Some of this is true and all... But it also smacks of politics in and of itself... also the idea that we would have all this technology without money is sort of maybe not true... the reason is simple... most of the driving force behind all this technology is and was businessmen and money... what makes Jacque so sure he is right? Yes there are evils in the world but it is Naive to think that Jacques world would truly be better...

America is still amazing, banks may fuck us, but we are Americans, fight and die for our team, humans are not all one in the same, my society is a team, and we will fucking win.
@cptnblackbeard just shut the fuck up. You are the type of people that dilute others minds, let them believe what they want but the facts are this country is fucking amazing compared to say Hati or Afghanistan. My blind patriotism destroys your guided nihilism
@TheDavebowman123 before americans you are a human. Think about other people who are suffering God made this place for everyone.. If not in best but atleast let people live in harmony and peace. Accept the fact that USA has done more harm to this world than anything else. Be a humanitarian
More religion bashing I see. Well they say technology creates everything and religion nothing. I think he has that backwards. he will see how much the soul is worth, compared to an airplane, compared to a microwave, compared to a hospital even. The soul is worth more than these, and guess what- everybody dies. All this is the denial of death, all technology is an elaborate defense mechanism against anxiety of death. They will learn the worth of the soul and divine justice (and mercy)
@peacewalker7 what are you talking about? I can give you a lobotomy and everything that you think a "soul" provides would be destroyed. How in the world can you say religion provides more than technology? your god said the stars revolve around the earth. Technology proves that wrong. The toilet you flush the light bulb were all created through technology and rational thinking, not this supernatual nonsens however comforting it is
The God in the Bible never said the stars revolve around the Earth. You just made that up. It was told in the Bible that the earth was round, and not flat. That is fact, sir.
Free energy can change the world! But the Oil companies want these technologies unknown to the masses,Get a real free energy motor at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Free yourself!
@13tharealest take both micro and macro economics, then take classes that focus on the politics of thrid world nations, european and african history, international relations classes, if you school has any classes on global energy consumption and the corelation with economics, you will begin to se a corelation with them all and they will be your foundation to learn more about these topics.
@13tharealest Ron Paul's books are good. Oh read about nutrition, how we are wasting resources by eating high on the food chain- John Robbins "food revolution". The problem IS us, to a large degree. Also television and music, how we desensitize culture to violence and sin. Just question, seek and you shall find. But the best source is the Gospel- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness
I wonder how many cures, and efficient energy sources have been shut down because they might effect profit. There was a good doc on energy called "fuel" I believe. I think I watched it on hulu...the part on diesel was very interesting.
Technology is only the real world application of our ability to think. It is not any kind of solution to our problems as it is inherantly controlable by the same people who control the money. Try using computers without electricity, they make the electricity and can shut it off. Try running a car without gas or electricity, they control that too.
IF we loved more Education, knowledge, than entertainment, and amusement parks then the ENTIRE WORLD would have been shaped differently and the PROFIT in this democratic world will be by seeling knowledge and morals books BUT we all know by now that there are other methods of keeping the mind busy, more relaxing and amusing than the boredom of reading trust me I m speeking from my experience unfortunatelly I sincerly say that I belong to the majority of population....
A degree in science and engineering would be the best investment in education right now to be honest. I would even go as far as requiring a politician running for office to have an "advanced" degree in certain fields of science/engineering.
You know what, after all this, I STILL think we live in the best country in the world. If we lived in North Korea, they would lock this author in a room and electricute him. The LOVE FOR MONEY makes the world go round', well that's nothing new. Just pray and thank G-d we live in A FREE AMERICA! And that's my two cents...
Let's look at the automated teller machine. Banks now need far fewer bank tellers since customers can complete a majority of transactions at ATMs. I am 99.9% certain that the ATM eliminates more teller jobs than it creates for manufacturers and engineers. If it didn't, then it would clearly be cheaper to hire a teller rather than to use an ATM. The best case scenario is that displaced tellers have to go back to school to compete for the few, non-outsourced tech jobs available.
@JLANDIS1043 When we were kids, we believed in santa claus because our parents, who were the people we loved and respected the most, told us that he existed. In this case, in our adulthood, we have no choice but to trust our government since they are the leaders and call the shots. We are only sheep and we must follow. Now that the truth is out there, I trust that the human kind can grow Independent of the people in control of our lives.
@JLANDIS1043 cause imagin a world with out money. how would we get anywhere in life? no one would be working, people would go back to trading? cmon.
this whole money system is a very good idea for keeping things in working order. but if they really do have the intentions like how these videos say for bringing the economy down at will... its unfortunate.
@kirox777 That's all we know. We are so heavily indoctrinated in that system. Some people can't open their mind or think outside the box for a minute. It's critical thought.
