1. Yes... mostly... and kind of no. The vloggers, I think are generally more realistic than other types of videos, but most people act differently on the Internet than they do in more real life.
2. Youtube is a whole community where you can find both chemistry help and watch entertaining vlogs and videos. It allows people to connect from all over the world and I think that is great!
2. to me, youtube is a website i go to when i am bored at home because my car is getting fixed and my parents wont let me drive any of our other cars.. and its a source of entertainment thats better than tv because istead of annoying celebrities, i get to watch normal people
i think that youtube can be anything you want it to be. thats whats cool about it, you make your channel whatever you want. this can mean real life or totally made up. Also what youtube means to me is entertainment and helpful tips, aswell as knowledge, how-to and advice on things :)
real life is me now being on youtube., but youtube itself is not real life. Question 2 ive forgot, hangon.... Okkkay, youtube doesnt mean that much to me, just somewhere to go when im bored and need abit of insperation :) x
2hold on i forgot the question i have to rewind it Dx......oh ok, youtube hmm, its something i use when i want to watch REAL people talking about REAl life unlike Tv shows or reality xP
I, in no way, consider Youtube to be "real life". I'm usually on Youtube for entertainment purposes, if I want to see a specific video, and to kill the boredom I have - when I'm obviously bored, lol.
1. YouTube isn't real life. It is somewhere for people to create their identity. It could be a completely false identity or it could be part of their real identity. You're never going to see the complete personality of someone just by watching 10 minutes of footage.
2. It's somewhere I can go to watch interesting videos created by every day people. The channels to flick are endless. There is something for everyone.
1. no youtube is a place where someone can basically be someone they are not. and people put on videos and act and stuff. its not real. unless its vlogs/daily vloggers. those are real life.
2. it means a distraction, something to do when you're bored, procrastination, and hours of wasting time watching videos (:
1- Nope! No one would say half the rude stuff they say in person!!
2- It means the answers to life! It cures my boredom, and Helps me understand things about hair makeup driving or whatevever! And people like you make me laugh!!
1.) youtubeee is not real life . lol its sortaa just likee teve.just for entertainment.(:(well unless ur like comentinq on a video, then thats preety real.i mean ur not fake comentinq.lol if i was fake comentinq idd need like a fake name & everythinq,o wait no! i have a fake name lol its my account name lmao! well anyways my real name is samantha.)
2.)to me youtube means--im bored,i have nothinq else to do,and i cant find thee remote to chanqe the chanel on thee teve soo i quess..its time 4 YT!
youtube is a mirror of society so yes it explores real life. But it also explores fanstasy so it is both real life and not real life at the same time.
Youtube to me is many things, sexy girls being flirtatious and dancing, people exploring serious issues, educational, funny, a news source, political etc. It's not one anything to me.
It's not real life, but it's like an image of society, if you see stupid things on youtube, is 'cause that's the way society is, as weel as if you see some incredible and interesing videos. Not real life but is an image, like a mirror of it.
2. For me it's entertainment and a way to see the world the way other people see it.
1. Youtube is real life except people can hide behind user names and usually are a lot more outspoken than they would be in person. Its real life because its all about people connecting and sharing thoughts and ideas and common interests...and that's a big part of life.
2. Youtube means a lot of different things to different people. To the mast majority of people that dont post videos it could just be entertainment. to those that make videos it is a way to express oneself and communicate
1. i think of youtube like TV, but with a little more of a real life feel to it just because people usually make their vids on their own, without fancy sets or anything.
2. for me, youtube is just a form of entertainment. i go on YT whenever i'm bored and it's nice because you can go on just for fun or to learn stuff.
1.) Yes. I believe YouTube is real life. It's about people, people saying and posting what they want to. It's about as real life as it gets.
2.) YouTube means a lot to me. It's the first place I think of when I'm looking for any obscure song or video. It's a place I go to learn things of a scientific nature. It's a place I can go to satisfy the voyeur part of me; looking at other people lives -- like the parts you like to show me -- while still being anonymous.
1. depends. there's acting/entertainment (not real), then there's vlogs.. most of the time there's editing which takes away from its genuineness. you can't edit/pause/rewind/fast forward in real life. however there are videos on here documenting people's lives. although there is editing, the small, put together sections are genuine, real life...
2. umm without youtube i would be a very, very bored person. i need my youtube man!
1. no because people edit their videos to mke themselves seem completly different or to hide a something embarassing such as a stutter or lets say add. and they act completly different when other people see it.
(continued)... it lets all people from all over connect with each other and has even made people famous, which I think is cool. Like, if you have good enough videos, you have a good chance of becoming really well known. And vlogging is a good way to express yourself. I also use it for information, like how to do things.
1. Real life? I'm not really 100% sure what that means haha. But I think like anything on the internet, people lie, or they make some fake persona that's very different from how they are in real life. What I mean is, not everyone on here is being "real", and there's no way anyone could know.
2. To me, youtube is not really a big part of my life, I just go on here for the same reasons I do most websites, entertainment, procrastination, etc. I think it's a nice thing, though... (next comment)
1. I do think that YouTube is real life. I mean, any one can lie about their lives in front of a camera, but it does give for good entertainment.
2. YouTube is where I spend a majority of my time, looking up random videos. I love when my favorite gurus/youtubers make a new video, it excites me. They make me want to be a better person, and strive to do better in school! Like you! YouTube is my getaway.
1. I suppose it is real life, for those who vlog find it easier to express themselves through video and its gets all around the world, its how we connect and bond
2. Inspiration, it takes alot to create your own videos and share your opinions + talents + experiences, i am camera shy as well as shy in general. I would like to create my own videos and i think about it alot i just havent plucked up the courage yet, but i will :)
1. i don't think it's real life. but it's part of people's like so maybe that makes it real life? but then not all people are being "real" so no, i don't think it's real life. but it can be an extension to real life, maybe?
2. a form of entertainment. a procrastination tool
1. Youtube isn't as much as real life than it is entertainment. It's just a way for normal people with great/good/stupid ideas to share with others for their opinions.
2.Youtube is just a website that I can go to to entertain myself when I'm bored and express myself by uploading videos if I want to and connect with others.
1.yes, it lets people express themselves and what they know, even if its with humor
2. youtube to me is entertainment, an information, source and even a great way to learn. alot peopel itis a cheance at hollywood and thats usually the case but i think its a great way to express yourself through video
1. Sometimes i think it is but mostly pretending!
