  • @pyropuck There are 8 minute songs on this album so dude is wrong

  • This album is the shit though

  • distorted guitars <3 crappy voice<3 i love them my fav is cherub

  • Smashing Pumpkins are way underrated

  • @prstonhood5 and unappreciated

  • The riff sounds like love and truth crashing everything that is fake in this world. Like Gods victory dance. The chorus is ok, but the verse is not from this world!!!! Thanks for posting this amzing song!!

  • Everyone seems to be so nostalgic of the 90ties...I don't get it, dwelling in the past is so useless and makes you feel like today's no good. Nowdays music is great too, it's just harder find in the mainstream.

  • @grafiene right. and i mean its not like you can't just go use todays technology like youtube or an ipod and listen to it there.

  • @lowflipinrain Yeah but they didn't record it with computers, they did it to tape and that's why it came out so good. And they also didn't use as much compression as they do now to make it ultra loud. People could do that now and we could have good music again but everyone wants to say that's living in the past. But the sound quality of the past's recordings are better.

  • For example the new Chili Peppers album was recorded to tape I believe and it's way superior to most other stuff that comes out these days.

  • @dubified89 The Chili Peppers blow Donkey Cock and have since about 2000 , before that they were great.

  • @grafiene roflmfao

  • @grafiene Read some fucking books, mayb that would help 2 andestand people better!!!!

  • @grafiene Today's music is not great and it's not just the mainstream.

  • :)

  • This music helped me and a lot of my friends during our childhoods probably cause our parents are all fucked up baby boomers

  • Best song off Pisces Iscariot. THIS ALWAYS GETS STUCK IN MY HEAD. Gish, Siamese Dream, PISCES ISCARIOT, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, and Adore FOREVER!!!!!! None of their new shit though >.>

  • @EnvelopsTheBathtub Their new shit isn't bad, it's just recorded poorly. They didn't use all the digital technology back then and it was better.

  • I completely agree with you darthrudious!!! We were a lucky bunch to listen to the greats that made music back when music was real music.

  • I am so thankful I had my teen years during the 90's.. I truly believe that everyone who grew up in that era was blessed to have bands like the smashing pumpkins to come home to.

  • @darthrudious I tooootallly agree. I'm 16 now..but I still listen to allll the 90's music. So much better than what kind of music is made nowadays. I'm actually going to an SP concert this weekend! Hell yeah!

  • @iwuvzyou2 I envy you girl!! It will be an experience that you will never forget!

  • I rember this as my favorite song from this band in the late 90's. Right now im still jamming to the pumpkins. got a problem?

  • Didn't he write this song while waiting for his Dad at the airport? I could be wrong ... awesome, awesome solo on this track.

  • Corgan's from chicago not seattle. As much as I love pumpkins their not grunge.

  • @SeraSnot you know just cuz a band isnt from seattle doesnt mean theyre not grunge. lol, Kurt Cobain wasnt from Seattle!

  • my wake up song :D

  • my boredom has outshined the sun...

  • mom : it's time for school .. go get ready

    Me : it's time for GRUNGE !!

mom : it's time for college .. go get ready

    Me : It's time for GRUNGE !!

mom : It's time for marriage .. go get ready

    Me : It's time for GRUNGE !!

Wife : Honey, It's time we play on the bed !!

    Me : It's time I play GRUNGE !!

  • @Bradal4ck i'm pretty sure that no comment can ruin a song...

  • this used to be my wake up song

  • My bottom has outshone the sun :D

  • 2 people had family who died in hiroshima and nagasaki

  • I want to have some fun SO I'LL PLAY A GUITAR SOLO.

  • Where can you download this song ):???

  • essa musica eh foda

  • The guitar in this song reminds me a lot of Today which I'm learning right now. Very similar.

  • @whpriol1 Not really...

  • "My boredome has outshone the sun"...favourite lyric ever.

  • Best line ever I dont care or give a fuc&! :)

  • This song describes how I feel when I wake up in the morning! :)

  • This song is kick ass! :)

  • Don't know what you guys are smoking, but he clearly says "outshone" NOT the grammatically incorrect "outshined"

  • This is the good shit before Billy Corgan became way too ambitious and self-indulgent.

  • @Bagelbutcher Whatever, Mellon Collie rocks

  • @dubified89 Mellon Collie ROCKS

  • Agreed.

  • This pretty much explains my day-to-day life. Laying on the bed, doing nothing...my boredom has outshined the sun.

  • awesome band =]

  • @MrRob777 It's definitely, man.

  • This song is my fucking life. Smashing Pumpkins are the greatest fucking band in the fucking world. They fucking put Pearl Jam, fucking Nirvana, and fucking Alice in Chains all to fucking shame. And fucking Soundgarden

  • @albayati1000, You speak the truth. I completely agree...

  • @albayati1000 thank god you are not a songwriter,i imagine the lyrical content would be quite limited lol.but i do agree with you

  • Definately the best Pumpkins Album

  • PERFECT MORNING DRIVING SONG TO BLAST AND PISS OFF THE OTHERS ON THE ROAD.

