It was very obvious to me that the two people walking in the middle of the group were children. The women had their children in the middle to protect them. Watch it again closely, you can see that they are about half as tall as the outer people.

Rules of engagement require that U.S. troops acquire visual proof that the individuals in question are conducting terrorist activities, such as planting a bomb or directly attacking U.S. troops or civilians in general. There are many terrorist organizations besides the taliban, and all of them are planting bombs on the side of the road. Don't second guess a situation from a armchair, you just don't know the facts.

@marwouan It is great that you want to say automaticly that the U.S. army did it when it is declared by the offical report both in the news and in the army reports that it was a NATO helicopter, not U.S. army. Again, most of the incidents in that particular province seem to be from NATO mistakes. U.S. army ROE is in effect, and is not the cause of this accident.

@marwouan Oh, and it is common in a warzone for NATO aircraft to fly over a U.S. controlled area, we are allies after all. Just because the area is controlled by U.S. land bases doesn't mean that NATO has no presence there. In every war, there is collateral damage, and in comparison to previous wars conducted by any other country, we have generated the least collateral damage possible.