2. It means that you can show your own thing like if you wanted a guy falling off a trampoline and no-one has it you can! It would be boring if you couldnt post stuff.
1. youtube can be used for reality or fiction....you are real, but then there are videos of movies that are fake, so either
2. youtube is a world where people can post vidoes and connect with millions of people with the touch of a button. it is the beginning of an era where one can connect with many....20 years ago how could a teenager get something across to 1,000 people- by tv, which is mostly impossible.......(t.l. higley talked aobut this- look her up= awesome writer)
1. Hmm, never thought about that. I would say yes, it is.
2. Youtube means a cnace at fame for me. Actually, it's a chance of fame for anyone. Youtube can make anyone famous. Without having any paid advertisement. All you need to do is record, edit and you could be the next big thing. It's a way to speak out, as well. Anyone will listen to what you have to say. Hundreds, thousands or even millions will listen to your opinion! Truely spectacular.
I think it depends, for instance there is the ne user unculturedproject and he posts videos of how he has helped people with money that people in the youtube communityhave donated. What I'm trying to say is that there is a lot of raw footage that a lot of news channels would cut down. Youtube for me is an outlet and a way to actually see real people trying to get their word out there, because otherwise it's harder to do, and also it's full of mindless things that one can enjoy.
1. i think youtube is definitely real life, but from all sorts of different areas in life. it has all sorts of different kinds of videos, from vlogging to news and makeup tutorials.
2. youtube is where i listen to music, watch tutorials, and catch up on shows i missed. youtube definitely connects people with one another.
1. some of it is real and some videos are not, we get to look into other peoples lives for a minute and they can express if their sad or angry. other times its a skit
I see Youtube as an outlet to reality. The viewer can get to know the people in the videos. They can look through the eyes of somebody else. They can experience things that they wouldn't be able to experience otherwise. Youtube gives great opportunities to people that they wouldn't be able to achieve by themselves.
Youtube is an important component of media and modern life. I am entertained, I am inspired, and I am soothed from Youtube. Without it, I would not be the person I am today.
@disneychanneller I agree with everything you say, there is more than beauty gurus. I think some people are closed minded and concentrate on entertainment, rather than getting to see new places and people and their experiences.
1. for some, I suppose it is real life.. but it's also full of people doing crazy things just to get a lot of views.. and then there's all of those girls doing make-up tutorials talking about make-up and brushes that they've been paid to talk about.. but there's lots of real life people too naturally;)
2. It's definately the best place to be killing time.. and also the best place to discover new music and watch movie trailers and stuff like that. youtube is definately one of my fav web pages;)
no. youtubes not real life. you can be whoever you damn well want on youtube much better than real life. andd youtube means boredom buster and getting to watch charlie mcdonells sexyness.
for me hell no .. it's not even close to be real most of people are fake or their life have absolutely nothing to do with their videos .. one of the most subscribed channels .. you can in his first Acc see how funny he is but in his VLOG's you'll see how boring his life is !! .. and other acts like an asshole but actually he is just a wuss .. and i'm obsessed about youtube lately . Good Luck Alexis ;-)
Youtube is real to me in the sense that I can share my fetish with other like minded people who share that interest. & Youtube to me means a video community an good outlet for promotion
1. youtube is real life, there were some exceptions, but generally the videos are real, people are real
some people make small lies to protect their private lives, they don't asy where they live, but that's about it
2. youtube has changed my life, I learned how to do make up properly and we all know it changes a lot when you look good, I get better grades at school, generally I get more what I want
fellow IB grad here, got an A (final mark) in TOK after getting straight C+'s in that course in year one. Just make sure you write one really, really good essay.
1. I think that yt is real life in the sense that it is a place where anyone can showcase their creativity and gain (mostly) genuine feedback from others.
2. yt is a place where I can show my own creativity but also admire others' and learn new things in the process. Or kill time.
1) I see it as 'real life.' Though I have plenty of IRL friends, the friendships I have made through YouTube will probably last longer than many IRL friendships & my involvement in the community has impacted my life in a way not much else has.
2) Youtube is just part of my daily routine. Like talking to a friend or reading the news, I have to check Youtube to see how my friends are doing. I have friends from around the country, and world, solely because of each of our interests in Youtube.
2.) For me, Youtube is a way that I stay connected with the rest of the world. Youtube has tons of videos on everything. I watch videos to learn about things (Makeup, hair, books, etc.) If I want to watch a television show that I missed, I don't have to wait for weeks, maybe even months but Instead I can watch it here on Youtube. I also watch videos to laugh. There are so many funny Youtubers, and that one video could be the only thing that makes me laugh the entire day. Youtube makes me happy.
2. youtube means updates on movies music makeup fashion channels and more. or old episodes of shows and old music videos. youtube is a trend like twitter facebook or myspace and we will move on from it soon.
1.) I believe Youtube is real life. Here on Youtube people post videos of themselves singing and dancing or make vlogs about their lives and their interests. You've taken us in the car with you on your way to look for a movie for school.Youtubers make videos that give us a taste of their life but in a way that isn't boring, but exciting. There will always be people who act different than they might when they aren't filming, but again, that's life. People act one way and then they act the other.
1. youtube can be about real life but the majority of the popular channels are not
2 I remember early in youtube's life when i thought it had amazin portential to stray from the pre-made bubble gum media of major networks for amateur content with real substance and information . Nope. not anymore. Now I have search through all the Defrancos and Shane Dawsons of youtube to find real gems... tootles
1. I think it is real life if the youtuber isnt fake. 2. What it means to me is getting a chance to see what other people are like around the world, learn new things (me makeup) and interact with other people aswell :)
Im being completely serious when I say this, I don't consider youtube anything near real life. Cause people with real lives have better things to do then look for other people doing stuff in real life, ergo I am not one of these people.
Secondly youtube use to mean alot more to me personally as aside from porn you could basically upload anything you wanted and share it with people. Then google took over now its nazi fascism pulls videos every chance it gets. It's just not what it use to be...
1.) yes and no... bcuz for the people who make videos yes bcuz they are putting themselve out there and tlk bout there life or share talents or intrests... No bcuz well some just get on to watch a video or 2 or to just listen to songs....
2.) To me utube is just a way to find pple who share my likes and meet pple all across the world, u really feel like u no ur subscribers and subscriptions...
1 Yes, I feel youtube is real life because if it's not someone vlogging, they're singing, making videos, or being themselves and expressing themselves. Real people in real life made all these videos, so yes, youtube is real life.