@JLANDIS1043 i do see the advantages with no money tho dont get me wrong;
we can get what ever we want; everyone have a house; will be fed; have electricity; clean water; people wont need to do work just to stay alive; all electronics will be as up to par as possible for the best benefit of use possible. hell everyhouse will have an ipad; with internet; kids will have free education and health care.
one thing i learned from this 2012 shit, is we rely 2much on electronics. blackouts = nightmare
Until yesterday It has always been Either you or me, not enough for both. The basis of ALL economics is about scarcity. Not enough for all must divide the pie etc. etc.
Economics is bullshit today. There is enough for everybody now! War, politics, and economics in todays world are obsolete.
@kermitcintronsucks : it isn't about whether or not there is enough for everyone...it is about how much a person is willing to work to provide that for everyone. Would you go till a field with a john deer, take 2 ears of corn for yourself and chuck the rest for free to any passerby? This is the very sole behind scarcity, it isn't that we don't have enough...it's that we don't have the people willing to do it for free.
@kermitcintronsucks : What's wrong with a leisure society? If I cut down a few trees on monday to feed me and my family for a week, why can't I have the right to take a 6 day vacation? In a resource-only society, that can be done....it allows the labor rung of the economic tree to actually make more money then the fat cats at the top telling them to do things. The only problem is that the fat cats will have to pick up a hammer. Monetary systems ruin lives to build up a few.
There's nothing wrong with a leisure society. I happen to think one is inevitable. Always HAS been. Eventually you do SUCH a good job with overhead, maximizing production, meeting needs and demands, that all the work is done.
When you're done cleaning your kitchen, you don't spill milk on the counter purposefully do you?
But in a monetary-profit-rat-race society, that is exactly what is done.
Whatever helps you sleep at night. I mean I can understand your point of view, you can't better me in a battle of wits, so you resort to lame uneducated assumptions about my lifestyle in order to discredit my view.
Judging by your comments(how a person expresses himself is a lot better indicator of who they are than some silly screen name) you're just some angry little nerd with little man complex.
Alot of the current research goes into things that would increase profits, or maintain power, rather than spending money on more applicable means.
Don't you think the phone is good enough now? Why do they continue improving it? because the profit is there - you take all those researchers they could do alot of good else where.
All that money spent on the Defence etc.. could be spent elsewhere. Defence is a necessity by its own existence.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Listent to this clown, the phone is good enough, why bother going further.
Idiots like you make me wonder how the fuck we are able to be so technologicaly advanced.
Who should decide what does and does not get research then? You're just another twat who wants the world to run in some assbackwards way according to theirself.
Did I say things I don't deem worthy? No I did not.
You just invented that statement out of thin air, infact, it is your statement, not mine.
Anyway, hoping for improvements in renewable energy, obtaining more cures to diseases, improving the efficiency of food production, among other things are what I would deem worthy.
Tell me... is this such a bad thing? Or they could make a phone 1/5 of the size smaller!!!
the invention of fire and the invention of the wheel and the invention of the spear and writing paper etc are all techonology and where invented before our complex monetary system so your statement has to be refased.
Fire was not an invention. The wheel was not an invention. The spear was not an invention. These all occur in nature, and are thus called "discoveries".
you can say the same thing about any technology for that matter, they are not inventions they are discoveries, you are right about that 100% agree, but they are all technologies for sure. they all compound on each other and get more advanced, without the wheel we wouldn't have the car and without fire we would not have the rocket engine.
Werner von braun was not motivated by the Nazis or the U.S. to build the rockets that eventually took us to the moon. He was obsessed from his child hood with a dream. Ben Franklin didn't patent the lightning rod or Jonas saulk the polio vaccine. Inventors will invent, it's what they love to do. ever played a game or solved a crossword puzzle for free? I love the feeling of figuring a problem out, don't you?
Human egos are dangerous things. Inventing something gives you a major ego boost. In he monetary system, that ego is leveled out with money. In Communism, it's balanced out with power. Smarter people demand power and eventually its bad for everyone. True most people enjoy a challenge but ultimately money (or some form of it) is behind all aspirations.
(btw I enjoy this open and honest debate. This is the beauty of America we have today and one of the reasons we shouldnt give it up)
Isn't the human ego a by-product of our need to reproduce? Isn't your cockiness and swagger part of the allure for a woman? What if women were free to chose a mate based on something other than financial security for her offspring? What if our egos became a liability? I know for one if having a big ego meant never getting lucky...I would make Gandhi look like Mohamed Ali! So then would we still pursue challenges? Without ego can we still be team players? That is a good question, huh?
This isn't true. Work = energy times force. Where does the force come from? Problems. You take away the force you are just energy doing whatever you want. You are free to do whatever your heart desires.
Ask yourselves, have we been WORKING? No we haven't. If we working we would be inching closer and closer to a leisure society. We are not.
