The music goes to the very core of human emotions, and Sokolov uses his brilliant technique, part of which, of course is the ability to create a superb color palette, for the sole purpose of conveying the exact intentions of the composer.
GOD this is the most beautiful performance of this movement I've ever heard! I never thought there'd be another Richter but this guy blows that theory right out of the water! The greatest pianist since Richter imo!