2. To me, youtube is a place to escape, get away, get a laugh, and be amused.
1. yes and no. yes because they are real people who make real videos. also no because people can be faking who they are and they could be acting like someone completely different than who they really are
2. yes youtube means something to me because its a place where i can learn how to do makeup, hair, fashion, crafts, etc. and its something that i can pass the time with
2. To me, Youtube is a place where people can share themselves. To me, it is how I relax and entertain myself in my down time. Youtube seriously has taught me so much. You can find a tutorial on anything. It's a place to interact with other everday people and share who we are with each other. I love Youtube, it's much more than just a broadcasting site.
1. Youtube is totally real life! This is real, ordinary people here on Youtube. Anyone can join Youtube and anyone can post videos. Besides the commerical and famous videos, most are just real people posting themselves doing real things (vlogging about real life, singing, dancing, sharing talents, sharing their cool editing skills, etc.)
1. no, youtube is not real life because you dont know the person who you are watching and you cant respond to them. like when they ask a question you cant say the answer out loud and they can hear it... if that makes sense.
2. youtube doesnt real mean anything specificaly to me because its like a website...... if i was a person with many subscribers and it payed my bills then it would have a better meaning to me.
1) yes because it is real people expressing their opinions or showing thier skills or talking about whatever it is that THEY want to talk about. people wouldn't be on here if it wasn't something real to them.
2) well, youtube doesn't really "mean" anything to me. i like it because it allows people to interact and share thoughts and other jazz. i also like it because people put some really funny stuff on here.
1. I see it as real life because it's real people making the videos, and with most (apart from those who're just here to get famous) their subscribers actually matter to them
2. There are a lot of people on YouTube who are very "inspirational" in the way they behave and the things they believe. It also helps you to understand how people think, because you have an insight into their lives. It's also the perfect way to spreading messages
I've learnt a lot from YouTube about society in general.
1) no, youtube only shows one portion or one part of your life. usually the happiest or most entertaining parts.
2) youtube is a place to laugh and to learn and to be informed. i use it to watch funny and interesting videos, learn makeup tutorials and stuff, and find reviews on products before i buy them.
1. yoputube is most definatley real life. It may not be tangible, or an actual "life" but it is a way of living for people.
2. Youtube is an outlet for me. It lets me express myself, by making videos, lets me connect with people form all around the world, and in general, it is just plain old fun.
1. yes youtube is real life. it helps you communicate with others, meet new people, and can also teach you stuff. news and tutorials are posted all over youtube, making it easier to gain knowledge.
2. To me, youtube is freedom of speach. some take that to the extreme, others may not even understand. but youtube allows anyone with internet access, and a video camera/webcam to share their thoughts, feelings, humor, and interests with the world.
2. To me, youtube is a great way to learn about the lives of different people from around the world. In a way, it gives you insight into understanding people.
1. im in the middle about that. you do communicate with people and can really get to knoww that person, but not the other way around usually.
2. youtube is a place where someone can go to just watch videos and laugh and get ready from the world. and they can express themselves to the world :)
1 Youtube is not real life. Real life is when people get to Know each other and show effection to each other. On youtube people act in vidioes. They don't show their real self.
2 youtube is a place to come and be entertained. people come to see a different veriatey of vids. from music vids, to cometies, to vidioes that ask questions. youtube is a cummunity made of all veriaties of people, who like or don't like your vids. Youtube is just like a community were no one knows anyone.
1. Yes, Youtube is real life. But, it's only one aspect of life, not a whole life itself. It's more like an activity people do than an actual part of life. But, it does help people in real life.
2. Youtube, to me, means a place where people can upload videos, whether they're trying to aim to be known or not, a place to find information, and a place where people can turn to for just some entertainment purposes.
1) YouTube is real life. Like David After Dentist. More in depth- it's the lives of people who have decided to express themselves over the internet. For skits / made up plays on Youtube might not be "real life". It is a way of reaching masses of people.
2) I use it to listen to music, watch videos, share videos with my friends and watch videos from people who are across the world. A true way of staying touch with the world. :)
1) I don't think youtube is real life. I mean, anytime a camera is on, people act differently- from talking louder and looking at the camera the whole time to becoming a whole different person.
2) Youtube means a place t relax, share ideas and opinions, and connect with the world and its vast amount of cultures.
1. i think youtube is like real life in that people can ake friends and express themselves, but is not a good substitute for having real-life friends, y'know?
2. i find youtube a good way of staying up-to-date and a good way to entertain myself for a few hours.
1. Yes, youtube is real life, everything that happens in a lifespan is real life.
2. I don't post videos on youtube, but it has introduced me to people that make my day by posting a funny video, and I've learned a lot from people who do tutorials and stuff like that.
1.) i feel like it used to be cute, interesting, funny things that were in real life, caught on camera and shown to the world, but now its just like... lame people making super short sketches, whoring them out, and the linking their twitter.
2.) its like an escape, and a connection at the same time.
1. I think that YouTube is real life in the same way that a telephone conversation is real life. YouTube is a means of communication, a part of real life.
2. I just made a video about some of the ways that YouTube has improved my life, but it is a video response to shessomickey's video Why YouTube Pwns (which is about what YouTube means to her / how it has affected her off-computer life_
1. Yes, youtube is all about showing urself. ppl put vids of them doing the most random things.
2. Youtube means everything to me. I go on it daily and the faces I see everyday from my subscriptions make my day. Whether its a makeup guru doing a haul or tutorial, a comedian, a blogger. I like to keep up with them and their lives. I just noticed how freaky that sounds ^
1. No, I think that YouTube lets you in to other people's perspective or their own life but real life has to be something that you experience on your own with day to day people.
2. YouTube is just a form of entertainment and information.
1) No. In real life, there is face to face communication. You directly speak to a person and listen to what they have to say. When you upset someone, you have to take care of it. On youtube, anything can happen behind the screen.
2) To me, youtube is just a way to kill time and learn a couple new things.
1) People do vlogs, so that's based on real life but people tend to act differently on camera.
2) It's a way to learn new things, whether it be heritage (I'm Irish but most people I'm subscribed to are American), makeup tutorials, comedy. I think it's a good portal for visual learning and entertainment :)
I would say youtube can be considered both real life and not, 1. because its real people, and sometimes realy scenenarios , but than again theres alot of editting done to videos that is fiction(not to mention some vids are jus OUT THERE!). Youtube for me atleast, is a site I can go when i want to learn something new and have a little fun :)