Firstly mate: Your equation is wrong. HAHAHA. Work, measured in Joules and energy, also measured in Joules are the SAME THING! Your equation should be: Work (J) = Force (N) x Distance (m). And that puts the shit over the rest of your argument. Might want to rethink it sorry, get back to us when you do though.
Well, I got my equation right out of the chemistry book!
The force still comes from problems. My equation is sound MATE! You are energy but when you play basketball, are you working? When you brush your teeth are you working?
But when economic conditions FORCE you to work a job you hate, aren't you working?
When a river flows with water there's is nor force, but put a bug branch there the flow of energy hits a problem, so you remove the branch AKA the problem hence work.
So basically, Zeitgeist is against cars, because they took jobs away from horse salesmen.
Are you kidding me?
People wake up! This video is 100% baloney.
My students asked me many questions on this topic and told me they saw this video. I figured I have to watch it to know what was bothering them and I found hours of lies. Wake up fellow citizens.
@joekidd33 Although money is only an idea that exists in our mind it is still a big part of things, laws are also just an idea but if we choose to break them we're fucked aren't we
Unfortunately, people replace money with god and instead of being richer, they become holier than you! That leads to the inquisition instead of the depression. If we answer the the question of need by producing enough for everyone, we won't need religion. Then we will be free to pursue a love of god...directly.
Exactly. And from a Christian's point of a view, thousands of years before Christ, in some of the Old Testament books such as Leviticus (I think), God was way ahead of science and gave the Israelites detailed instructions of hygiene and how to deal with germs and mildew, etc. This guy can live in his dream world that technology only exists because of human ingenuity if he wants, but human ingenuity only exists because a higher power gave it to us.
LOL just lyk americans.. Invading atha countries for oil lol.. and u expect muslims to do nuttin... Most of the killings in this world are done by chirstians... U tell me only muslims kill in AMerica, look at ure jails lol and tell me tha stats :D and then when the criminals convert to islam, they became civilized ;) plz do some research :D
Not only do you fail at spelling, you fail at logic as well.
Most muslims are savages who beat their women because they are weak, inferior human beings. You scum also behead people without even batting an eye, fucking animals.
And most killing are not done by christians you dipshit, and ofcourse American jails would have more christians than muslims, they outnumber you scum over there thank god.
Go blow yourself up for 72 virgins already you vermin.
Technology is the only thing that makes mankind better? Maybe, but it also destroys mankind. Technology is the robots that take your jobs, make your bombs.
So what is the plan to fix all this? I would do somthing if there was an oppertunity that would actually make a difference. AND DONT ASK FOR MONEY hhahaha!
go live in the wilderness as an idigenous population and live without the idea of wealth and possesion. not my thoughts just the asnwer your probably gooing to hear.
It may be possible for people to behave in ethical ways in a monetary system, if ethical (spiritual/psychological) development is respected as at least an equally essential value."Give unto Rome", I guess. Money has it's uses - Peter Joseph is correct to point out that money serves itself. Are humanity and money are mutally exclusive?I think that's his argument here, By the way, sdechs2, I'm posting this at a public library. P.Joseph isn't advocating a break from technology, from what I can tell
YOU HAVENT STOPPED EITHER AS YOU OWN A COMPUTER!!!! YOU HAD TO BUY THAT COMPUTER SO YOU COULD POST THIS!!!!! Your in NO better position to tell US to break away if you cant do it YOURSELF!!! Your a fool! And weakminded!!!
perhaps it's because they became the slaves of the system, and they'll do anything to protect it :) -matrix- :P. it might sound weird but i guess that's why they just don't get involved.
these people are trying to do what jesus is supposed to do in an individuals heart.. ya its a good idea to not have competions and everyone loves eachother but there will always be greedy people until they are born again and they give there life to jesus i doubt there intentions will change.
...so how can someone say that they want technology to help humanity and at the same time insist on a course of action that will only slow down progress of technology? That course of action being that products last for much longer periods than they do now. If that route is taken then nobody will go to buy new stuff. Y should they, the product they have now has another 15 years on it. So companies will not innovate as fast cuz nobody will buy
To marty's point: you cannot have your cake and eat it too. On the on hand there are complaints that companies build their stuff to run down forcing us to go back to buy more stuff. That sucks, BUT the products get better and the improvements help our lives. On the other hand we want stuff to last forever so that we don't have to keep replacing stuff. Well if we get products that last 25 Years, then advancements in technology will slow down. But tech is to be our saviour.
The narrator is not completely correct in his definition of the word corruption. Case in point, "corruption of flesh" is a term used in describing what happens to a dead organism.
Corrupt:
c.1300, from L. corruptus, pp. of corrumpere "to destroy, spoil, bribe,"
1400, in ref. to wounds, ulcers, etc., "full of corrupt or poisonous matter," from L. virulentus "poisonous," from virus "poison"
Money, in and of itself, is not the problem. GREED is! Greed is the virus (poison) that corrupts.
greed only exists when humans are in a position of real or perceived scarcity. Which the monetary system creates. How can you have greed if everything is free?
