My nose ring is infected and it's starting to develope that gross pimple-like thing. If I keep cleaning it, will it go away and how long until it goes away?
I have a really important question about my nose piercing..hopefully you or someone can help me.... ok so i had my nose pierced for about 6 months now, and 3 months ago, i went to put in a new cork screw, and it took me 3 hours to get it in.. so i took the cork screw and bent the "U" shape straighter so it would FINALLY get through my nose (which it did) and my nose piercing is ALWAYS sore. could this be why? or is it because of something else? I asked on yahoo answers, but nobody helped! HELP
Im 14 and got my nose pierced about 5 days ago. ALL I do is wash my hands w/antibacterial soap, and spray my piercing down with h2ocean. H2ocean is the only product GARUNTEED to work if you follow the directions. I got mine at hot topic for 15 dollars. since I've been using the h2ocean, there has been no redness, or crustyness, and the pain has become almost none-existent. I HIGHLY reccomend the h2ocean.
Mine didn't swell or anything. It bled when I got it done but Ireland hurt. It didn't get red or puss or anything. I only used water and a q-tip to clean it an used triple antibiotic ointment and left it alone and it's totally fine. They told me to wait 2-3 weeks to change it. I wouldn't recommend using alcohol or any kind of soap at all to clean it. Just water was fine for me.
that girl in your class should of not put the ear ring as a nose ring!!! That is one thing you do NOT do with a nose piercing! Get a REAL nose jewerly..I'm also guessing she didn't sterilize it properly...
you can also do sea salt soaking(: to clean it, take a cotton swab dip it in the seal sat mixture and clean your piercing that way..
Hi I got my nose pierced 3 days ago and i my piercer told me to clean it with a alcohol swab and i have been doing tht. when i cleaned it last night there was blood crust around my nose ring and it was swelling. and now my nose is REALLY swollen on the outside. i mean like my stud is completely in my nose. like if i push it from the inside it will come out but other then tht its not coming out. n after i got home from school i put some neosporen on it.
@khizrarizvi Oh god, you did the worst things! Your piercer was completly wrong. Do not use alcohol to clean the piercing, it will dry it out and make it very sore and neosporin will create a barrier so air cannot get to the piercing, making it take longer to heal. Do what I describe in the video and the swelling should go down.
@khizrarizvi you need to use a ph balanced soap! NEVER use alcohol neosporin antiseptic wash NONE of that. you need to use the dial gold soap thats what i used and thats what my piercer told me and never had an infection.
i got my nose pierced with a gun about 5 days ago, and on the 3rd/4th day, it fell out and when I tried putting it back in, it hurt real bad. Now its really swollen and on the inside of my nose, the back is not as thick as the actual stud.
Its the kind with the little ball at the end, but its barely sticking out.
@clllarrraaa um, it could be. Try cleaning it in the way I described in the video and so sea salt soaks or h2ocean everyday. You should be able to change it within a month.
@residentevilbeast ok i dont mean to be a dick but u dont ahve any facial piercings watsoever and noe experience of what can actually go wrong so you shudnt be giving out adivce no mater how much crap u read up on.. your nose piercing is alls wollen cause of the irritation of putting the stud back in and also the trauma of getting pierced with a gun which is a no no.. u want to fix dat problem? get a longer post.. and jewlery dat is actualy meant for your nose and keep in for at least 2 months

@PaigeBieberX Every time you change it, it will be sore until it is fully healed, about 8-10 weeks. Are you using surgical steel for your jewelry or sterling silver?

@LeahStorm I think the screw type is better because it has less of a chance to fall out. The nose bone actually has a ball on the end that is painful to insert because it is bigger than the actual hole.

@AmberAnatomyy If you dont have the sea salt I would reccomend H2Ocean. You can get it online or any hot topic. If not then the last resort would be saline solution like for contacts.
@45cooljv it is best to use rox salt, you dont need very much. You disolve it in warm/hot water and it should taste like tears. I use an eggcup to soak my nose in, aswell as using q-tips to clean it .. :)
I just had mine done yesterday and I'm supposed to turn it in place to prevent it from crusting a whole bunch. Mine didn't hurt when I got it nor did it bleed at all. It hurts to yawn and sometimes breathing a big breath through my nose. Hopefully I can get over that cause I get my braces off next week.
Oh and when I was pushing up my glasses, they tugged up on my nose ring and yank it Half way out and I'm pretty sure it tore the hole a but bigger.. Will the tear heal?

wow. some bad advice they gave you. You need to take a qtip and wet it, then clean around the piercing from the top and inside. Then get a dime size amount of antibacterial soap and lather it up. Then place it on the top of the piercing. Move the jewelry up and down gently then rinse off. Finish off with sea salt soaks 3 times a day. Not table salt.
@ransi remeber to be gentle, if you dont it will disturb the fresh wound. Try as hard as you can to clean it wth q-tips and saltwater or you can use anti bactirial hand soap. If it gets worse go see the piercer who pierced and let them handle it. if they are not professional then go see a professional piercer.
Sounds like a bad case of dry skin. Maybe the make-up you use or something? Id try nutrogena face lotion or some olive oil on it at night. Just sounds like the hole is getting too dry.

My nose piercing was really easy to keep under control, I mean I cleaned it twice a day for a few weeks... the worst thing about it is that if it accidentally gets touched when you first have it it hurts so much! And even now sometimes mine plays up and hurts for no apparent reason. And it hurt to get done in my opinion.
I use a blow dryer rather than touching the piercing at all. I healed my nostril in 3 months, wearing titanium and keeping it dry. I wouldn't reccomend H2Ocean. Kinda goes against keeping it dry all the time. Just my 2 cents.

well oh well mine has not got infected yet (knock on wood) ive got a month left!!!

@courtneeylynn it is healed in six weeks but it is best to wait 3 months to be sure, this way u will lower the risk of infection.

My nose piercing was really easy to keep under control, I mean I cleaned it twice a day for a few weeks... the worst thing about it is that if it accidentally gets touched when you first have it it hurts so much! And even now sometimes mine plays up and hurts for no apparent reason. And it hurt to get done in my opinion.

I use a blow dryer rather than touching the piercing at all. I healed my nostril in 3 months, wearing titanium and keeping it dry. I wouldn't reccomend H2Ocean. Kinda goes against keeping it dry all the time. Just my 2 cents.
