  • Where there ever any prisoners that got left behind :O

  • if you ever want to go there, just play cod4 :)

  • Great video

  • what a great 2 part vid . call of duty 4 not only stole a part of children's lives but gave back a little history of a event long forgotten . the song '' big in japan by alphaville'' comes to mind.

  • 5:53 I think that pics of Lenin,Stalin,Gorbachev etc you can find only in Pripyat nowdays, cause it is the last Soviet city...

  • Yes most of us know that COD4 has a level based on this place. .stop mentioning it

and to those who think COD4 made the city originaly and this is all a set.. your a twit :|

  • scheiß übermut eines einzigen bauern!

wie viele menschen mittlerweile wirklich ihr leben lassen mussten weiß niemand

  • Comment removed

  • This is scary

  • No one cares aboout you either shitface, so get over it!

  • Dumb asses this place wasn't built for cod it is a real place that everyone was killed in after reactor 4 exploded and released radiation into the town go there and tell me it is from cod and was built for the game there is still toys and cars around left from the instantaneous deaths of children

  • @Tyler1Brown1

Well actually most of the townspeople were evacuated in a fleet of buses a couple of days after the explosion. but yes, you're right, the inhumane exposure to the radiation left an indelible mark on the lives of all of those involved, and their children, and their grandchildren. many innocent lives were ruined because of a catastrophe which could have been prevented.

  • Imagine,

When humanity dies out, this is what

all citys in the world will be like.

Chrenobyl will be a flea on an cows ass comparred to bigger citys like new york or moscow for god sake.

  • We are the future of our ancseters.we will find a way to destroy the Fucking radiation and the cancers sicknesses

  • I wonder when the radiation will be over in Prypiat

  • in a few hundred thousands of years...(no joke)

  • @TheThinkTanksKid

they say that it'll take up the 900 years before the radiation will fully abate, but i say more than that. but it's a relatively safe level for human presence, with the exception of the radioactive lichen and moss spots scattered across the town.

  • my town is from pripyat cca 900kilometer...f.ckin Russian politics...everything all right...no....nothing...all right...

  • o my god...this is real sound from chernobyl?impossible...

  • i was there 16 months ago, the only sounds i hear were wind, a few cars in the distance, some bords and at night, a wolf or cyoye howling far away. its scary silent. realy cool but you feel the sorrow of the thousands that died andf are dying from this still today.

  • 0:47 that building is from cod 4

  • you are right

they build this city as a set for COD4

  • @metalux1971

are you some sort of moron? thousands of REAL people died here, and many more left, never to return. this is a REAL ghost town, and COD4 used images from the town for the game. but that's obviously a concept too large for your potent, computer-addled mind to grasp.

  • @SChique00 you are a moron , i wrote it with IRONY, but perhaps you are to stupid to understand(read also my other comment)

  • yeah right. those russians are computer geeks. they seem to build the interesting things of pc games for real. well, every culture has its own oddities

  • you are an asshole

like this city is build based on COD4

  • 50,000 people lived in that city now it's a ghost town

  • hey zakahev says that in cod4

  • 5:52

  • 05:52

  • 05:52

  • i wona go there like a ghost town so nice and silent love it :)

  • This is so sad, the mere thought that so many people lived there, buildings, homes, hospitals, gyms, and now it's nothing more than a radioactive desert full of memories. scares the hell out of me. These people didnt deserve this, I guess its the reaction of negligence and ignorance from the controllers on the Nuke Plant... great video by the way.. I played this scenario on COD4 and it scared me out.. I dont think these things should be used to promote a game.. Peace

  • I think it´s great that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and COD4 reminded us of Pripyat and the Chernobyl desaster...too many people have already forgotten.

Now, after playing the games, many people are interested in the events that lead to the exclusion zone...especially many young people who weren´t born then or too young to remember.

Especially S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is also a memorial to the catastrophy still going on...

  • i was born 1978 and remeber that i wasnt allowed to play outside after the catastrophe. i live in south western germany

  • fuck i hate to see those smashed pianos

  • This vid allmost scared me shitless it strikes fear into you knowing what happened

  • i want to go there

  • im savin up

  • @aviator147 You can. You can get special permission from the Ukranian government; they operate guided tours. Sort of twisted in my opinion; people making money even on a tragedy of this scale, but I suppose each to their own. I would personally love to visit too, but I believe it's a mystery that should only be admired from afar.

  • actually deadly.

had you someone on mics? if that was all onboard it was excellent.

  • Why is everything so messed up and broken in pripyat, when everybody had to leave in three days?

