  • That logo was used during the 1959-1960 TV season on several shows including

"Adventures in Paradise" as well as "The Loves of Dobie Gillis" among others, it was rather short-lived(used only for about a year total) as it was only used during that season and into the Summer of 1960, before being replaced with the more familiar 20TH Century Fox logo that was traditionally used in films from the fall of 1960 and onward on TV as well.

  • @tbear4pa It was only used that one season. TCF went to the traditional tower and searchlight logo the next season, with its shows on ABC using a modified brass version of the fanfare until about 1962 or so when they used the film version.

  • By chance, is that the logo theme for the Fox Television logo?

  • @ShaDeed329 That was the logo theme for 20th Century Fox TV during that one season.

  • Thanx.

  • Yep, that sounds right, 'action'...

  • Martin Manulis also co-produced "THE MANY LOVES OF DOBIE GILLIS" in its first two seasons (1959-'61) for TCF Television as well...

  • I think Manulis pretty much ran the TV arm of Fox for those two seasons.

  • @fromthesidelines how many TV shows were done at 20th century-fox television.

  • i got the same As you what was this really taken from.

  • This is from a 1959 episode of "Adventures in Paradise" titled "The Amazon". As my copy had original commercials, too; I can only conclude this was the real deal.