You answered that yourself..."perceived scarcity." Greed, just as is hate, is born of fear. There are only 2 sources, love or fear. Whether there is plenty or there is not is irrelevant. If one conducts one's life from a place of fear, one can feel a sense of lack great enough to engender greed, jealousy and hate (ego-centeredness). It has NOTHING to do with what is real, only with what is PERCEIVED. Some people have nothing (material) but consider themselves very fortunate. Indeed, they are!
Well, my criticism of this documentary is : yes, it gives us lots of information explaining to us that the whole monetary system is rigged. Yet it offers no options to that. Ok, maybe I am asking too much, and increased awareness in itself is very important. Yet it leaves a sense of dread, of inevitability, of doom : the system is rigged, we are doomed, let's brace ourselves for horrifying times to come and that is about it.
lastly, the vid talks about how technology will solve all the problems. Yet, they are upset with products that have built in obsolescence. meaning products are by design, destined to run down quick so that you go buy more to replace it. But if everyone had stuff that lasted 26 years, technological progress would be slower. This vid wants their cake and eat it too.
no as technology increases yo will have an option of going and getting new stuff. the point of the vid is that things are made to break after a certain amount of time. so there is no choice but to buy a new one. most ppl dont need the best thing available and wont get it just b/c they like the one they have. not to mention there would be bigger gaps between the introduction of new things bc technology doesnt increase that fast if everyone had the optimal thing
also, this clip, 7/13, suggests that humans are innately good somehow but just need to be put in the right environment so as to bring out that goodness. I say that if man is soooo good, we wouldn't be talking about this issue right now. Besides, it's better to plan for the worse and hope for the best. Better to assume man is evil and form a government based on that assumption, just like the founders did. Government powers is segregated so that no one person has all the power, dats gone
i agreed with the video with regards of the analysis on the fed. However, I cannot agree with the solution in its entirety. I believe that capitalism is workable with the proper governmental system in place. Gov must be a referee, not a player and cannot choose favorites. There should be an economic bill of rights added to the current human bill of rights and something explicit stating that a centralized banking system done by a private bank is ILLEGAL
We DO have something that should have prevented centralized banking. US Constitution Section 8 - "Powers of Congress" along with the Treasury SHOULD have prevented the centralized banking system but the European bankers (those who had basically held King George hostage through debt and indirectly the Colonists who were subsequently taxed to pay off that debt) and their descendants (who became American in "fact" not "spirit") circumvented those limits which were laid out in the Constitution.
If you believe, it started out of nothing, with a wast detonation, which came to be out of nothing and coincidentally a functioning universe came to be and coincidentally life started and coincidentally humans envolved from apes, lost their hair, grew a bit of brain and die afterwards. and everything is done.
well... that REALLY sounds rational.
nowadays there is even scientific proof for the existence of ghosts. but hey... why would apes leave something after they die?
part 1 broadcasted a fake story about horus and part 2 is again declassifying religion.
this is just the 7th part, haven't finished the series yet, but i can guess that again they won't be talking about masonry, templars, illuminati or the occult backgrounds of these secret societies.
the people running this world are driven by religion. the vatican is using satanic symbolism e.g the bent cross and the wars take place during pagan sacrifice times (iraq)
I can't believe that all of us can't see instantly a solution.
I want world of grown up inteligent beings who CAN take care of each other on global scale and I will get it. I know what is more and what is less and know how to provide more rather than less. I do not comply with this theatre full of actors. I'm real.
will you fucking religious nuts watch that religion bit again? whether or not some details about horus were wrong, the case for jesus/the bible being allegorical was, overall, well presented and pretty overwhelming. you need to grow up and stop looking to some intangible parent figure to look after you
buddy religion is what is the very core of the people running the system. This series does not deal with much more important issues like the influence of secret societies.
The most powerful men on earth are driven by their religion.
You better have a look on their rituals, their symbolism and their history.
Believing doesn't mean to have an imaginary friend, no it is simply not denying reality.
They contradicted themselves in this video. On one hand they said "a competition based economy causes technological peralysis" then they said that it was immoral for them to create new technology that repalce the worker because machines can do it cheaper. Should we or should we not keep technology!?
R U BASIC ,a competition based economy causes peralysis ,because e.g. the corporations will only improve the standard of thier technology unless it means profit .maybe they did'nt have a perfect script ,but if you dont get the point your really BASIC.[not insulting, just sharing my opinion in a funny way.
If you can make machine to help people you don't fire them. You compromise profit with lenght of working hours. I can't believe that people seem to justify this shit we live in. Really.
I am ready to not profit from anybody and keep creating values. Are you?
I know what you saying but there's better way not to comply. The way is to show others that money is not as important as helping others. I have receently run few auctions online with my surplus radio 'stuff' and sending it away for free. I would never use it myself and knowing that someone will feels better than five hundred bucks. That's a good way to make people think 'people' and not money.