  • iron thieves mess it up

  • iron thieves messed it up

  • @NIkoFH

It was a bit like the Pharoah tombs in the Egyptian pyramids; once the town was abandoned, looters and gangsters invaded the place, and took most objects of value (you see, everyone was only allowed to take one suitcase with them, so most possessions were left behind). That, combined with the weather extremes and the fact that noone's lived there for 24 years, also adds to the general decay. I think there's a video of looters in Prypiat taking lots of home heaters. Disgusting, really.

  • they should film a russian horrer film there

  • omfg its scares the helll out of me (0:27) thats the same text as cod4 the map with cp macmillan

  • Schutt und Asche - Everything is in ruin

  • chilling stuff.

  • VERY BIG CREEPY PLACE

  • wonderful! the perfect place for a remake of tarkovsky's stalker

  • but instead of an invisible allegorical danger it's an invisible radioactive danger.

  • Play ...SHADOW OF CHERNOBYL.

  • Play ...CLEAR SKY.

  • are you sure it's safe to tour that city since it's been abandoned due to radioactivity?

  • Yes. There are many official tours. Check out Solo East travel agency.

  • Some parts its safe but even looking at video's makes me feel insafe and eerie so i wouldnt go there there is still about 150 people living out side the exlusion zone old people but

  • It's safe, to an extent of course.

In fact people would be living in the city of the sarchopughgus wasn't a piece of shit.

Any ways if the sarch. falls it would release more radiation out and it's starting to rot so they've been working on it.

But other then that it's quite safe to enter pripyat, I soupose if you stumbled over something in a house maybe at a low chance it would stir up some radiation.

  • The screams that you heard were actually wild dogs or the soundof wind whistling through the old buildings. The city itself is screaming.

  • Hauntingly beautiful, thankyou.

  • Good stuff. Good job on your film. :)

  • absolutely fantastic film. i would really like visit chernobyl myself too.

  • that squirel at 4:25 really scared me. i didnt expect that.

awesome work! i would love to go someday.

  • was there any survivers?

  • An estimate of approximately 5,000 people in Ukraine and Russia died of radiation related sickness. During the span of the day of the explosion and the day after, 26 people in Pripyat died and dozened were severely burned by radiation.

  • gosh, reminds me of the game and movie, Silent Hill. I'm just waiting for all the monsters to jump out and the sirens to go off

  • i read what cplasgaunas just said, but did cal of duty 4 use your images for their game?

  • at 3:24 there is voice and at 3:26 there is like a scream what is that?

  • Everybody speaks here of call of duty 4. This images aren't a game and I think in STALKER, maybe no with the awesome graphics of call of duty 4, but they did very well the city

  • I assume that some of the damage that we see was caused by looters and vandals, other than Time? And that the same goes for people's possesions left behind during the evacuation? (Given that people were allowed only one suitcase each.)

  • it's kinda weird how well call of duty 4 recreated it.

  • I don't like the story of call of duty 4 but I the atmosfere was awesome

  • is it possible to go to the Chernobyl NPP?

or is the radiation levels still to high for humans? just asking.

  • U can go there, but only a short period of time, otherwise u get to much radiation.

  • Depends on which section and how long. The remaining Chernobyl reactors were generating power until 2000 when the last one was shut down. I am fairly certain there are workers there now still monitoring the site as long as nuclear fuel remains. They rotate work shifts to limit the radiation exposure.

  • Awesome short film, amazing shots, really using the rule of thirds, playing with foreeground & background, lighting & shadows. I love the blacks with the audio playing, nice touch. Life and death together.

  • Now thats where you should store nucluer waste. Any terrorist who tries to steel it, will just die

  • good work of art also these buildings and structures are exactly teh same as the things in chernobyl in call of duty 4 this is madness that building with the letters that building with the curved bit and all of the flats this is some awsome stuff thnx for puttin it on

  • A lonely painting of a dead man who struck fear into the hearts of his servants, forever staring. Waiting for someone to return.

Excellent video, its been a while since i've seen something as striking as this. Excellent work.

50,000 people used to live here, now its a ghost town.

I liked your comment "the last remaining Soviet city" a testament to the fact that no matter how hard you try you can't erase hostory.

  • i theres no one living there is it still abandoned

  • depressing

  • Outstanding.........

  • I lived in Kiev for over a year. A daughter of a medical doctor there said her mother was concerned about the very high cancer rates in Kiev, one of the places where the fallout was heavy from the Chernobyl incident. It would be interesting to see those stats, the real ones, if they exist. What is the biggest PRESENT tragedy are the kids in the orphanages there, hidden away, and barely keeping the children alive and fed. Corruption is a serious hinderance to assisting those children there.

  • great a work of art mate