1. YES its real life i mean its real people who are showing in a way part of their life if not showing us how they lives are or what they do for their lives they are showing us how they take time out of their lives to dedicate on youtube.
2. To me youtube means a lot, my entertainment where i learn stuff, watch other peoples stuff, where i get lots of ideas and just ave a nice happy time
1) Sometimes real life and youtube overlap, especially when people make friends through youtube meetups and people watching their channels.
2) Just a way to watch something no matter what mood I'm in, be it for a song, something sad or something insanely cute that is so sickening I would never actually want to go out and buy a dvd to view it.
1. Hell to the no. Its funny when people actually think it is.
2. To me, youtube is a way of wasting my time. I really enjoy watching videos about DIY and beauty also I enjoy making videos because I get really bored.
1. well no, and yes. The people on it are real(usually?) and in some videos like vlogs the things they are doing are real. but other then that no and people do make up things too on youtube.
2. To me, Youtube is a pass-time, a way of learning new things and of meeting new people, a source of entertainment and even a de-stresser. Whenever I'm bored I'll come on and just watch random videos or tutorials to pass the time. If I need to learn how to do a certain hairstyle or need an informational video to accompy a school project I use it. And sometimes if I just need to relax I'll come on here and watch something funny. In other words Youtube definitly meens a lot to me :)
1. Youtube is is both real life and not, depending on what video you are watching. Obviously is you are watching a t.v show that someone uploaded and is a show that is completely acted and not reality tv (for example Hanna Montana) then that is not real life. Where as watching tutorials or vlogs that real people have done and uploaded (like you) then I would consider that to be real life. Because the person is not acting (atleast I hope not) and you are really getting to no them and their life.
1) youtube is not real life, we see just what the brodcaster wanna show us.
2) youtube is a source of knowledge (I've learned many things with youtube tutorials) and also of entertainment (when i'm bored I watch some funny videos or I can watch shows that I cant watch on tv, becouse some nice people upload them).
1. youtube is real life, it shows people for who they are, even if they are playing a character it's still showing what they like to do and what there good at.
2. youtube is amazing, it actully sounds really sad but it helps take my mind of the bad times and makes me laugh, it's really good way for people to express themselfs and makes people realise it's okay to be who you are people do except you, it's also a good way to get famous which is always a plus! hope this has helped :) x
1. youtube invites people to a fraction of someones life and that means that it is real life, but it isnt the full picture and its just certain things that you see, but for youtubers like SHAYTARD, he invites ppl into his life everyday so it depends on hu u watch etc..
2. You tube to me is a place to unwind and at times learn about and from others. ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES, mostly. I occassionaly interact with sincere people so it can be a place to network for some. Social solidarity!
1. Youtube is real life if you think about it. Some ppl go live unedited and some ppl tweak what they want you to see, So in that sense it has the genuiness or the manipulation that we as ppl bring to "real life". Some are more comfy giving u raw uncut footage while others pre-meditate what will be seen by the viewer.
1. this question doesnt have a definite answer to me. i think youtube just gives everyone an opportunity to have their own "television channel." the viewers never really know whats real and whats not..
2. youtube, to me, is a place where i can learn, be entertained, cry, and share my opinion.
1)No, it's nice but u can't see people in real life and their facial expression, but there are nice people and a lot of fun to argue/discuss with.
2) a lot, cuz I find music and entertainment here I do also find beautichallens that helps me to perfect my make up skills that I need for my future career.I concidder opning my own beautichannel btw. Also a lot of movies and documentary's aswell. youtube has become a bit important to me.
1. I think youtube is like real life because its real people watching real people, just interacting through the computer. Not in anyyway is youtube a fictional video game or anything like that, so yes in a way i consider it real life.
2. I love youtube, I love watching videos and being a part of or getting to know a person from the other side of the world! YOUTUBE IS AWESOME, idk what i would do if it suddenly disappeared
1. Yes, Youtube is real life for me. I watch people's videos and think of them as real people who just enjoy posting their life on the internet.
2. Youtube, to me, is a website that brings together people who have all different iterests in life into one place. Youtube is for anyone, the one who likes comedy, makeup, gadgets, etc.
1. Yes, I do. I think vlogs really reflect who the person is and if they do daily vlogs you get to see how they are in their natural setting. Sketches are written but I still think they reflect a person's sense of humor and what type of person they are.
2.Youtube, to me, is a community that accepts you no matter how crazy you are. Post a well thought out video, and in my experience, you will find at least a few people who like it. There is a ton of talent on youtube.
If all we were to do is watch YouTube, for a since of reality, we would fail. No matter how great a channel may be, or how much facts are put into a video, we can not get a true since of reality from them. That was my point. BTW a fraction is a portion or a small amount I dont have to be a mathematician to know the meaning of words
I am not going to argue with you or anyone else frankly, I have better things to do. I just wanted to make my previous words clear.
1. yes and no. there are those people who use YT as an outlet for their creative juice regardless of profit, and then there are those who use YT as a way to promote themselves solely for profit.
2. I enjoy catching a glimpse into peoples lives and learning tips and techniques from the how to channels.
1. ehh not really because it's just people taking bits of their life and filming it and putting them on here. So i guess in a way it is, but only small parts.
2. to me it just means entertainment when i have nothing to do :)
1 - yes, I think so. I mean, people might fake videos or Photoshop things but then photoshop is a part of life too (does that make sense?) and what else is there on youtube? people being creative, talking, teching. That's real.
2 - In general, I think it's self expression. For me personally, it's entertainment, learning new things and seeing whats out there.
1. most youtube is like real life. Real people talking about real things, giving advice, teaching people, or just putting themselves out there.
2. Youtube is a way for me to connect with others from around the world. I can give feedback and learn new things. I can also watch tv shows, movies, and music videos.
well yea its real life i guess cuz most of it is real people but otheewise no
a place for social media to connect with teens childrena dn adults
cousins4everish 1 week ago
1. yes i like watching ppl fail
2. Youtube means to me staying up a little later than my bed time watching videos of ppl failing
Lavendarhillvideos 4 months ago
1. Yes... mostly... and kind of no. The vloggers, I think are generally more realistic than other types of videos, but most people act differently on the Internet than they do in more real life.
2. Youtube is a whole community where you can find both chemistry help and watch entertaining vlogs and videos. It allows people to connect from all over the world and I think that is great!

