  • little richard fucking rocks!

  • Saw him 6 times live , what a voice , what a show , fantastic , a true rocker , one of the greats never bettered.

  • Thanks so much for chopping the end off..much appreciated..really.

  • the king of rock and roll

  • Nope, not the '64 Vee Jay version. The sax break on that version strays well away from the Specialty version. Which was I believe recorded 'on the road' without the usual band. Try the '77 version on Creole records LP Little Richard Now? Incidentally worth seeing Richard using TWO synchronised drummers on his later gigs. I recall Richard saying to Charlie Gillett he'd recut his songs in 77 to improve his royalty deal from the Specialty days. Further reading 'The Quasar of Rock' by Chas White.

  • I sent myself here.

  • i always think of cheech and chong up in smoke when i hear this

  • @nfpmg lmao, well played

  • @gavman21734 this is actually the main song played in the movie Christine written by steven king and directed by john carpenter

  • @Tpow1985 i was actually just making a point that despite all these film and games that they proberly are in that u and other people say i just like song bottom line

  • @gavman21734 haha its actually in the movie Christine.

  • @JackiIsRad never seen it

  • I got this from Christine also!!

  • dit is pas muziek beter dan die shitzooi van vandaag

  • im currently playing this on full volume to the dam workmen banging on my walls

  • I never noticed Led Zeppelin ripped off Little Richard! Best drums intro ever.

  • @ClueBand never noticed that ur mama is so fat.......srsly wtf r u talking idiot

  • @Felduin Well, thanks for your nice words. My point was that I never noticed that the intro of Rock'n'Roll (by Led Zeppelin) was very similar to the one of Keep a Knocking (by Little Richard). I suppose it's very apropos, since the theme of the Zeppelin song.

  • @ClueBand i know what u meant, but first i think the intro doesnt sound anything like the intro of rock´n roll by Zeppelin, and second i just wanted to express how retarded i find the people who constantly keep on bashing zeppelin for "ripping off music", blues music was always "ripped off".....but dont let us start this stupid discussion again

  • @Felduin

I think people are pissed because others seem to profit by "ripping off" black musicians with impunity.

  • @Felduin this song inspired bonhams drumming in the song black dog though

  • @Darkblossomxx it's the song rock and roll actually fella.

  • Muito louco o som desse sax kkkk , gostei .

  • Thanks Christine.

  • all he has to say is four verses n he's awesome

  • Christine and my good taste in music brought me here.

  • John Fogerty should do this song

  • I think my problem is that they don't need to knock, they don't even need to push the door... it's wide fucking open and try as I might it's gonna keep flapping open so I guess 'll have to accept that and do some knockin of my own

  • Lil Richard must have been a time traveler, because he traveled to the future to rip this off from Led Zeppelins "Rock and Roll" from Led Zep IV. lols

  • @lauraevc Actually, Page said that Rock and Roll came to be when Bonham started drumming the intro to Keep a Knockin (during a jam session) and then Page himself added a guitar riff. After that all the Zeppelin members joined in, and that song came to be Rock and Roll. :)
