  • Did Mim turn into Tick-Tock?

  • Wow! I remember this. :)

  • Its sad when something this old is generally more terrifying than most of the stupid shit out today

  • Wish it was in better quality though...

  • This is the one I remember from the nineties!!! I still have it recorded on VHS (but w/out the Eisner intro). I kept watching the other versions on youtube and knew right away they weren't the same one based solely on the theme song.

CHILDREN OF THE 90'S! THIS IS THE ONE YOU'LL REMEMBER!!!

  • I KNOW I used to watch this is in the ninety's. Today's disney channel has no disney left in it.

  • Maybe one of the eeriest things Disney's team ever painted were those spirits slowly easing through the noose hanging from that dead tree.

  • haha, this is so what I would watch every year, no matter what! Glad it's on youtube now :)

  • I get the idea that Disney had a soft spot for the macabre. The Skeleton Dance, the queen's lab in Snow White, Sleepy Hollow, the banshee an the stagecoach in Darby O'Gill & the Little People, and on and on.

  • Back when I was in high school (god, I'm old) we got to play Night on Bald Mountain in concert band, and I had all of the fun parts because I played the orchestra bells. That was a great piece, if you can imagine a bunch of band geeks and our director practically headbanging to it (anyone remember headbanging? Anyone?)

  • @klstehn Isn't headbanging what trendy soccer kids do all over YouTube now? Uh yes I heard of it, duh.

  • That pic in the been of Mickey Mouse should show people what Disney is all about...

  • Man this brings back some memories...good stuff

  • I just love this intro music.....

  • I am twelve going on thirteen, I wasn't even born in that wonderful era of Disney but I love it a whole lot more than what they're airing now. I could care less about stupid pop stars and wannabe wizards. This is the true magic of Disney and I'm proud to say I'm growing up on this instead of what we have now. Thank you for uploading this and thank the other people for uploading other Disney Channel classics from the 80s-90s. <3

  • Michael Eisner, before he went crazy.

  • @jeffreysnydr haaa, true dat

  • What's scary about this video , is Michael Eisner at the beginning. ~chills~ jk , jk , or am i? :/ Anyways , classic stuff.

  • Love that special. I have seen it every halloween.

    Greetings from Germany

  • OMGZ! My Childhooooood! *sob sob sob* YAAAY!!!

  • Now this is classic Halloween! I remember watching this so many times either before or after trick-or-treating around our neighborhood when I was a kid. It always got me into the "spirit" of the season, and continues to be a staple of my Halloween movie watching experience.

  • @DisneyFan16672 mine too!! :0)

  • I am 19 years old and I remember watching this every year on Halloween with my older sisters. I was so blessed to watch the same, classic Halloween cartoons that made my day with the fantastic music and little voice. Thank you so much for bringing back part of my childhood. You are truly a hero. <3

  • why don't they have this on Disney channel anymore? I loved this! the Disney these days sucks

  • @ses2314 That's exactly how I feel! 8o} Shit I'm 27 now,but dammit I'd definitely be watching the Disney channel more if they still showed classic stuff like this lol

  • I don't suppose anyone knows where I can find a working link to this?

  • I agree with most of the posters on this video. This truly was when Disney made sense, and was so much better than it currently is. During these times, kids were able to have fun with the holiday and be festive. On Halloween, there were always cartoons being shown. Now, it seems like all the fun has been taken out of Halloween. I remember this cartoon very well, those were the days!!!

  • @DevaSTating1913 Thanks to the media frauds who use fear-mongering about candy and predators just to rake in the profits. When I was a kid, not once did I ever experience an abduction and kids were not dropping dead all around from eating candy. We had a blast!

  • Very nice! Disney, when it was good.

    Greetings from Germany!

  • Boy, Goofy has a great costume!

  • nostalgia at its best :)

  • 59 and 1:30-1:37 scared me to death as a kid. I was afraid of our front rooms for ages because they reminded me of this. (which is weird because I loved these specials)

  • Classics ROCK!!! I love a good Disney Classic

  • Comment removed

  • i love classics

  • oh man! They showed this when i was a kid in the 90s but i was too little to remember it, so my dad taped it and now we watch it every halloweeen. It's not quite the same though because the tape is sooo bad, but this is great! thanx a million for posting it!! :D

  • @DTVzone First off, thanks for posting this! I, like so many othrers, used to love watching this at Halloween along with the other Halloween specials channels like Nickelodeon used to have. Now then, I think I know what 2wingo means. Disney had another Halloween special before this called "A Disney Halloween Treat." It aired in 1982 and featured many of the same segments as this but was hosted by a talking jack o' lanturn. This special first aired in 1983. It can be easy to mix them up.