The car was cheap to buy and repair, easy to maintain, fuel eficient, and had a life spam of decades. This car became the main enemy to car companies, and repair shops, so what they did? They killed it in the late 70's. and the ones that were still produced in Brazil & Mexico were scratched of being unsafe and unreliable and forbided its import, so now they make cars that are expensive to buy & repair, fuel thirsty, with a lifespam of ten years or less
guess what are national debt is as of 09/16/2009 at exactly 12:57? $11,796,978,530,212.80!!!!!! that is about $38,435.70. per american citizen!! wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!
i've had my computer for over SIX YEARS. and it is still working and running games and applications. albeit slower, but it is far from obsolete. this video is chock full of BS!!
THERE ARE PEOPLE STILL DRIVING CARS FROM THE 30'S BUT THEY ARE OBSELETE BECUASE THEIR ARE TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED VEHICLES OUT THEIR. (a/c, cruise control, and SEAT BELTS were considered luxuries back then).
The beetle (late models 78-2003) have a/c as well as seat belts, as for cruise control is only useful in automatic transmision vehicles in order to control the speed, in manual transmisions is completely useles plus such system is just another expensive gadget that needs repair.
no. i said it's chock full of BS. it has valid points, but like most things, it has invalid ones mixed in. my dad's computer is older than mine and still works too actually, but is slower. point is, people just listen and take most of it as "true" without thinking critically about it...just like most ppl who watch the news. YouTube content should be examined carefully too.
who is to say when things become obsolete? nobody has the authority to say when. even an axe is useful and not obsolete though we have chainsaws today.
technology ironically will be the downfall of humans too. and didn't they just say that machines are replacing our jobs? so it's not all good. one day humans will be obsolete for the most part...at least most of us. lol
it is this very techlogy that this system are created for, so we can have those cars, computers, glases, etc that better our lives, so we become gready to obtain them, if iam wrong let me know
and why computers and laptops and ipods usually go down in a year or two, why this time? because then they will create a new and improved version giving you even MORE reason to buy their products by that time.
....Maybe Im off the mark.....I dont know. But many of us tolerate this corrupt schema b/c we believe that somehow-Im gonna be one of the guys on top. And get the rewards given to the one that plays the game right. It wont happen to ME.
i know what you mean the 1st part had 451,000 views and gradually wore down (and continues after this part).maybe because the the first zeitgeist was overblown, full of non-facts and criticised people gave this only a fleeting glance....or perhaps they dont like knowing the truth
Cool rolandbeatz, thank you for your comment, I too am inclined to think that parts of each religion comprise a larger and much more... a picture that makes sense.
[did you just compare?...you just said corporate ppl are bad?...all i have to say the food you eat and the clothes you wear are made by these corporates....
I used to be christian, but then I started asking myself questions like how did christianity began? God is not a christian. Religion keeps you in a box! I'm christ concious, but I think the true way to God is through spirituality, Every religion has a piece of the puzzle so educate yourself gather the pieces then find your own road to God because I'm not going to let a religion created by man make the decision for me.
the military controls technology. they have hundreds of thousands of trained killers and they would like your children to join them. there is no honor in being a trained killer.
ok it has one little line about religion and you choose to leave a comment saying that this documentary is about trying to get people to go against their religion?!? you're an idiot!
Is this a joke ? ... the way this part of the video started is so idiotic.. I agree with some if not most of the conclusions that this video is hinting at .. I just don't agree with the way it is going about presenting them .. blaming technology when it replaces a human being (at the beginning of the clip) but doesn't blame technology when it is beneficial !!! .. contradictoary !!!
please! watch the video more than once..i know what your talking about he wasn't blaming technology he was blaming "profit" people replacing humans for a machine is cheaper so its more money for them which means they dont care about u me or any one else..profit comes first!! ....did u watch the rest of the movie????
plz.. Profit do come first.. if the company is inefficient then a better company will come and take market share & the original company that was inefficient will have to lay it's inefficient workforce.. yes it is a cruel world. But think about it in another way .. now that machines are freeing up humans so that humans can go on making better things, coming up with better ideas or gain another skill... U cant keep a human doing the same job over & over otherwise there wont be any advancement !
The only thing i dont agree with in this video, is the religion. You shouldnt knock something that people believe in that doesnt hurt anyone... (anymore)
well religion causes people not to think critically and the result of that is not being smart enough to solve problems in the world..they just wait for some god that supposed to come and save us!! sorry but ive been waiting for god for a long long long long long time...no more waiting its time to solve the problems of the world!!
Whats wrong with God? theres a good chance He could be real, but I have my own beliefs and experiences. All He wants us to do is love him, and each other. No war, controlling, no greed or death. Whats wrong with that? If we cant live logically and morally, why live at all?
what is the reference for that Adam Smith quote "by pursuing his own interest he promotes that of the society more effectively"?