  • this song promotes lazyness, the riff is so distorted and sluggish, absolutely amazing.... and the solo intermissions - just beautiful.... this is without any doubt the single best alt. rock band ever

  • i love his voice. is so unique

  • simon q si con esa rola

  • Oh yeah. Another day. Oh yeah. *rolls eyes* God, oh please.

    such a great song!

  • se queda corto smashing pumpkins con nirvana

  • @TheKaipers tss... nirvana al lado de smashing se queda corto diras.

  • James Iha is a fucking cool cat, what made is transition into obscurity?

  • The only band I fell in love with as they were growing. This album, Gish, and Siamese Dream, filled me with more happiness than any band (or anything) ever has. We all have to grow and move on, but GOD, I wish I could be in that time and place forever. So many good things were in the world, especially these guys.

  • this song reminds me of me and my friends getting stoned on a boring summer afternoon

  • Im always amazed by billys ability to make simple structured song seem so unique and so fucking musical, his voice seems to just slide through these tones and colours, it all makes sense but the formula is so obscure, genius.

  • "I don't care or give a fuck" Amen Billy

  • Hey I'm guessing it's tape-flange - old school stuff (recorded to tape like old times) where they have 2 recordings of the same track, play them back simultaneously, and - literally - put a finger on the spool of one to slow/speed it up compared to the other. Sounds phenomenal and is very difficult to duplicate - actually impossible because each case of 'flanging' is a performance in itself. God Bless (and I am anti religion) Billy & co - un-fuckin-real!

  • @Bogwire thanks for the response!

  • Anyone knows what effect Billy is using in the solos? Sounds like some strange flanger-filter thing.. what pedal-rack whatever is it?

  • @iagobroxado The solo in Cherub Rock is famous for this too. Man I love the old school creativity of the Pumpkins, from another world

  • a song about teenage boredom.... great

  • this music takes me to another world. just close your eyes and listen.

this one makes me think of the memories i had with my friends when all we did was smoke pot...the memories i can remember, that is

  • this beats the shit out of todays music

  • One of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins albums.

  • To not be an actual studio album, this has to be one of the best "B-sides" compilations ever released as a full length. I have this on 12 inch vinyl.

  • @scenepointnazi You are very lucky, I love this album

  • this has always been my fave sp song; dude absolutely kills it on guitar

  • @jixrepoz I just love both SP and Nirvana, they're both so unique and amazing

  • @jixrepoz ok, so u should say I LIKE THE PUMPKINS MORE THAN NIRVANA, instead of saying its better with no argument

  • Smashing Pumpkins > Nirvana

    period

  • @Vertigo2903

please tell me why, why smashing pumpkins its better than nirvana?

  • @unemployable18 The songs are more interesting and not so one-dimensional like Nirvana songs.

  • @unemployable18 Easy - just listen to Smashing Pumpkins ;-)

  • Hey, does any1 know what the Pisces Iscariot album cover is of? Is that like D'arcy or some1 really close to the camera, or what?

    SP<3

  • @DaxinatorProductions its billy im sure with long hair, i think i can tell because of the shape of his nose, then like they blurred it because they were on drugs or whatever they were up to at the time haha

  • @zachpygott haha yeah i think ur right... quite an interesting album cover, huh?

  • @DaxinatorProductions I heard it was Billy's ex-wife's face up close and blurred.

  • @TheSPumpkin100 Yeah, the cover is Chris Fabian, his ex. He's confirmed it before

  • @TheSPumpkin100

really? i've never heard that...i always thought it wuz James Iha's face...hmmmm

  • @DaxinatorProductions nobody knows, it has been said that it's james iha, or billys ex wife, even courtney love with a cherry in his mouth.

  • Is this song about weed? It kinda seems like it

  • every time i listen to this, i remember of being sitting at my math class, just staring at the window, thinking and letting my imagination drive me away from that boring, gray environment to a shining, pink colored sky where all my friends were hanging out, and we where free to do whatever we want... such a powerful song, with such a simple meaning, being bored with nothing to do in a beautiful day...

  • im james summer reusers son imm sooooooo fukinn high hahaahhahahahahaha yea jus smoked sum sticky ass kush!!!!!!thanks big oscar!!!! i feel lik im in a dream filled with happy memories im sooooo lifted dam weed forever !!!!IM SOOOOOHIGHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!

  • Feels good going back to The Pumpkins ... you can tell the black sabbath influence there is on this song and the many others because of the tone

  • pwnaments

  • last guitar solo in the song is best of all time behind the one in "Here is No why"..powerful because he took his time and dragged those notes out to hit it just right

  • I agree completely, epic fuckin' shreddin'!

  • God that guitar tone is so thick...I want it, I want it, I want it!!!

  • Fucking Sexy Tune!!!!

    Can phase get ANY better?!!!

  • Such a good tune

  • PHASE TONE = BEST EVARRRR

  • MXR Phase 100, by the way.

