"Beat it, Flash. Take a walk". It's Michael Motherfucking Mann!!!! I always say that his best movie is Heat. BUT, the best Michael Mann movie is Thief. It's got all the stuff that you need for his movies--cool dialogue for one. Is there any difference between that line when he flashes the gun and when Dillinger smacks the guy at the coat room and says, "Hit the road, Sport". It's the SAME!!!!! All the themes he loves are explored in this movie. It's perfection.
The greatest crime film ever... Michael Mann's best. Heat was his send up for this. Soundtrack with Tangerine Dream is still perfect. James Caans personal favoritew charaqcter and performance.
can anyone help me find this artist? i searched the soundtrack(s)...there are 2, i searched "mighty joe young band", i searched chicago blues band??? i know it seems obvious, but i have owned this dvd & vcr since 1988...i've watched the music credits (before the internet)...and this remains a diamond in the rough for me. thank you in advance!
i really wish someone would upload this movie i really want to see it cant find it i even looked for it at moviestop i downloaded the soundtrack simply because im a tangerine dream fan and the soundtrack got me really curious about the movie plus im from chicago so yeah really want to see thi someone plz help!
@wayodd hi ..i just noticed your comment..i found it years ago..had to order it from a movie store..disney i think..it's so old i got it on vhs..lol..you should be able to go into any movie store and order it..good luck..
What is the name of that Bar, I know they did some filming at the Green Mill, but that looks more like someplace on Halsted. Oh the Katz and Jammer, duh
Great scene. Some really good cop/crime films came out around 1979-1981 or so: Thief, Sharky's Machine, 48 Hrs... there are more but I can't think of them right now. Slightly different feel from we we think of as 70s cop films, but not really "80s" yet, either.
After that, they fell into the 'buddy' film with lots of explosions, and ruined cop movies (48 Hrs helped to start it, but it was above average). Lethal Weapon was really the final death blow to good 70s cop movies.
The Bartender with the towel that James Caan Pushed Right, yeh I thought that was him, he looks like a kid! thats cool you noticed that, I would have never If I did'nt post this clip. Thx for watchin...