There is something for everyone.

youtube is a mirror of society so yes it explores real life. But it also explores fanstasy so it is both real life and not real life at the same time.
Youtube to me is many things, sexy girls being flirtatious and dancing, people exploring serious issues, educational, funny, a news source, political etc. It's not one anything to me.
SuperWestworld 2 years ago

MomtaziMitra 2 years ago
1. i think of youtube like TV, but with a little more of a real life feel to it just because people usually make their vids on their own, without fancy sets or anything.
2. for me, youtube is just a form of entertainment. i go on YT whenever i'm bored and it's nice because you can go on just for fun or to learn stuff.

1.) Yes. I believe YouTube is real life. It's about people, people saying and posting what they want to. It's about as real life as it gets.
2.) YouTube means a lot to me. It's the first place I think of when I'm looking for any obscure song or video. It's a place I go to learn things of a scientific nature. It's a place I can go to satisfy the voyeur part of me; looking at other people lives -- like the parts you like to show me -- while still being anonymous.
conicEllipse 2 years ago
1. Youtube is becoming more like televison.. There are channels, shows, and subscriptions
2. To me, Youtube is just a place i like to spend my free time because i can find videos to suit any of my moods: artsy, funny, serious, etc.
eerinski 2 years ago
1. depends. there's acting/entertainment (not real), then there's vlogs.. most of the time there's editing which takes away from its genuineness. you can't edit/pause/rewind/fast forward in real life. however there are videos on here documenting people's lives. although there is editing, the small, put together sections are genuine, real life...
2. umm without youtube i would be a very, very bored person. i need my youtube man!