  • So where if anywhere can I buy these ? Clear versions because I know there not on DVD are they

  • THIS is the version I saw as a child and not the "Halloween Treat" version. I cherish this and I still have it on VHS of which also has "Halloween is Grinch Night" and "The Girl from the Future."

  • @DTVzone I meant the newer of the two Disney Halloween specials.

  • DO THEY HAVE THIS EXACT ONE ON DVD OR VIDEO?!?! I USED TO HAVE THIS WHEN I WAS A KID! SOMEONE PLEASE GET BACK TO ME!!! I REALLY WANT THIS THANKS!

  • @poopmate101

no this isn't available on dvd and neither is the pumpkin version. you can only get it on vhs for like a couple hundred bucks on amazon. best thing to do is download it and burn it off from ur computer.

  • @Disneyfan82 i agree with what you said and really you're right i mean halowen is fun, im 19 and still love it , but people that say halloween is for satan worshippers need to grow up, i agree some people do crazy things on that night, but dont punish your kids because of it

  • @winstonsims1234 Yeah October is pretty much the only month I excuse My sisters scaring Me and watching scary things on TV

  • was born in 91 and i remember they showed reruns of this in the 90s, around 95 or 96 i think

  • I saw that piece about that big satan dude when i was a little kid but i could never remember what it was called

  • @criminalgosling12 His name is Chernobog.

  • This is a classic this really takes me back to the OLD disney

  • oh the memories this brings back :)

  • I remember having to watch this every Halloween! This is so great :) Thanks for sharing

  • i miss the days when Disney had some balls and did animation that bordered on adult.

  • I know this won't happen, but I'd love to see a channel, or at least a regular series, maybe weekly, probably late night. "Disney Treasures," or perhaps "Original Disney." It would air their original cartoons and features, all of them, and be preceded with a warning: "The following films are aired in their original forms. No attempt has been made to adapt them to modern sensibilities."

  • Back in the days (early Fifties) the Disneyland TV show was on Wednesdays and at Halloween, they would show the Night on Bald Mountain segment from Fantasia, and a Donald Duck cartoon where Huey, Dewey and Louis go out treat or treating. They had a song called "Treat or Treat for Halloween." They also had a early cartoon Lonesome Ghosts with Mickey, Donald and Goofy as Ghostbusters.

  • lmao got a huge kick at Goofy's "costume" and Eisner's reaction was perfect.

  • i can do a killer mickey mouse impression and i freak my mates out by hiding and saying creepy stuff XD

  • Those dancing ghosts always fascinated me. My mates thought they were scary, I thought they were beautiful ^^

  • I really wish Disney would bring this special to DVD and Blu-ray with the cartoons and audio remastered if only just for the old-school fans, because I realize how much technology is leaving behind My way to watch it on a TV, I lack a VCR to play it on My family's wide screen TV since it just has a DVD player but the VCR in My room only shows static with video tapes now and only works with DVDs but not tapes, I realize I won't be able to rely on that recorded VHS forever. I mean *2bcont.*

  • *Continued* I mean I appreciate what DTVzone is doing by uploading these specials online but nothing compares to watching them on an actual TV in an official legal way. I mean every year at Halloween I wonder why this special still never comes out on DVD or Blu-ray, I'd much rather watch it than the stupid Miley Cyrus, High School Musical, and Jonas Brothers crap, I mean I'm thankful I still have it on recorded VHS but even then I'm still losing the means to watch it.

  • Disney used to make such simplistic but beautiful cartoons. They had such depth. Nowadays cartoons have a more adult sense of humor but no adult sense of depth or beauty.

  • Used to watch this every year.

  • thnxxz 4 uploadng.!!!

  • Love the old Disney, but I hate what Eisner did to the company

  • @DConS81 This was first aired in 1982, a few years before Eisner had any involvement with the company. Also, Eisner generally made good decisions until around 1995, when various checks and balances to his power over the company eroded. You know the rest of the story.

