can.

1x 5mill SP character doesn't really do diddly, 100x 5mill SP characters is a whole *lot* of diddly.

You can't knock EVE Uni they are for the most part not big in the ways of being a power house alliance. They train players for PVP & are pretty much respected by most people within the game.....
