i want a time machine so i can go back to late 1970s early 80s manchester and just hang out in small, dark cigerette filled english pubs and dance to the happy mondays, JD, The Jam and co. till i ended up in a fit<3
@BoomZzzZ Yeah they are stood on the flyover just outside Nuneaton on the A444. It was taken the day they played Nuneaton Village Hall in 1969 and Ian Curtis bought along his homemade Lemon Curd which he sold to me for 3 old pence at the village halls bring and buy sale after the gig to support Ians charity he set up called WARSAW (We Always Recall Suicide As Wasteful) he also sold a hand knitted bog roll holder in the shape of a tormented two timing epileptic drunk. Ahead of his time.
@paulrosewell666 Okay i re-read it just for you.Glad i did, such insight you have.Maybe write a book about the Lemon Curd? And go on Antique roadshow with the loo roll holder.
And we could daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaance!!!!!
I love this song. But, there is an older version. I have it on vinyl from when they still called themselves Warsaw. So, this isn't the original version, but it is still GREAT!!!
@majerlet Their finest hour' I was in a punk cover band called the condition the first time we did this i broke up and missed the start of the next song!!!!
Fuck! You miss the point in every single possible way! All of you...This is not a dance song. This is the opposite of a dance song, deliberately using a forward beat on a 120 bpm tempo, to satirize it. It's about the empty existential space of having to dance to the radio, in your own grim place, with your own grim partner because it's the end of all domestic, personal and artistic creativity. And it's done to a dance tempo. Christ on a bike.

In 1989,when I first heard Joy division,I thought it terrible.Mainly coz I was into metal.
Now I have a greater appreciation for Mr. Curtis and the style of music he plays.