  • @DConS81 I don't mean to sound behind the times, but what did Eisner do to the company? Old disney definetly classic!

  • @DConS81

Eisner knows how to do 2 things: Make money, and tick people off.

  • @DConS81 i like what he did to it

  • @totaldrambeatles22 untill Jeffery katzenberg took control

  • This is what Disney is all about. Now we get...well, yanno.

  • I know they aired this in the 90s when i was younger god it was freakin awesome! I miss the old Disney :/

  • @NemoNameless0 I miss the old Disney Channel too.

  • @tjk200081 yeah its just not the same anymore

  • Dancing Skeletons are great!

  • Do they still show a Disney Halloween anymore? *Am heading up to Salem for Halloween :-)

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I loved this as a kid and I still do! It completes my Halloween. :)

  • I used to watch this all the time when I was little! I literally wore out the tape till it snapped! When I was 2 years old I wanted a bat birthday cake (I'm female, btw) because I liked the Night on Bald Mountain sequence so much (I got an early start at being "the weird kid" I guess) and I got it, too! I don't remember much about being 2 but I remember my parents taking me to the cookie stand in the mall and getting me one of those giant party cookies with a big bat frosted on :-)

  • Disney's Halloween Treat, Raggedy Ann and Andy (pumpkin who couldn't smile) and The halloween Tree were all my favorites as a kid.... It's too bad our younger crowd has to deal with "nothing" or at the very least that Scary Godmother Halloween Spooktakular.

  • the way disney is gonna be again when i work for it.

  • @arod12234 you go and please make it soon

  • nostalgic

  • this is what i grew up with the best times

  • i remember this!!!!!

  • i watched this every single halloween before trick or treating! such great memories... and to this day, i still catch myself singing the theme song.

  • GREAT CLASSIC!!

  • Why are the skeletons colored like that?

  • My mom recorded tis forever ago for me and my siblings and I remembered i always insisted on watching it every year! It's tradition, I mean I can't have a halloween without watching this! It brings back the best memories!

  • @princebuddy08 the same for me, Halloween simply hasn't started until we pop in the vhs with this on it :)

  • when disney was better

  • this was my favorite halloween special when i was little

  • Ughhh.. WHAT HAPPENED TO DISNEY?!?! They should at least have a Disney Classic channel.. Without all the crap they have now for kids, such a shame.

  • I hate it when overprotective parents try to ruin everything these days over little things. No offense to anyone's parents. But some of them need to learn that they can't just hide their children from the world forever. They'll have to let them go someday, but how is not letting them trick or treat on Halloween gonna teach them anything. They'd be missing out on part of their childhood. Anyways, watching these holiday cartoons bring back memories from the time when Disney was once cool.

  • @Disneyfan82 i have to agree. i was one of those poor kids that didn't go trick or treating..my mom wouldn't let any of us kids cause she said it was the devil's holiday. it sucked

  • @ShadowVixen06

THat is a shame. Sure Halloween along with other pagan holidays might have started off on the wrong foot, but the real issue wouldn't be the holiday itself, it would be what people do with it. Now it is celebrated as a fun event. Halloween can be fun as long as people learn to take proper precautions and don't do things that involve hurting people or animals.

  • @Disneyfan82 In fact the festival Samhain - The Festival of the Dead is still celebrated in the wiccan tradition.

  • @Disneyfan82 People seem to forget that most of these cartoons are from a different time. Leonard Malton said it best in the Disney Treasures...Disney can either pretend they never made them or present them and just mention that times were different and we are better now.

Best example....I can't believe Song of the South hasn't been released on DVD (or blue ray) yet.

  • @jwace Indeed, times were different, people weren't bombarded with phantom fears in the media who now get very rich off of it. People just wanted to have fun on Halloween and they did.

  • ya it sucks that people wont let their children go out and celebrate halloween because of religion or what other nonsense...i mean im a christian and i grew up as a christian but i would never stop my kids from celebrating with the rest of the other kids

  • God I miss the "Disney's Halloween Treat" song. So fun to listen to.

I taped this back in '91, but I haven't been able to find the tape it's on in the past couple of years, so I'd like to thank you for putting this up so I can still watch this special every year.

  • @ReijiThePhantom same here!! we have it on tape but I cant find it either!!!

  • I love this! The old cartoons are awesome!

