The reason why I think the S400 is better than the 350 other than fuel economy is the quietness it's much more silent than the 350&500 I've driven most of the hybrids out there & if only I was 30 years older & 280hp sufficed I would've got it Am fine with my GS450 it's more of a muscle hybrid to show these mustang owners off with not only power by the M-K sound system .of course getting lower tax , 85% lower isn't bad either ...I'd get an S400 over an LS600h anytime it's much more serene

I think the reason Mercedes did create a mild hybrid, not a full one like the Lexus LS 600hL, is because it tests these cars on the AUTOBAHN, so weight is a detriment to performance. You want to assure that it can brake quickly enough from 150 mph and can be very manueverable if an accident occurs.
