For instance, if someone flips you over, while most people would probably land on their back windless, a wushu practitioner might be able to roll out of it or front flip to land on their feet. I don't know that much about capoiera, sorry.

For just straight up street brawls, I would suggest san-da if you can find a good school for it where you are. It's the official fighting style of the Chinese Army and it includes takedowns, kicks, and almost every type of attack. If san-da isn't an option I guess just boxing or MMA. The reason I suggested san-da is because it can be learned relatively quickly, unlike internal forms like tai chi.