Do kids even know their cartoons are preaching PC garbage at them today?

Let them out of your sight to play ghost in the graveyard, and they'll build courage & character the fun way. Kids are so hovered over, trick or treating with the sun out if at all! Sad. Tell your kids that someone wants to hurt them around every corner & you'll only teach them fear. Fear paralyzes the spirit of every child. Fear is not awareness, never has been.

  • ugh this is how disney should be!

  • Oh such sweet memories! I saw this when I was about 4 in 1985 or 86. Never missed it again when it came on (before the drivel that is aired on Disney now...)

  • I miss this so much! As a kid I would always watch this around halloween time :D back in the day when disney was still a decent channel that had good stuff on.

  • Ugh, I'm like an adult now, but I love this! I hate that my little sister never knew that Disney actually made awesome cartoons. I miss the times when Disney had holiday shows air all month long.

  • it's things like this that make me love youtube...I've been looking for this forever. Thanks for posting

  • Almost identical to "Disney's Halloween Treat". Bald Mountain comes from the Disney hit "Fantasia", where classical musical is played and viewers can learn to appreciate different variations of genres. The dark-haunted Bald theme came from appreciating classical Rock. Also, loved "The Sword And The Stone". Madame Mim still remains one of Vault Disney's legend villians to this day. She always had a light humor to her sneaky ways.

  • @DTVzone thank you. I had originally heard that the first Halloween party took place on Bald Mountain. I'm going to google that to see when the actual date was. Sounds interesting!

  • @uglykitty18 That's just.......sad.

  • These were when cartoons were good.

  • Now this is the Disney I remember. Come back to us please!

  • "Squash me. will ya?!"

"Uh-uh-uh, Merlin!" *bites own tail* "OUCH! Ooh! Just you wait! Just you wait! You're gonna pay!" *crashes against rock* "Oooohhh...."

  • This always scared me as a kid, but I would watch it every Halloween. :)

  • I totally looked forward to watching this every October, and it was awesome! But then they replaced it with crappy 3-D animated retardedness...

  • Wow...memories.

  • disneys halloween!!!

  • I wish the Disney Channel would still do this. They'd gain their cool points back.

  • Woooow I didn't think I'd ever see this again. I remember Coming home from trick or treating and watching this every halloween. I miss those days so much

  • 09:48 poor mim

    09:52 aim!

    10:00 BULLS EYE! lol

  • grew up watchin this. i love halloween

  • Man, when I was a kid my mom recorded this off of TV and I watched it like crazy, unfortunately I lost the VHS. Man this brings back MEMORIES.

  • @haloaddict64 Haha, me too!

  • Thank you so much for posting these...Oh my God does this take me back!!!...I can't wait to show our kids these classics I so fondly remember...Oh how time slips away.......

  • I think Merlin's duel against Madame Mim was probably one of the most entertaining parts of The Sword in the Stone.

  • @Melissails I thought so too

  • Before disney sucked. I loved this so much as a kid. i miss it a lot. thanks for the post!

  • when disney still was magical.......so sad that it has become lame.

  • I taped this off tv back when it was still showing and I try to watch it right around Halloween every year. So nice to see it here on YouTube where it can be shared by others and a younger generation can be shown it.

  • The Night on Bald Mountain segment from Fantasia here, well as odd as it sounds back when I was little none of it ever scared Me despite the way Chernabog looked and all the ghostly monsters and demons he summond. Though My memory likes toplay tricks on Me because now that I've seen the Fantasia segment I see that he hides from the sunrise but before I saw that My memory rememberd that lightning from the heavens struck him and he fell off behind his mountain or something like that and *2bcont.*

  • *Continued* and thats how My memory from before remembers the end to the Night on Bald Mountain segment. But like I said My memory played tricks on Me. Anyways I hope Chernabog is a boss in the upcoming Epic Mickey game, though since he isn't completely forgotten I wonder if he isn't not recent enough to be included in Epic Mickey I would have to say the darker version of him in this segment in Fantasia isn't used a whole lot recently these days by Disney for fear it might scare *2bcont.*

  • *Continued* for fear it might scare children (which I guess is the same reason the Heffalumps aren't portrayed like they were in Blustery day and the more villainous ones in The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh) and yes I know the darker version of Chernabog appeared in Kingdom Hearts as a boss but the first Kingdom Hearts was released ages ago and yes I know he appeared in House of Mouse but so did Phantom Blot and he's in. And besides I never got to fight Chernabog in Kingdom Hearts *2bcont.*

  • *Continued* besides I never got to fight Chernabog in Kingdom Hearts anyway, and even if I did I still want him to appear in Epic Mickey, and besides I bet a whole lot of you would like him to appear in Epic Mickey too. I mean I can't be the only one can I?