More religion bashing I see. Well they say technology creates everything and religion nothing. I think he has that backwards. he will see how much the soul is worth, compared to an airplane, compared to a microwave, compared to a hospital even. The soul is worth more than these, and guess what- everybody dies. All this is the denial of death, all technology is an elaborate defense mechanism against anxiety of death. They will learn the worth of the soul and divine justice (and mercy)
peacewalker7 1 year ago
@peacewalker7 what are you talking about? I can give you a lobotomy and everything that you think a "soul" provides would be destroyed. How in the world can you say religion provides more than technology? your god said the stars revolve around the earth. Technology proves that wrong. The toilet you flush the light bulb were all created through technology and rational thinking, not this supernatual nonsens however comforting it is

Technology is only the real world application of our ability to think. It is not any kind of solution to our problems as it is inherantly controlable by the same people who control the money. Try using computers without electricity, they make the electricity and can shut it off. Try running a car without gas or electricity, they control that too.

I have to point out that "he" considers automation as taking a job and not creating a new, more technical and productive job.
Talk about stifling innovation.
cheerdiver 1 year ago
@cheerdiver

Economics is bullshit today. There is enough for everybody now! War, politics, and economics in todays world are obsolete.
kermitcintronsucks 1 year ago 26
@kermitcintronsucks : it isn't about whether or not there is enough for everyone...it is about how much a person is willing to work to provide that for everyone. Would you go till a field with a john deer, take 2 ears of corn for yourself and chuck the rest for free to any passerby? This is the very sole behind scarcity, it isn't that we don't have enough...it's that we don't have the people willing to do it for free.

Eventually, the maximization of production leads to a leisure society of people relaxing doing whatever they want. Free of problems.
People don't teach for the money. They do it because they want to help people
kermitcintronsucks 1 year ago
@kermitcintronsucks : What's wrong with a leisure society? If I cut down a few trees on monday to feed me and my family for a week, why can't I have the right to take a 6 day vacation? In a resource-only society, that can be done....it allows the labor rung of the economic tree to actually make more money then the fat cats at the top telling them to do things. The only problem is that the fat cats will have to pick up a hammer. Monetary systems ruin lives to build up a few.
sabriath 1 year ago
There's nothing wrong with a leisure society. I happen to think one is inevitable. Always HAS been. Eventually you do SUCH a good job with overhead, maximizing production, meeting needs and demands, that all the work is done.
When you're done cleaning your kitchen, you don't spill milk on the counter purposefully do you?
But in a monetary-profit-rat-race society, that is exactly what is done.

This video (this part) is fundamentally correct.

This video is dangerous because there are fools out there who believe it and start hating the country that gives them som much.

the invention of fire and the invention of the wheel and the invention of the spear and writing paper etc are all techonology and where invented before our complex monetary system so your statement has to be refased.
RDpapichulo 2 years ago 2
Come on. Are you serious?
Fire was not an invention. The wheel was not an invention. The spear was not an invention. These all occur in nature, and are thus called "discoveries".
We're not living the BCs buddy.
YGMH1107 2 years ago
you can say the same thing about any technology for that matter, they are not inventions they are discoveries, you are right about that 100% agree, but they are all technologies for sure. they all compound on each other and get more advanced, without the wheel we wouldn't have the car and without fire we would not have the rocket engine.
RDpapichulo 2 years ago
@YGMH1107
The concept of money was introduced by the Romans.
The concept of money as paper notes was introduced by the Mongols.
There are countless 'inventions' before these two civilizations.
Please inform me where the spear occurs in nature, I would be very interested to find out.
Lordmark1234 2 years ago
Werner von braun was not motivated by the Nazis or the U.S. to build the rockets that eventually took us to the moon. He was obsessed from his child hood with a dream. Ben Franklin didn't patent the lightning rod or Jonas saulk the polio vaccine. Inventors will invent, it's what they love to do. ever played a game or solved a crossword puzzle for free? I love the feeling of figuring a problem out, don't you?
bigncornfed 2 years ago
Human egos are dangerous things. Inventing something gives you a major ego boost. In he monetary system, that ego is leveled out with money. In Communism, it's balanced out with power. Smarter people demand power and eventually its bad for everyone. True most people enjoy a challenge but ultimately money (or some form of it) is behind all aspirations.
(btw I enjoy this open and honest debate. This is the beauty of America we have today and one of the reasons we shouldnt give it up)
YGMH1107 2 years ago
Isn't the human ego a by-product of our need to reproduce? Isn't your cockiness and swagger part of the allure for a woman? What if women were free to chose a mate based on something other than financial security for her offspring? What if our egos became a liability? I know for one if having a big ego meant never getting lucky...I would make Gandhi look like Mohamed Ali! So then would we still pursue challenges? Without ego can we still be team players? That is a good question, huh?
bigncornfed 2 years ago
This isn't true. Work = energy times force. Where does the force come from? Problems. You take away the force you are just energy doing whatever you want. You are free to do whatever your heart desires.
Ask yourselves, have we been WORKING? No we haven't. If we working we would be inching closer and closer to a leisure society. We are not.
We are not working.
kermitcintronsucks 1 year ago
Firstly mate: Your equation is wrong. HAHAHA. Work, measured in Joules and energy, also measured in Joules are the SAME THING! Your equation should be: Work (J) = Force (N) x Distance (m). And that puts the shit over the rest of your argument. Might want to rethink it sorry, get back to us when you do though.
ajbrown1987 1 year ago 3
Well, I got my equation right out of the chemistry book!
The force still comes from problems. My equation is sound MATE! You are energy but when you play basketball, are you working? When you brush your teeth are you working?
But when economic conditions FORCE you to work a job you hate, aren't you working?
When a river flows with water there's is nor force, but put a bug branch there the flow of energy hits a problem, so you remove the branch AKA the problem hence work.

