For all we know, the Scarlet Devil Mansion COULD fit a planet or two inside since it has the whole "time-space manipulation" deal going on. It'd be pretty cool to have a life-size planetarium inside your own house.
You mostly only cut off "u"s when they're after alveolar consonants like "s" or "z" or "dz" or "ts" (for example desu, zubon, kidzuku, hatsumimi, pardon my awful romanization). Even for those consonants, the "u" is often not cut off.
You can try using the neospeech text-to-speech demo (google it) with a japanese voice to hear a pretty accurate pronunciation. For context-less results use katakana: ハクギョクロウ You can also try 白玉楼 to see what it makes of that.
I'm a little perplexed why the "Related Videos" thing contains "how to torment a telemarketer" and Chocolate Rain.

Well, Hakugyokurou does have an annoying, too-long staircase. Just not a copy-paste staircase.

I have much respect for you!

Flawn-durr. I know it's correct, but damn if it doesn't make me cringe.

if you get 99 starts, is your special score still 100?

No. The game rounds down if you have an odd number of stars, so 99 stars will give you 49 points.

It's pronounced 'Hakugyokurou'.
Yeah.

I know approximately how to say it, I just don't know if I'm supposed to cut the "u"s off or not.
If I knew, I'd know how to say it just fine.

Uh, I was just joking. I have no freakin' idea how you pronounce it either and usually refer to it as 'Haku-Gaku-Land'.

If you can copy and paste the original Japanese text, I can tell you.

白玉楼

My kanji-reading abilities are basic, but most basically it's Hakugyokurou. xD
Hah-koo-gyo (sorry, kinda like geh-yo, just quickly)-koo-roh.

So you DO pronounce the "u"s instead of cutting them off, then. Thanks.