  • The phaser has be set to stun...

    I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.

  • BADASS!

  • He wrote these lyrics while sitting in an airport, waiting for a flight. Hence the 'My boredom has outshined the sun' line.

(It's not grammatically correct, but it's awesome!)

This was always one of my favourite SP songs... there's something about it... it's just so... honest. It's like he's talking to you, and only you...

    Take care, pumpkin heads :)

  • Poetry doesn't necessarily always have to be grammatically correct as long as the the art and soul are conveyed. My sentiments are with yours. Awesome.

  • @LeatherCladVegan where/what is the grammatical error?

  • @cuseter

I'm pretty sure that even if you recognize 'outshined' as a verb in the past-tense, which I don't, it should be either 'My boredom outshined the sun' or 'My boredom has outshone the sun'... Mixing them up is a bit like saying 'I have did what you told me to', you know? :)

  • @LeatherCladVegan ouch, careful, too much book learnin' like that will rot your brains. ;o)

  • @LeatherCladVegan

I have to agree, wicKed song and wicKed album! i love the soothing vocals, lyrics are brilliant and the contrasting grungy guitar is purrrfect!

  • @purrfectlywicKed why do you spell stuff weird

  • @LeatherCladVegan he wrote such a dramatic, melancholic song about waiting for a flight??

  • @LeatherCladVegan Actually, that's highly debatable. "Shone" and "shined" are both frequently used past participles of "shine". Many grammarians and dictionaries make the distinction that "shined" should be the past participle in transitive usages, and "shone" in intransitive usages (no object). E.g. "My boredom has out-shined the sun" (sun is the object) vs. "The sun shone" (no object).

  • @WallyJoyner

Only if his boredom had been polished so as to shine, though, I think... If his boredom was emitting a natural glow, as can be deduced by the fact that it has outshone the sun, then I think it's wrong. 'My shoes were shined' sounds OK to me, but I would avoid saying 'outshined' at any cost, e.g; 'My shoes managed to outshine those of the other guy, all the while the sun outshone everything'.

    *shrug*

  • @LeatherCladVegan Shone is probably the more common past participle, but shined is common too. I think it's more common to hear "he shined the flashlight at something" vs. "he shone". Partly depends on where you're from though. "Shined" is a lot more common in American English than British. I think it's like have proven vs. have proved, both are often listed as correct, or"have got" vs. "have gotten". Anyway, one of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs!

  • @WallyJoyner

Hmm... actually I do see the point you are making.

  • @LeatherCladVegan yeah this almost sounds like a very personal love-song to someone... i'm so ashamed about listening-in on it yet so intrigues with the heavy guitar rifts that I can't stop listening.

  • @LeatherCladVegan It is a heavy song and it is relaxing to me.

  • @LeatherCladVegan I agree - its one of my faves too - and the lyrics rock too! Best wishes to you too fellow pumpkin head!

  • @LeatherCladVegan DID YOU JUST CALL ME A PUMPKIN HEAD?? FUCK YOU YOU LITTLE SHIT!!!

  • @ZzDe0 ?!? lol did you really just take offense to that ??? weird.....

  • @kingoftheswing000 Yeah that hurts a lot!

  • my boredom has outshined the sun.

  • one of my many favourites :)!

  • I like how a lot of Smashing Pumpkins songs are 1 word titles like Mayonaise, Siva, Rhinoceros, Blue, Down, and Soothe.

    Just think that's neat :p

  • This ALBUM is so underrated

  • THE SMASHING PUMPKINS are so underrated

  • YES! BY FAR!

  • @DX4LIFFE

OMG isn't it though??!! Itz by far one of their BEST and that's saying ALOT! lol

  • @DX4LIFFE

No it's not... It actually sold more than Siamese Dream did, so stop saying it's underrated please.

  • @MrMuh2504

State your sources. How did this album possibly outsell Siamese Dream?

Yes, it's stupid to say that this collection of b-sides is underrated because fans of the Pumpkins adhere to it, but you're saying it sold more than the classic Siamese Dream? State your references at once.

  • @Bagelbutcher He's wrong. Don't worry.

  • @MrMuh2504 It sold 1million copies, SD sold about 4 million.

  • @DX4LIFFE yeah this was easily Smashing Pumpkins best album

  • best song on the album

  • lazy solos but extremely musical not focused on pure speed are so good

  • and yet another deep kick groove that can propel many a disenchanted youth to give a slight head bob

  • the way you put that made my head bob.. not even lying to you

  • Hazy & Groovy song...thats why i like this track from the pumpkins

  • you basically just described jimi hendrix. can't blame you though. I love the pumpkins and hendrix.

  • You might possibly be right, because this actually is a little more fuzzy than a big muff, as I play with one myself, but then again it is possible probably to tweak some settings to get it to this point.

  • this brings me back woah, junior high.

  • Amazing guitar work.great album too.

  • manga378, try the boss metal head pedal with the treble turned about halfway down. that's the closest thing i can think of right off the top..
