just got a used tarpon 160 2009 model in red, with the rod holders and scotty caster. great condition and only $1300, which for australia is a great price.
The tarpon boats are great, 120 is great for bay area, and can handle surf pretty well, the 140 is faster, tracks better although both track well, and handles the big blue very well. The track system is great with the right assorted you can mount anything and everything, if your not fishing in the ocean the Ride kayak by wilderness is excellent, a little slower but magnificently stable when standing.
I been looking around for a fishing kayak and this track system is a good idea. Can anyone give me some feed back, pro and cons on the WS tarpon 120 and 140 kayaks, and how they like or dislike the track system?
Since its placement is adjustable, you can locate the unit where it is out of the way. Most paddlers will find that locating it even with (or beyond) their footbraces will be out of the way. If you are mounting them on the rear tracks there is no problem with their being out of the way.