It may be possible for people to behave in ethical ways in a monetary system, if ethical (spiritual/psychological) development is respected as at least an equally essential value."Give unto Rome", I guess. Money has it's uses - Peter Joseph is correct to point out that money serves itself. ...so how can someone say that they want technology to help humanity and at the same time insist on a course of action that will only slow down progress of technology? That course of action being that products last for much longer periods than they do now. If that route is taken then nobody will go to buy new stuff. Y should they, the product they have now has another 15 years on it. So companies will not innovate as fast cuz nobody will buy
tatsumakisempyukaku 2 years ago
watch the "zeitgeist movement orientation presentation" for an explanation.
SpartanMen 2 years ago
To marty's point: you cannot have your cake and eat it too. On the on hand there are complaints that companies build their stuff to run down forcing us to go back to buy more stuff. That sucks, BUT the products get better and the improvements help our lives. On the other hand we want stuff to last forever so that we don't have to keep replacing stuff. Well if we get products that last 25 Years, then advancements in technology will slow down. But tech is to be our saviour.
tatsumakisempyukaku 2 years ago
The narrator is not completely correct in his definition of the word corruption. Case in point, "corruption of flesh" is a term used in describing what happens to a dead organism.
Corrupt:
c.1300, from L. corruptus, pp. of corrumpere "to destroy, spoil, bribe,"
1400, in ref. to wounds, ulcers, etc., "full of corrupt or poisonous matter," from L. virulentus "poisonous," from virus "poison"
Money, in and of itself, is not the problem. GREED is! Greed is the virus (poison) that corrupts.
shaudee67 2 years ago
greed only exists when humans are in a position of real or perceived scarcity. Which the monetary system creates. How can you have greed if everything is free?
mattywash 2 years ago 2
You answered that yourself..."perceived scarcity." Greed, just as is hate, is born of fear. There are only 2 sources, love or fear. Whether there is plenty or there is not is irrelevant. If one conducts one's life from a place of fear, one can feel a sense of lack great enough to engender greed, jealousy and hate (ego-centeredness). It has NOTHING to do with what is real, only with what is PERCEIVED. Some people have nothing (material) but consider themselves very fortunate. Indeed, they are!
shaudee67 2 years ago
Well, my criticism of this documentary is : yes, it gives us lots of information explaining to us that the whole monetary system is rigged. Yet it offers no options to that. Ok, maybe I am asking too much, and increased awareness in itself is very important. Yet it leaves a sense of dread, of inevitability, of doom : the system is rigged, we are doomed, let's brace ourselves for horrifying times to come and that is about it.
I wish we could do something.

lastly, the vid talks about how technology will solve all the problems. Yet, they are upset with products that have built in obsolescence. meaning products are by design, destined to run down quick so that you go buy more to replace it. But if everyone had stuff that lasted 26 years, technological progress would be slower. This vid wants their cake and eat it too.
tatsumakisempyukaku 2 years ago
no as technology increases yo will have an option of going and getting new stuff. the point of the vid is that things are made to break after a certain amount of time. so there is no choice but to buy a new one. most ppl dont need the best thing available and wont get it just b/c they like the one they have. not to mention there would be bigger gaps between the introduction of new things bc technology doesnt increase that fast if everyone had the optimal thing
mattywash 2 years ago
also, this clip, 7/13, suggests that humans are innately good somehow but just need to be put in the right environment so as to bring out that goodness. I say that if man is soooo good, we wouldn't be talking about this issue right now. Besides, it's better to plan for the worse and hope for the best. Better to assume man is evil and form a government based on that assumption, just like the founders did. Government powers is segregated so that no one person has all the power, dats gone
tatsumakisempyukaku 2 years ago
i agreed with the video with regards of the analysis on the fed. However, I cannot agree with the solution in its entirety. I believe that capitalism is workable with the proper governmental system in place. Gov must be a referee, not a player and cannot choose favorites. There should be an economic bill of rights added to the current human bill of rights and something explicit stating that a centralized banking system done by a private bank is ILLEGAL
tatsumakisempyukaku 2 years ago 2
We DO have something that should have prevented centralized banking. US Constitution Section 8 - "Powers of Congress" along with the Treasury SHOULD have prevented the centralized banking system but the European bankers (those who had basically held King George hostage through debt and indirectly the Colonists who were subsequently taxed to pay off that debt) and their descendants (who became American in "fact" not "spirit") circumvented those limits which were laid out in the Constitution.

ediainharris 2 years ago
buddy religion is what is the very core of the people running the system.