(continued)... it lets all people from all over connect with each other and has even made people famous, which I think is cool. Like, if you have good enough videos, you have a good chance of becoming really well known. And vlogging is a good way to express yourself. I also use it for information, like how to do things.
disconnectxthedots 2 years ago
(next comment)
disconnectxthedots 2 years ago

2. youtube is a world where people can post vidoes and connect with millions of people with the touch of a button. it is the beginning of an era where one can connect with many....20 years ago how could a teenager get something across to 1,000 people- by tv, which is mostly impossible.......(t.l. higley talked aobut this- look her up= awesome writer)

I think it depends, for instance there is the ne user unculturedproject and he posts videos of how he has helped people with money that people in the youtube communityhave donated. What I'm trying to say is that there is a lot of raw footage that a lot of news channels would cut down. Youtube for me is an outlet and a way to actually see real people trying to get their word out there, because otherwise it's harder to do, and also it's full of mindless things that one can enjoy.

bellaprincess103 2 years ago
I see Youtube as an outlet to reality. The viewer can get to know the people in the videos. They can look through the eyes of somebody else. They can experience things that they wouldn't be able to experience otherwise. Youtube gives great opportunities to people that they wouldn't be able to achieve by themselves.
Youtube is an important component of media and modern life. I am entertained, I am inspired, and I am soothed from Youtube. Without it, I would not be the person I am today.