  • this used to be somewhat of a Halloween tradition for maybe 5 years as a child was to watch this when it aired on Disney Channel...i'm sure other 80's born kids can relate

  • i miss disney when it was sicker than shit

i remember when i saw this i shit my pants cus it was fucking scary when i was little

  • They should play this on abc family EVERY HALLOWEEN!!!!! :D :) :D

  • @mariseladullum I'm with you this should be shown like the Grinch and charlie brown for christmas. EVERY HALLOWEEN. I mean they show Halloween Town every year on Disney, and Hocus Pocus

  • @Blackheartrises haha YEAH! :D thats what i'm saying!!! :D :) we should all revolt!! haha jk but yeah they show everything else BUT this :/

  • this was a halloween treat. i sure missed this. THEY WILL NEVER BRING THIS TO A LIGHT OF DAY, not the way disney is now. so water down like nickeldeon and cartoon network is.

  • How Can People Hate this Piece of Great Disney???

  • Anyway, thank you so much for uploading this. I haven't seen this in so many years

I remember watching this when i was really little. My dad taped it, but it got lost for years. It also had on it Casper's halloween special, Flinstones' halloween special (i don't remember what the name of it was), & Halloween is Grinch night.

I love a Disney halloween. it was always my favorite disney holiday special, also i loved the theme to a Disney halloween.

  • the noise at 8:55 for some reason scared me when i first watched this when i was 2.

But i still loved watching the scene from the Sword in the Stone i still do.

I love The Sword in the Stone

  • I've always loved a Disney haloween ever since i was about after 2.

this was also my favorite scenes from both Fantasia & The Sword in the Stone.

  • I need your help again DTVzone.

Where can I find a high quality version of "A Disney Halloween" or, Disney's Greatest Villians? -The torrent for this version at 666mb isn't that good, but your download here was a better video source except the file size was small, and the magic mirror scenes didn't convert that well to a 4:3 aspect ratio.

  • back when disney was awesome

  • I FINALLY FOUND THESE CARTOONS!!!! :)

  • so many memories.

  • i love this! i have it on vhs but i cant find it atm. but i used to watch it all the time, even have a shirt that has the skeleton dance on it. <3 <3 <3

  • i remember this XD

i think i have it all recorded in my VHS stacks somewhere

  • @12gonzales You are lucky, i wish i still had the one my dad taped. Though i do still have Disney's halloween treat that i got off of amazon.com.

  • @TheAllcroft

XD i'm srry...we have no idea where it is anyways

  • @12gonzales Thats alright.

  • So horribly spooky and wonderful.

  • I miss my Disney Channel from the 90's :'(

  • Night mare on bald mountain! Best art and music Disney did!

  • this is insane ive watched this ever since i was 3

  • Oh my god. Oh my goddy god god.

That bit with Bald Mountain...holy hell, that's just straight-up Nightmare Fuel.

  • This for Halloween is the same as Charlie Brown and the Grinch for Xmas, it wasn't right if you didn't this for Halloween

  • I grew up watching this every halloween

  • Aw....Thanks for posting this!!!!!

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. I can't find the VHS from when my Aunt recorded this for me in the early 90's.

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!

  • I loved watching this special when I was four. lol.

  • Eisner got PWND!

  • OMG :D

    i love dis

  • AH ITS MIKE!!

  • me and the family taped this one night long time ago, it also recorded Grinch Night, 2 classics

  • wow

    memories

  • "A Disney Halloween was a 90-minute Halloween-themed television special that included portions from both Disney's Halloween Treat (1982) and Disney's Greatest Villains (1977) featuring classic short cartoons and excerpts of various villains from Disney feature films. It was hosted by an offscreen narrator and the Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs"

    - wikipedia

no one posted "disney's greatest villains"

    so thanks for posting!

  • I have to miss Halloween tonight cuz Im sick :( But Im glad that I can watch this to make me feel better.

    I miss the old Disney
