I saw them in Oxford in the very early nineties, playing in a college refrectory, with no stage. Most people there did not "get" them. I danced so much I fell over!!! The greatest night of my life, from what I can remember. Love this band!
I used to love gettin into theose chunky basslines! They anchor the whole song to the floor and give it a good kickin so that it writhes around! Might be slow and easy to play but they really are so involved, used to love jamming along with record on the bass to (all) their albums!!!
ahh a classic from Going Blank Again, though I preferred Nowhere personally, a great cd neither less much better than Carnival Of Light era stuff, though that album had some good songs, 1000 miles and the re release has Don't Let It Die, too bad they ended on a bad note with Tarantula
oh ye i'm sure you fuckin wankers know way more about ride than the kids dancing AT THE FUCKIN RIDE PERFORMANCE IN '92 you stupid shitheads, it's because of dumb cunts like yourself that they broke up. i suppose you'd rather they stand there with their arms folded??? idiots.
Never heard the Wonderstuff guy to be honest. I'll check him out though as i've always got time to appreciate quality drumming. (i meant Matt Helders, not Holders oops)
Okay weird, because I'm at the front too. Can't believe I've just found this, as I was such a fan, still am kind of. Wilkoman?? I reckon I know who you are!
Would love to have lived in London in the late 80s/early 90s. Was too young and too poor to travel. Shame that London is not one of my most hated cities...
I loved The Word and Ride. I can't believe I missed this performance back then. The Word, wasn't that the best???!!! Wasn't it considered pretty groundbreaking for the early 90s? Thanks so much for posting. I love Mark Gardeners new stuff. Great stuff! Check it out.
I can't watch this without thinking of the Ride impersonation on The Mary Whitehouse Experience

Without a doubt one of the finest live bands I've ever seen. Their sound just steamrolled over you.

Saw them on this tour in the states, the show was incredible. Sadly they never returned but this was one of the greatest shows I've seen to this day.