Im being completely serious when I say this, I don't consider youtube anything near real life. Cause people with real lives have better things to do then look for other people doing stuff in real life, ergo I am not one of these people.

IAmTheTarantula 2 years ago
1) I don't think youtube is real life. I mean, anytime a camera is on, people act differently- from talking louder and looking at the camera the whole time to becoming a whole different person.
2) Youtube means a place t relax, share ideas and opinions, and connect with the world and its vast amount of cultures.

1. i think youtube is like real life in that people can ake friends and express themselves, but is not a good substitute for having real-life friends, y'know?
2. i find youtube a good way of staying up-to-date and a good way to entertain myself for a few hours.
rockdiamond897 2 years ago
1. Yes, youtube is real life, everything that happens in a lifespan is real life.
2. I don't post videos on youtube, but it has introduced me to people that make my day by posting a funny video, and I've learned a lot from people who do tutorials and stuff like that.
juliaa48 2 years ago
1. yes. people are communicating with each other and expressing themselves.
2. I get on YouTube when I am bored and watch funny videos!
tarynzstrw 2 years ago
1.) i feel like it used to be cute, interesting, funny things that were in real life, caught on camera and shown to the world, but now its just like... lame people making super short sketches, whoring them out, and the linking their twitter.
2.) its like an escape, and a connection at the same time.

2. youtube relieves my stress and makes me laugh
AshleyxxxBaby 2 years ago
1. I think that YouTube is real life in the same way that a telephone conversation is real life. YouTube is a means of communication, a part of real life.
2. I just made a video about some of the ways that YouTube has improved my life, but it is a video response to shessomickey's video Why YouTube Pwns (which is about what YouTube means to her / how it has affected her off-computer life_
ChateauOfADoubt 2 years ago

1) no, youtube is not real life. it is acting and you see how far you can get.
2) youtube is just entertainment
mehnameis6329 2 years ago
1. No, I think that YouTube lets you in to other people's perspective or their own life but real life has to be something that you experience on your own with day to day people.
2. YouTube is just a form of entertainment and information.
Good Luck!
genzatrip 2 years ago
1) No. In real life, there is face to face communication. You directly speak to a person and listen to what they have to say. When you upset someone, you have to take care of it. On youtube, anything can happen behind the screen.
2) To me, youtube is just a way to kill time and learn a couple new things.
SeaTurtleful 2 years ago
1. no, its not real life. its just staring at a computer. i mean, people contribute and stuff, but life happens outside of the little box.
2. youtube is what i do when i should be doing homework. ive met a few people, but nothing major.

1. ii think it depends, people can always lie but people can still tell the truth while theyre doing vlogs and stuff.
2. it means to me where i can watch videos that entertain me and listen to music, but also connect with people who share the same interests as me
hilaryduffx1234 2 years ago
1) People do vlogs, so that's based on real life but people tend to act differently on camera.
2) It's a way to learn new things, whether it be heritage (I'm Irish but most people I'm subscribed to are American), makeup tutorials, comedy. I think it's a good portal for visual learning and entertainment :)
ParkParks93 2 years ago
I would say youtube can be considered both real life and not, 1. because its real people, and sometimes realy scenenarios , but than again theres alot of editting done to videos that is fiction(not to mention some vids are jus OUT THERE!). Youtube for me atleast, is a site I can go when i want to learn something new and have a little fun :)
hope you get an A , good luck :)

1. YES its real life i mean its real people who are showing in a way part of their life if not showing us how they lives are or what they do for their lives they are showing us how they take time out of their lives to dedicate on youtube.
2. To me youtube means a lot, my entertainment where i learn stuff, watch other peoples stuff, where i get lots of ideas and just ave a nice happy time
hope i helped :D

1) Sometimes real life and youtube overlap, especially when people make friends through youtube meetups and people watching their channels.
2) Just a way to watch something no matter what mood I'm in, be it for a song, something sad or something insanely cute that is so sickening I would never actually want to go out and buy a dvd to view it.

1. well no, and yes. The people on it are real(usually?) and in some videos like vlogs the things they are doing are real. but other then that no and people do make up things too on youtube.
2.YouTube is entertainment
boomboomx2 2 years ago

1. yes youtube is real life.
2. youtube means information, learning, relaxing, creativity and it brings me closer to people.