1polymath 2 years ago
R U BASIC ,a competition based economy causes peralysis ,because e.g. the corporations will only improve the standard of thier technology unless it means profit .maybe they did'nt have a perfect script ,but if you dont get the point your really BASIC.[not insulting, just sharing my opinion in a funny way.

Watch the whole movie, technology is EXACTLY what this movie promotes.

think about it we would need it....without it we would probably degrade ourselves...
xVoggx 2 years ago
there is more on this in another part.
If you can make machine to help people you don't fire them. You compromise profit with lenght of working hours. I can't believe that people seem to justify this shit we live in. Really.
I am ready to not profit from anybody and keep creating values. Are you?
OK2BCK 2 years ago
But ofcourse, but if my bills aren't paid theres going to be a problem.
1polymath 2 years ago
I know what you saying but there's better way not to comply. The way is to show others that money is not as important as helping others. I have receently run few auctions online with my surplus radio 'stuff' and sending it away for free. I would never use it myself and knowing that someone will feels better than five hundred bucks. That's a good way to make people think 'people' and not money.

A good example is the VW tipe 1 or beetle.
The car was cheap to buy and repair, easy to maintain, fuel eficient, and had a life spam of decades. This car became the main enemy to car companies, and repair shops, so what they did? They killed it in the late 70's. and the ones that were still produced in Brazil & Mexico were scratched of being unsafe and unreliable and forbided its import, so now they make cars that are expensive to buy & repair, fuel thirsty, with a lifespam of ten years or less

i've had my computer for over SIX YEARS. and it is still working and running games and applications. albeit slower, but it is far from obsolete. this video is chock full of BS!!
matwocents 2 years ago
your vids are more bs
edmannumber1 2 years ago
DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THE WORD OBSELET MEANS?
THERE ARE PEOPLE STILL DRIVING CARS FROM THE 30'S BUT THEY ARE OBSELETE BECUASE THEIR ARE TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED VEHICLES OUT THEIR. (a/c, cruise control, and SEAT BELTS were considered luxuries back then).
ninjarlou 2 years ago
The beetle (late models 78-2003) have a/c as well as seat belts, as for cruise control is only useful in automatic transmision vehicles in order to control the speed, in manual transmisions is completely useles plus such system is just another expensive gadget that needs repair.
Panzerfaust111 2 years ago
so just because you were lucky enough to have a good computer means this vid is BS? are you stupid?
edmannumber1 2 years ago
no. i said it's chock full of BS. it has valid points, but like most things, it has invalid ones mixed in. my dad's computer is older than mine and still works too actually, but is slower. point is, people just listen and take most of it as "true" without thinking critically about it...just like most ppl who watch the news. YouTube content should be examined carefully too.
matwocents 2 years ago
Just because the computer still works doesnt mean it isn't obselete

who is to say when things become obsolete? nobody has the authority to say when. even an axe is useful and not obsolete though we have chainsaws today.
matwocents 2 years ago
technology ironically will be the downfall of humans too. and didn't they just say that machines are replacing our jobs? so it's not all good. one day humans will be obsolete for the most part...at least most of us. lol
matwocents 2 years ago
it is this very techlogy that this system are created for, so we can have those cars, computers, glases, etc that better our lives, so we become gready to obtain them, if iam wrong let me know

and why computers and laptops and ipods usually go down in a year or two, why this time? because then they will create a new and improved version giving you even MORE reason to buy their products by that time.

i know what you mean the 1st part had 451,000 views and gradually wore down (and continues after this part).maybe because the the first zeitgeist was overblown, full of non-facts and criticised people gave this only a fleeting glance....or perhaps they dont like knowing the truth

Is this a joke ? ... the way this part of the video started is so idiotic.. I agree with some if not most of the conclusions that this video is hinting at .. I just don't agree with the way it is going about presenting them .. blaming technology when it replaces a human being (at the beginning of the clip) but doesn't blame technology when it is beneficial !!! .. contradictoary !!!
ahmedvienna 2 years ago
please! watch the video more than once..i know what your talking about he wasn't blaming technology he was blaming "profit" people replacing humans for a machine is cheaper so its more money for them which means they dont care about u me or any one else..profit comes first!! ....did u watch the rest of the movie????
Bluedash3r 2 years ago
U cant keep a human doing the same job over & over otherwise there wont be any advancement !
ahmedvienna 2 years ago
yeah that was contradictory I noticed.
RobertGoodFella 2 years ago
The only thing i dont agree with in this video, is the religion. You shouldnt knock something that people believe in that doesnt hurt anyone... (anymore)
theoak84 2 years ago
well religion causes people not to think critically and the result of that is not being smart enough to solve problems in the world..they just wait for some god that supposed to come and save us!! sorry but ive been waiting for god for a long long long long long time...no more waiting its time to solve the problems of the world!!
Bluedash3r 2 years ago
Whats wrong with God? theres a good chance He could be real, but I have my own beliefs and experiences. All He wants us to do is love him, and each other. No war, controlling, no greed or death. Whats wrong with that? If we cant live logically and morally, why live at all?