2.YouTube is just a form of entertainment

1. youtube is real life, it shows people for who they are, even if they are playing a character it's still showing what they like to do and what there good at.
2. youtube is amazing, it actully sounds really sad but it helps take my mind of the bad times and makes me laugh, it's really good way for people to express themselfs and makes people realise it's okay to be who you are people do except you, it's also a good way to get famous which is always a plus! hope this has helped :) x

1. youtube invites people to a fraction of someones life and that means that it is real life, but it isnt the full picture and its just certain things that you see, but for youtubers like SHAYTARD, he invites ppl into his life everyday so it depends on hu u watch etc..
2. A way to distract myself and to relax etc...
asilem69 2 years ago 2
1. It has real people and some can document their real life but it's just a place to share thoughts and ideas that simulate real life.
2. Youtube is just a place of entertainment. It brings us back to the first question. Is entertainment real life than?
talkfamous 2 years ago
2. You tube to me is a place to unwind and at times learn about and from others. ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES, mostly. I occassionaly interact with sincere people so it can be a place to network for some. Social solidarity!
charity0009 2 years ago
1. Youtube is real life if you think about it. Some ppl go live unedited and some ppl tweak what they want you to see, So in that sense it has the genuiness or the manipulation that we as ppl bring to "real life". Some are more comfy giving u raw uncut footage while others pre-meditate what will be seen by the viewer.
charity0009 2 years ago
1. this question doesnt have a definite answer to me. i think youtube just gives everyone an opportunity to have their own "television channel." the viewers never really know whats real and whats not..
2. youtube, to me, is a place where i can learn, be entertained, cry, and share my opinion.
bellaamariela 2 years ago
1) No because on youtube, a person can create their own reality. Anyone can be whomever they want to be on camera, similar to acting.
2) Youtube means an escape from reality.
sweetlb 2 years ago
I agree with you in a great sense on both responses. Goodpoints.

1.) No, lol, but it is nice to see people talking about their lives.
2.)An escape I guess. To be entertained and learn about people and different cultures.

1) Depends what your watching! Somethings are real life, Personal vlog type videos are real life, and theres also alot of non real life vids on here.
2) Entertainment and a source for information.
Hope this helps! :)

1. I think youtube is like real life because its real people watching real people, just interacting through the computer. Not in anyyway is youtube a fictional video game or anything like that, so yes in a way i consider it real life.
2. I love youtube, I love watching videos and being a part of or getting to know a person from the other side of the world! YOUTUBE IS AWESOME, idk what i would do if it suddenly disappeared
livsluvsuforeva 2 years ago
no youtube is not real life.
it has real people on it however.
people choose how they wish to act on youtube, some people tell the truth.
and some people make things up for entertainment purposes.
and youtube is something where people can express their opinions or talents ect..
and for normal people, who wouldn't be seen or heard without it.
and its something for me to do when i'm bored.
katri156 2 years ago 2
Alliex413 2 years ago

YouTube is not real life, but rather, a fraction of it.
I think YouTube is a great online source of entertainment, practical knowledge, and random clips of peoples lives, who have nothing better to do.
kimberlynovember 2 years ago
fraction? what are you, A MATHMATICIAN?! take a look at channels like whatthebuck, sxephil, ijustine.
THE LIST GOES ON AND ON!!!
don't make me continue -.-
seanw23 2 years ago
If all we were to do is watch YouTube, for a since of reality, we would fail. No matter how great a channel may be, or how much facts are put into a video, we can not get a true since of reality from them. That was my point. BTW a fraction is a portion or a small amount I dont have to be a mathematician to know the meaning of words
I am not going to argue with you or anyone else frankly, I have better things to do. I just wanted to make my previous words clear.
kimberlynovember 2 years ago
1. yes and no. there are those people who use YT as an outlet for their creative juice regardless of profit, and then there are those who use YT as a way to promote themselves solely for profit.
2. I enjoy catching a glimpse into peoples lives and learning tips and techniques from the how to channels.
ashlee1228 2 years ago
1. ehh not really because it's just people taking bits of their life and filming it and putting them on here. So i guess in a way it is, but only small parts.
2. to me it just means entertainment when i have nothing to do :)
TheSavvyLioness 2 years ago
1 - yes, I think so. I mean, people might fake videos or Photoshop things but then photoshop is a part of life too (does that make sense?) and what else is there on youtube? people being creative, talking, teching. That's real.
2 - In general, I think it's self expression. For me personally, it's entertainment, learning new things and seeing whats out there.
=)

1. most youtube is like real life. Real people talking about real things, giving advice, teaching people, or just putting themselves out there.
2. Youtube is a way for me to connect with others from around the world. I can give feedback and learn new things. I can also watch tv shows, movies, and music videos.
